What's my System Password?!

I've just installed my AirPort express, which is working great, but everytime my computer starts up, it asks for the "System Password" to access the keychain.
I don't remember ever setting my System Password, and it's not my Admin Password or any of the other passwords I always use.
How do I find out my System Password! I'm at my wits end! I can't even reset it because I need to put in my original one.
(And the strange thing is, once my AirPort express defaults to my 2Wire Gateway because it can't access the keychain, I can simply chose my Apple Network on the AirPort pull down menu without a problem!)

Hi, yeah, that can be very frustrating. Here lets try somethings together. When did you reset your password. Do you type in the right password? Apple passwords are case sensitive. The first letter of your password should be a Capital Letter, did you put that in. Does your password look like this e.g Apple180000? Try shutting your iPhone off and On. Try those and let me know how it went.

• I cant remember my system password

I just bought a new MacBookPro and cannot remember my system password, what should I do?

Resetting User Password in Lion and Mountain Lion
Boot into your Recovery Partition by holding down the Command and R keys whilst booting.
When the Recovery screen appears, go to the Utilities menu and open Terminal.
In Terminal, type:
resetpassword
...a small app will open and allow you to choose the user for whom you want to change the password. If you are the admin, be certain that you choose your admin user. Type in your new password twice and give yourself a good hint. Click OK (or Done or whatever) and reboot, enjoying the use of your new, hopefully memorable, password.
Good luck,
Clinton

• What is a default password in Lion terminal

What is a default password in the Mac Lion Terminal? I never setup any password on my MacBook Air. Everytime I used command line in TERMINAL (such as sudo....) they always ask for Password.
Thanks

Note that after creating an admin password, you can still arrange things so you do not need it to log in at startup.
To set that up, go to System Preferences > Users & Groups and then click the Login Options item at the bottom of the pane on the left side. In the new screen, select your account name for the item "Automatic login".
Note - you'll need to unlock that control pane in order to make changes, To do that, click the lock icon in the bottom left of that window.

• I forgot sys and system password

Dear All,
I installed oracle database 9.2.0.6 one year ago and I am using this database for RMAN.
Today I need it to do something else but I really forgot the sys and system password and i dont know what to do.
I appreciate your help on that.
Thanks

Hi,
>>I really forgot the sys and system password
Really ? or are you trying to hack the database ? :-)
You can try this too:
Use the orapwd utility in order to re-create the SYS password...
e.g.: orapwd file=orapw<SID> password=adm entries=5
Cheers

• Billing system password?

Nevermind how ridiculous it is just to get a new phone if you aren't an authorized user or if you don't have your account password (even though they have your name, ID, and phone number), but now I'm trying to activate said phone and it requires my billing status password, which I used correctly to procure a replacement phone when mine broke. Now when I enter it when prompted it's incorrect, both online and when I use the automated activation service on the phone. Why would it be wrong when it was right two days ago and how do I bypass Verizon's sadistic password policy to activate my new phone? I'd REALLY prefer not to go to the store because I've dealt with them twice already in one day and they are no absolutely no use.
FYI, my original phone's charging port was broken and wouldn't charge but has now suddenly revived itself. Maybe there wasn't enough charge in the battery to turn it on at the onset of charging? But the guy at the store determined that it was not the battery or charger and therefore had to be the charge port. I really would just rather send the new phone back and keep the old one as mine has no SIM card anyway and I don't want to go to the store and have them transfer all my contacts over to the new phone, and I don't want to do it manually either. It sure would save a lot more hassle than trying to get my billing system password resolved.

Hello unicornhearts,
I'm so glad to see that your original phone is working. Thank you for sharing this discovery. I know how much of a hassle it can be to switch phones. The last thing we want is a simple security measure to be a frustrating process for you. If you haven't already activated your original device yet then please allow me to be the one to assist in getting this taken care of. May I ask what make and model device do you have? If it's a 4G device then the equipment can be activated by doing a super easy device change on My Verizon and a sim card transfer. If it is a 3G device then simply send me a private message with your full name, mobile number, and a brief summary of the issue. I can get this taken care of for you. I'm looking forward to your next reply.
Thank you...

• New domain rejecting system password.

I recently converted a WL5 instance to a WL6 domain and when I try to
stqart the new domain, it wont accept the system password. What gives?

