What's new in Mail in 10.10.3 update

When I updated to 10.10.3, it re-built my Mail database, as there was a new Mail app.
But nowhere can I find what is actually new in the new Mail.
Does anyone know?

The Firefox What's New screen will not go away after updating to Firefox 10.0.

I updated Firefox to 10.0 on my Acer Laptop. Now every time I open Firefox the What's new page loads along with my chosen homepage in another tab. I can not stop the What's new page from loading.
No problem on my desktop, the What's new page loaded once then disappeared after that as it normally does.

What's New in Mail.app

I am about to buy Snow leopard in a few days and I use mail.app extensively. Just wondering about the new features in mail.app. is it faster? any new features?

Dave, in Leopard, Mail.app does not define the font for body text email unless:
1. You explicitly set it manually with each email
2. You use some kludgy work around like leaving a blank row at the top of the defined signature set with the font you want defined. Then you start typing in the top of the signature, deleting the body text space above.
Also note if you happen to explicitly set it to what you've defined as your default Message Font in preferences, then actually STILL won't set it. What you manually set it to, must be different from the Message Font set in preferences.
The above also appears to be the case in Snow Leopard based on the test emails I've sent.
Have you checked by viewing source of your emails in Mail.app and/or on other clients? I've checked with Mail.app, Yahoo, Google, Zimbra and Outlook. Sadly, with no defined font attributes in body text of Mail.app emails each client shows it's default. It's pretty bad what the formatting can end up looking like on the other end.
I'm not a fan of Outlook, but it does do a great job of making sure that formatting that recipients see in emails I send, matches what I see on screen. Fun part <yikes!> with Outlook is whether recipients will be able to open the message. With the dominant client market share of Outlook though for work email, it's unfortunately not a big issue.
My inability to get emails from Mail.app to our corporate standard font and size, at least for me, is a big deal <PIA!>.

If you have done so already, you first need to change it with Apple at the website my Apple ID.
(Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

Hello, on about the second step, it doesn't give you a choice of POP, IMAP, or Exchange? Or does it change it to POP if you choose IMAP anyway?

When I am attaching documents to a new e-mail I am getting Data Execution Prevention error and crashing firefox? What can I do to overcome this problem.

When I am making a new e-mail and trying to attach a document(Word, Wordperfect or pdf file, an error occures because of the Data Execution Prevention and crashes the program? What need to be done to correct this issue. I was able to do this a few weeks ago with no problem.

Nothing at all.
It still works the same way for me as it always did. It might help if you specified which email provider you use - for instance I believe that Gmail has its own way of deleting/archiving emails so you need to be more specific than ..."what happened to the trash option in the new iOS mail".

Ah! Unfortunately, I'm on a company computer and can't just try these things myself. If that's the issue, I can ask our admins and they'll do it, but I want to make sure I've exhausted anything that could be a small fix.

Problems with the new BT Mail on Firefox

I use Firefox and was having a couple of odd problems when either initially logging in, or once logged in swapping users, however on IE 11 it worked OK, well in a fashion.
In both cases the page came up, but with only the what's new, mail, contacts, calendar and settings bar visible.
After a bit of fiddling I found that clicking in and out of the " explore BT " arrow , top right, just above the BT Mail logo got everything working OK untill the next log in or user change, when I had to do the same again.
The culprit was Ghostery, which I use and like, to help with internet privacy in preventing tracking cookies.
It was preventing the " Omniture ( Adobe Analytics ) " tracking cookie !
After going into Ghostery and allowing Omniture, Mail is working reasonably well
So if you use Firefox and are having the same problem make sure that Ghostery, if you use it, or similar tracking cookie programs are allowing Omniture.

Hi Jig, thanks for that.
Agreed that the whitelist is handy however due to Ghostery reporting trackers for individual pages and giving the option to switch the trackers on or off , it retains the individual page settings, I prefer to set trackers, on or off, for each individual page, then should something odd occur in the future, a couple of clicks and a page re-fresh reveals if they are causing problems.
The two on this page which are switched off at the moment are Omniture no surprise and eDigital research, with no ill effects.

Some features of BI 7 are
1. In Infosets now you can include Infocubes as well.
2. The Remodeling transaction helps you add new key figure and characteristics and handles historical data as well without much hassle. This is only for info cube.
3. The BI accelerator (for now only for infocubes) helps in reducing query run time by almost a factor of 10 - 100. This BI accl is a separate box and would cost more. Vendors for these would be HP or IBM.
4. The monitoring has been imprvoed with a new portal based cockpit. Which means you would need to have an EP guy in ur project for implementing the portal !
5. Search functionality hass improved!! You can search any object. Not like 3.5
6. Transformations are in and routines are passe! Yess, you can always revert to the old transactions too.

New firmware update, anyone know what is new?

Upgraded the software for my 5800, but can't see antthing new.
Maps Updater still not work (same "can't get info from phone" message).
Also miss "New e-mail" clickable button for POP3 (only shows for Exchange and SMS).
Anyone know why there is no such button for new POP3 mail?
Istead you must open messaging when a new POP3 mail-sound is heard to find it :-(

But I can't 100% remove OVI Maps as the previous version is preinstalled?
Is it enough to remove the latest (so I can run the installation again).
What happends to all my places/bookmarks when I delete the CITIES.
And again, I have done this once before. And it didn't help. What I did as:
1) Uninstalled all maps applications
2) Deleted CITIES
3) Reinstalled latest OVI Maps
4) Installed maps with Maps Loader
Then I got the latest maps (I think) but stoll Maps Updater won't work.
It's a bit work to to this every time you need to check for new maps :-(

Can't reply or create new e-mail at all. Can if I go to photos & forward 1

Very odd behavior that started when I upgraded to the new iOS 4.
When I'm in the mail app and I touch the "create new mail" icon, it lights up but nothing happens. No new, blank e-mail message appears. Also, when I am reading an e-mail, if I hit the "reply" icon, I get the options for reply, reply-all & forward, but after pressing them, nothing happens. I just return to the message.
If I go to my photo library and forward an image that way, a new e-mail does pop up and I can send that way.
I have 3 different accounts on the iPhone and have for years. MobileMe, Hotmail and an Exchange account. They can all recieve mail and I can manipulate it (move it to folders, delete it, etc), but I don't get the pleasure of responding.
Obviously this is a huge issue. I had to replace my iPhone for a hardware reason last night. I had the Genius look at that issue too. He had no idea what was going on. He told me to try restoring my backup to the new phone and if I had the same problem, come back.
It's not that easy to get an appointment and head over to an Apple location, so I'm hoping someone on this forum has a solution.

To clarify, this has happened on two consecutive phones?
If yes, it would seem to point to dome bad data in the backup. I know this sounds less than fun, but if it is the case, could you try restoring the phone as a new phone and then add the email accounts to see if you can email then? If it still doesn't work, you can always restore your old backup. If it does work, you won't want to use that particular backup. That would mean tackling the pain in the tukus task of repopulating your iPhone from scratch. But it would all work.

Outlook 2011 for Mac stops retrieving new e-mail

I have both Outlook 2011 for Mac and Apple Mac tied to the same Gmail account via IMAP. After a few hours, Outlook stops retrieving new e-mail while Apple Mail continues retrieving new e-mail with no problem. I've already deleted the Gmail account from Outlook and recreated it. What could be causing this? Should Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac be re-installed? Does Outlook 2011 create a log during the e-mail send/receive process that I can review?
