What's new in Forms 6.0

Hi all,
I have been using developer 2000, forms 5.0. I just want to know that what is the major difference between forms5.0 and 6.0.
Is there any book which takes a user from 5.0 to 6.0.
Also, I beleive forms 6.0 supports internet deployment. Is that means even if I donot use java or any other internet programming langauage, still I can post my forms application on the web.

What is the difference between a blank form and a form library templates when creating a new Infopath form?

Can someone either give me some explanation or point me to a url that would explain the difference of these 2 templates when creating a new Infopath form?

The only differences I've seen is the SharePoint has a default layout (table) and the blank is, well, blank. The link below says the SharePoint template includes "SharePoint Themes", but the theme list looks the same to me for both.

What is the best form to control a open of database?

what is the best form to open a database?
I´m understood that Environment is unique for all aplication, and I think that it is good to put on Singleton Pattern, but I don´t know the best form to do it with the databases.
I think two forms, the first is create a singleton open database, with this form I don´t will close the database and all application will use it. So, the second form is open a data base at the moment that I will use it, for example, into a DAO when I will do inserts, deletes, etc, and at the final of the operation I close the database.
So, I don´t know what form is the best, and if those forms are corrects, if exist another form to do it I would like to know.

An application can choose to use one or more Environment and Database instances in a single process. In other words, it is the application's choice whether it wants to instantiate a single Environment or Database and share it among multiple threads, or whether it wants to instantiate multiple instances.
Choosing one pattern or another is a function of your application's design, and performance considerations. As you say, you could instantiate a single Database instance and pass it around, or you could open and close the Database every time you get a data record. A third choice is to open a Database instance per thread, and reuse that for the life of the application.
The second choice of opening and closing the Database per data record access is pretty heavyweight from a performance point of view. There is a fair bit of overhead to the initial open of a database, and to the final close. Follow-on opens are not as heavyweight, but do have some cost. For example:
// expensive
thread 1 calls Environment.openDatabase() or new EntityStore()
// less expensive, database is already open, thread 2 is really just getting a handle
// onto the database, but still more expensive than a read or write of a data record
thread 2 calls Environment.openDatabase() or new EntityStore()
The first choice of using a single Database instance in your process will perform much better. If your application has a high level of concurrency, there can be some contention on the Database instance, described in this FAQ - http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/berkeley-db/faq/je_faq.html#32 and you may prefer to try the third option of using a Database instance per thread.

What's New in Audition 3.0?

Don't have time now to get into how they help, but I would just like to say that there is MUCH improvment in Audition 3.0...I'd like to say this because I've heard lots of grumbling on other forums about 3.0 not being an upgrade at all over the previous versions 1.5 or 2.0, this is completely false, for me in particular the improvement in MT View (editing: collectively trimming, duplicate entire track and fading improvements) are indispensable.
and most people don't even mention any improvement aside from spectral view (which is pretty big in itself, isn't it?) spot healing etc...which I haven't even used yet.
I just want to say, they definetly made some good improvements, while they may not be overwhelming to some they are entirely useful in my situation and I think for most people they would come to see they are definite improvements if they used it long enough.

It's a very helpful post because there is people who come to this forum when trying to decide to what recording software too purchase, and there's also people all over the internet who say that Audition is not better then Pro-Tools and more amateurish when in many regards it is more professional and has a better interface and GUI, especially if you're not doing too many tracks (less then 16 or perhaps more on a high end system). It's multi-track is easy and stays out of your way, has great automation, and some updated editing capabilities and has an excellent mbc that pro-tools does not have (maybe not excellent but very good)..and I believe pro-tools is a cpu hog doing certain things just like Audition is.
So people come to this site and I'm going to tell them the truth that it has been added to nicely since Adobe bought it and hopefully if people buy it will have another update to make the multi-track even better. It has a few bugs and downsides but so does pro-tools, I think the upsides are greater then pro-tools.
The only downsides are the midi is a bit lacking compared to other programs which have been in the midi-game longer, and that it does use alot of cpu for certain efx, and the multi-track is better in some ways but not as advanced in others in terms of sequencing and arranging, it could improve in that area, loops and stretching loops to match each other then being able to record how you bring the loops in and out in a sequence like ableton but in it's own way then it would rule the world forever.

Acrobat Standard (9.4.6) - Issue: "Acrobat could not create a new PDF form"

I have Adobe Acrobat Standard (version 9.4.6). I am trying to create a form but when I start the form wizard, locate the document to convert and click next, I get an error message "Acrobat could not create a new PDF form." What's wrong? (I've used this feature before in Adobe Pro so I am familiar with the process but I am using Standard now). It's not letting me upload my document (an MS Word 2003 document). Please, someone, anyone, help! I think I got a bad batch of software here. Any suggestions? If it's hopeless, who do I call for a replacement if that's the case? Is this software under warranty?

Thank you for your email. The file I am trying to convert to PDF and create a form with is a MS Office Word 2003 file. It isn't any specific file; the issue happens every time. I type my text in the Word doc and then proceed to open Adobe Acrobat Standard and use the wizard to create a form from an existing file. I tried to repairing the software but it does not help. Any other suggestions? Is this version of software defective? I really need this feature. I look forward to your reply. Thanks.