I've only recently discovered that you need to have a correct
SerializedSystemIni.dat file to correspond with your fileRealm.properties.
(I believe that it is through these file that is done the user/password mapping)
To get it started, copy an existing fileRealm.properties file and its SerializedSystemIni.dat
to your new domain's, and it might work.

• Lost of sys and system password

Hello,
What are the options when the sys and system passwords to 9206 on Windows 2000 are not known. I was given the database but no one knows the passwords to sys and system. The Windows o/s account does belong to the DBA group but I am not able to log on as '/ as sysdba'. Error saids insufficient privilege even though the o/s acct belongs to group DBA. What can be done to gain access so sys and system passwords can be reset. Thank you in advance.

• Moving folder on windows server: system password

At work I work on a mac, but our files are on shared windows network drives. There's one perticular drive which causes our mac users problems. It doesn't happen on all folders/files, but on some of them the following happens.
I try to move a folder to another location, but then suddenly my mac asks for the system password. I fill that in and press ok, but nothing is moved. The folder is still in the same location. This only happens om certain folders and the funny thing is: when I try it on of the following days, the problem for that folder is gone and I can move the folder to the folder I wanted it to move. But in the meantime there are other folders which can't be moved.
Support - being not into Mac strangely enough - says it's a Mac problem and I should update to 10.7. But that's not the sollution. Also because colleagues of mine who work in other office don't have this problem. It happens only to me and my colleagues at the place/office where I work. The windows server is at some place else so everything goes via internet.
I keep insisting it's some kind of permissions thingy. Support says it's a Mac thing. What can be the problem and how can I make it clear to them that is ISN"T a mac thing?

By the way, I noticed that with folder I can't move within a SMB share, those folders I also can't rename! I can move it's content but not the folder itself. Not on a Mac but also not on a Windows machine. I've created the folder on my Mac desktop myself. Then moved it to the SMB Share. Then I can't rename it and I can't move it. Have done this procedure several times and most of the time it works ok. But every now and then I stumble on a folder which wont move within the SMB share and in those cases I also can't rename the folder. The problem isn't that there is a file within open by me or someone else. It's like the SMB share seems to think there's some file open while there isn't. But that would be weird anyway, cause a folder can always be renamed even if a file in that folder would be open? Can someone shed some light into this problem? What could cause this bug? I know now it isn't my Mac's fault (which the windows fanboys of Support seem to think). As the folder can't be renamed/moved both on a Mac and a Windows machine. What could be the problem?

It is what you set it to when you installed WebLogic.
If WebLogic 6 then it is what you specified during the install
process.
>>>
If WebLogic 4.5.1 or 5.1, then you can find it in theweblogic.properties
as:
weblogic.password.system=

Hi,
I did not get any idea about local server.
Please Can you write it in detail? Is your host server Windows or *nix?
for *nix, on the host server, and logged on as the owner of the oracle software (probably 'oracle')
export ORACLE_SID=nameofyoursid
sqlplus / as sysdbafor windows, replace "export ORACLE_SID" with "set ORACLE_SID"
And I suggest you spend some time in the 2-Day DBA Manual, just for beginners.
Learning how to look things up in the documentation is time well spent investing in your career. To that end, you should drop everything else you are doing and do the following:
Go to tahiti.oracle.com.
Drill down to your product and version.
BOOKMARK THIS LOCATION
Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what is available here. Take special note of the "books" and "search" tabs. Under the "books" tab you will find the complete documentation library.
Spend a few minutes just getting familiar with what kind of documentation is available there by simply browsing the titles under the "Books" tab.
Open the Reference Manual and spend a few minutes looking through the table of contents to get familiar with what kind of information is available there.
Do the same with the SQL Reference Manual.
Do the same with the Utilities manual.
You don't have to read the above in depth. They are reference manuals. Just get familiar with what is there to be referenced. Ninety percent of the questions asked on this forum can be answered in less than 5 minutes by simply searching one of the above manuals.
Then set yourself a plan to dig deeper.
- Read a chapter a day from the Concepts Manual.
- Take a look in your alert log. One of the first things listed at startup is the initialization parms with non-default values. Read up on each one of them in the Reference Manual.
- Take a look at your listener.ora, tnsnames.ora, and sqlnet.ora files. Go to the Network Administrators manual and read up on everything you see in those files.
- When you have finished reading the Concepts Manual, do it again.
