Terry White, Adobe worldwide evangelist, shows you the exciting new features in InDesign CC, including the new dark UI, an improved New Document dialog box, and font menu enhancements that make searching for fonts easier than ever and let you see live font previews in your layout. Learn how to make QR codes directly in InDesign, and see how new features make it easier to produce high-quality EPUB files, with greater control over the table of contents and CSS export.

I just downloaded InDesign CC and can't wait to really learn more about the changes. I really enjoy the new dark UI to match photoshop and illustrator, but WHY are the strokes around dropdown menus orange in InDesign? Wouldn't it make sense for the orange strokes to be pink instead, and leave the orange accents in the Illustrator GUI for a little more coherence? Small detail i know!

There has to be a way to create a Re: Discover New Parallax Scrolling with Adobe Muse CC | Creative Cloud for Design | Adobe TV slideshow that fills browser width. It's not a problem for desktop, but it is a problem for laptops/tablets/phones.
How did the site in the tutorial do it? Terry said it was created in Muse.
Here is a test site that I've been working on - I would love to make it responsive w/o having to create separate tablet/phone sites:

Dani Beaumont, Adobe Muse group product manager, shows you how to allow site owners to make simple updates to published sites hosted with Adobe Business Catalyst, how to create stunning 3D-like effects, and other new features such as the Layers panel.

Great stuff. Very well done, Dani. I think that Muse is one of Adobe's most important products to watch. Let's get the conceptually convoluted and antiquated mechanics behind website design updated into something that allows graphic (and information) designers to easily produce websites that work smoothly.

  • Why is the time remaining going up as I install adobe inDesign through creative cloud?

Why is the time remaining going up as I install adobe inDesign through creative cloud?

Downloads have built-in "checksums" (I think that's the correct term that basically check to make sure the bits of data are being downloaded correctly.
Sometimes the previous check has to redownload the previous bits. That can cause the time to go up.
Also, it may be that your bandwidth speed is slowing down or lots of others are accessing the bandwidth.
BUT if the download goes way, way up—like instead of 12 minutes, it goes to 6 hours, something's wrong with the installation.

  • InDesign or Creative Cloud for print ads/brochures?

For small business- only 1 person using program.  Should I buy indesign or creative cloud?  All I need it for is creating ads for print and high-end brochures.  What would Creative Cloud have for me that InDesign wouldn't? Thanks!

The Creative Cloud is an "umbrella" name for all of the programs that are delivered/installed when you pay for a Cloud subscription

You may use the Cloud and pay monthly, which means you always have the latest version of the program... as long as you know that the Cloud version stops working if you stop paying
Or you may make a one time purchase of the CS6 version... which will not receive future updates Creative Suite 6

I notice your tools are very familiar with Google Chrome, which is still running on Webkit. Is anything going to change once Chrome moves to Blink? Specially on Edge Reflow, which you mention runs Webkit. And...what about supporting other browsers (coff, Firefox)?

  • CSS Designer in Depth | Creative Cloud for Web | Adobe TV

Get an in-depth look at the powerful new CSS Designer tools in Dreamweaver CC. Intuitive visual editing tools help you generate clean, web-standard code and quickly apply CSS properties like gradients and box shadows. You can see the effects on your designs immediately, eliminating tedious tweaking and the need to go back and forth to Code view.
    http://adobe.ly/ZSeWkr

The new CSS Designer feature in Dreamweaver CC is a very nice addition to the interface’s workflow. However, it’s not best for all workflows, whereby there should still be a non-assisted CSS editor option available, like in CS6, “without” all the new visual designer tools.
In CS6’s CSS properties editor you can quickly glance at the currently selected element’s CSS properties and directly edit the actual property values in a column format making this a very precise and straightforward workflow process.
For me, the ability to quickly edit CSS properties by clicking on respective elements in the design view editor is the biggest advantage and real power for using Dreamweaver over notepad type editors. Without this option (when working in split mode), it requires switching back and forth between different style-sheets and code view.
Though I really like everything else I’ve seen so far, in this latest version, this seemingly small feature restriction will considerably slow down my overall typical workflow process in most cases.  So, until a non-assisted CSS properties editor option is available, I’ll continue using CS6. Please, please fix this soon! Hopefully this is only a short-term oversight and resolved in a very near future update.

  • Issues with Creative Cloud for teams deployment workflow

The Adobe Creative Cloud for teams IT Deployment Guide lists out steps for IT admins to deploy the CS6 applications and then have their end-users license the trial software with their Adobe IDs once they have been invited to the team. There are two major issues with this document.
First, the media that is on the FTP is not for North American English. We are working to get that posted on the FTP site ASAP. In the meantime, you can find the CS6 MC media from: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/
[Note: Getting media from that page requires the use of the Adobe Download Assistant which is very consumer focused. Sorry about that.]
Second, in order to have the ability to login properly with a Creative Cloud for Teams account the system needs to have the latest copy of Adobe Application Manager installed. If you do not do this step the end user will be prompted for a serial number.
Unfortunately the Adobe Application Manager can’t be packaged with AAMEE nor is it a native installer. I know, I know! Here are the links to the Adobe Application Manager installers:
    Windows: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
    Mac: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774
It can be installed from command line by:
    Win: <Path to Setup.exe>Set-up.exe –mode=silent –action=install
    Mac: <path to ASU> /ASU/Install.app/Contents/MacOS/Install –mode=silent –action=install
Jody Rodgers | Sr. Product Manager | Creative Cloud for Enterprise | Adobe Systems

    Hi Boncker,
I see that you have an active Subscription under your account . Please launch any of the installed product and when you get the trial prompt , please click on License this software and then Enter the Adobe Id & Password for the account that you have accepted the invite .
Please do let us know if that worked for you or not .
    Cheers,

  • Will Adobe indesign cs6 books work with the adobe indesign creative cloud version?

Will Adobe indesign cs6 books work with the adobe indesign creative cloud version?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think, this question is a very good one.
If I have a *.indb document created in CS6, populated with InDesign documents from CS6, what to do, if I want to migrate my workflow to the latest version of InDesign CC-2014?
Short answer (avoiding trouble and headaches):
    1. Convert all your InDesign documents from CS6 to CC-2014 (*)
    2. Use NEW document file names for all your CC-2014 InDesign file types: *indd, *indt, *indl
    3. Build your *indb documents for CC-2014 anew.
    4. Use NEW document file names for CC-2014 InDesign file type: *indb
But isn't that a tedious task to do?
Yes. But fortunately there are some scripts around helping you with the conversion process.
    See Peter Kahrel's website. Especially:
Free script Batch convert/export InDesign documents | Peter Kahrel
    There are others as well…
    Uwe
*Before migration of the workflow batch export all InDesign CS6 documents to IDML and PDF.

  • How to Manage Creative Cloud for Teams | Learn Creative Cloud | Adobe TV

This is a short video about how to manage and administer Creative Cloud for teams using a new, intuitive web-based tool called the VIP Admin Console. The Admin Console allows IT administrators to add Creative Cloud seats, assign or re-assign these seats to team members, monitor storage allocation and more. This short video shows you how this is done.
    http://adobe.ly/ZDWoCl

Can I assign more than one seat to a user?
In our studio we have 7 workstations - so far we just had 7 CSs in Volume Licensing. We have licenses assigned to machines rather than people - any of the artists can sit on an available machine and just start working.
What is the equivalent for CC?
Do I create a single Adobe ID for our studio and assign 7 seats to this user and then use it on all machines for installations, or do I have to create 7 Adobe IDs (one per workstation) and assign a single seat to each of them?