New smart form picking enjoy purchase order /SAPDII/SPP_ORDER

Ours is a new implementation project.
Requirement is to design a new smart form for purchase order.
The print program for the purchase order is loaded.
When I go for print preview the print program is calling the enjoy PO and not my form.
I checked in the transaction NACE
PRINT PROGRAM : Z_SMBZA_ZA_FM06P
FORM ROUTINE :ENTRY_NEU
FORM : -
PDF/SMARTFORM : Z_MMPO_ZA
My print program has 2 includes
INCLUDE Z_SMBA0_AA_FM06TOP.
INCLUDE Z_SMBA0_AA_FM06PE02.
Every thing is working fine except with the following piece of code
IF NOT tnapr-sform IS INITIAL.
lf_formname = tnapr-sform.
ELSE.
MESSAGE e001(ssfcomposer).
ENDIF.
Here I am getting tnapr-form as /SAPDII/SPP_ORDER and not Z_MMPO_ZA
If I change the field to Z_MMPO_ZA in debugging it works fine and I am getting the output of my form.
In the table TNAPR the field SFORM shows Z_MMPO_ZA
In the table NAST the field PFLD3 shows /SAPDII/SPP_ORDER
Can some one help me how to make the program by default read my form and not /SAPDII/SPP_ORDER

IF NOT tnapr-sform IS INITIAL.

MESSAGE e001(ssfcomposer).
ENDIF.
In debugging check what is value in TNAPR-KSCHL and confirm whether this is the desired output for PO printing.
Also check in PO Header --> Messages, what is the output type configured there. If it is not the desired output type, try adding your desired output type there and chek the print preview.
Also confirm the NACE settings are correct for your Output Type used wihile taking the PO printout.

Custom tax form 1099R overlayed by SAP new tax form with stack changes

We are implementing stack updates and with these were notes with 2008 Tax Reporter changes. SAP created a new form under HR_F_1099R, new form HR_F_945-08 (sequence #0006). We had a custom form zhr_F_1099R_cust that was sequence #0006. Our custom 1099R form was overlayed. What is the best way to customize a form, but protect it form being overlayed. Is there a custom sequence number or something I'm missing that will protect the customized form. We have had this happen with previous stack updates.
What do I need to do when copying the delivered PDF HR_F_1099R_mult to create a new custom 1099R to ensure that the customized form will not be at a sequence number that will be used by SAP with future form additions and overlay my form?

In the U.S. Tax Reporting Guide - That identifies using a sequence number of 99, then 98....the higher up the lower the probablility that your entry will be overwritten by a subsequent new SAP form.

Activation issue with new Adobe form in subsequent systems

Hi All,
I'm facing an strange issue in activating Adobe form.
The new Adobe form is copied from an existing form and assigned to a new output type of PO.
After tested successfully in Dev, we transport it to Q environment and other subsequent systems
But we will always get PO updating termincation error in Q and other systems firstly.
We go to SFP transaction and regenerated the Form there once, only after that it works perfectly and no termination error any more.
I'm not sure if I missed any step to activate the Adobe form as this is the 1st time I'm working on a new Adobe form.
I did activate the Adobe interface and form before releasing and TR consistency check was also carried.
Please let me kow if you faced the similar issue and what's the possible cause?

not really, someone else mentioned that it could be done and they said they saw it before. I've been beating myself up for a while trying to figure out how to get it to happen. Is there an easy way to get the content of the pdf form into an email body with plain text when pressing a submit by email button?

Web page composer : new web form

Hi,
this is my problem : I created the wpc_mini_article new web forms on my portal, and made new mini article.
All works fine.
Now I try to mage other type of article, for exemple like banner. So I copy the XML and XSL of the standard banner, and made all the parameters explained for wpc_mini_article, applied to my new banner copy.
After restarting the portal, all my previous-working wpc_mini_article do not show anymore, and I have this error message :
Cannot render container : Fatal Error: com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException: XML Declaration not allowed here.(:main:, row:1, col:8)
Also, I can create wpc_mini_article, but when I try to create my new web form (copy of banner) I got a blank screen with jus a "next" button....
What am I missing ?

What's New in iTunes U not updating reliably

Has anyone else seen this?
On our iTunes U site, items in the ‘What’s new’ section do not appear in release date order, eg if you look at http://itunes.apple.com/gb/institution/university-of-nottingham/id396415869
you will find that the 'Sacred Calendars' album appears before the ‘Pathology Minu Tutorials' album under ‘What’s new’ although the latter was updated after the former.

ive 4 ipods 2 classics a touch and now nano
my first 80g classic worked sometimes in 9.03 ,worked before 9.03 and when not plugged in is fine ,
2nd 80g classic not showing in itunes or windows xp in 9.02 ,again as above all fine when not plugged in .
touch 16g not showing up at all
nano 5th gen not showing up
But on 3 other computers all running 9.03 xp and vista all pods work fine no problems .my main computer the one with music on has the problem all was fine before i updated,and when ipod classic conects its still fine.
i;ve tried all steps
1 re-installed xp sp3
2 reinstalled itunes 9.03
3 5 r's
*4 reistalled itunes 8.0.2 still nothing,after uninstalling*this made my other ipod connect but still other 3 ipods nothing
many posts nothing back
Apple have said nothing
