"What's New in Pages" Splash Page
Every time I start the Pages application on my iMac, the "What's New in Pages" screen comes up which is very annoying. Is there a way to bypass this? I can't find anything on it.
Thanks.
Have you overlooked a checkbox on that dialog that says something to the effect, click here if you don't want to see this message again?

FF 29 What's New/Committed to privacy page keeps opening
The What's New/Committed to privacy page keeps opening. Windows 7 for the OS. Things I have tried:
Delete user.js and prefs.js. Didn't fix the issue.
Set browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone to ignore both via about:config and directly editing prefs.js (one at a time, and both at the same time). Didn't fix the issue. It just overwrote that when FF opened the next time.
Set prefs.js to read only after changing the mstone setting. Same thing, it still opened even though the file was read only and said ignore.
This is not a home page issue. I don't have multiple home pages, the what's new page is not in my home page, I'm not saving open tabs, etc.
Here is my support info:

Thank you for your question, there is a new update going out today, version 30. IF the privacy page is set for your homepage you can change this, however in the new version this campaign is no longer on the start up. You can click do not show again as well. -
What's new in Power Query January 2014 update?
I just downloaded Power Query Version 2.9.3547.162 (January 2014) and I'm wondering what's new.
The
What's new in Power BI page does not display any news.
Thanks!December is typically a slow month at Microsoft for all the obvious reasons. Because of that, we decided to focus on bug fixes and other product quality improvements. Over 250 product issues were fixed in this release.
There were also significant improvements to the Text/CSV import experience to automatically detect column delimiters.
One subtle change might take some getting-used-to -- or at least it did for me: the advanced editing dialog is now accessed from the "View" tab on the main editing dialog instead of being a mysterious button on the formula bar. -
Keeps coming up with "What's New" page everytime I open Firefox.
Everytime I open Firefox (5) it keeps checking whether my add-ons would work with it and then opens the "What's New" page. It's starting to get really irritating.
Is there a way to stop it from doing this?I suspect a bad add-on. Since add-ons often are installed externally to Firefox, I suggest starting here:
Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
Then, in Firefox, open the '''Add-ons page''' using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Finally, you can "mop up" remaining issues with the scanning/cleaning tools suggested in this support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
Does that clear it up? -
<blockquote>Locking duplicate thread.<br>

The problem is that EACH TIME I open Firefox 6.0 and now 6.1 I just installed it runs a compatibility ad-on check AND then opens the "what's new?" page AS WELL AS my home page in a separate tab. I then have to close the "what's new" tab to get to home page. I never had this problem with all other previous Firefox versions. Any thoughts or suggestions. Anyone else have the problem?
If I revert back to a version 5 will it keep my bookmarks? These versions 6,o and 6.1 are just a hassle to me. I run Windows XP home.Hi,
I just saw topic http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum82/HTML/000617.html with the answer pointing to bug 1869531.

"What's new" crashes the page when displaying a Team discussion item with a reply
Hi all,
We have a SP2013 site with a "What's new" web part on its home page. Amongst other things, it is supposed to display stock-standard "Team discussion" updates.
We have the following problems:
1. When a new "Team discussion" topic is created, we navigate back to the home page, but the topic is not displayed in the "What's new".
2. When a topic gets a reply, going back to the home page (where the "What's new" web part is) is not possible and it causes a crash.
The error we get is:

I am unable to get beyond the "sync with iTunes" splash page after connecting my iPhone; every tab is grey. What gives?
Is the computer the one the device normally syncs with?
If not, sync with the computer it normally syncs with.

How do I turn off that automatic update that always brings me to the "what's new" web page? It was interesting the first time, but now it is just an irritation. I can check for updates on my own, so I want to turn off this feature. It just started up when I upgraded to Firefox 5. I can't find a place to stop it from checking and bringing me to that web page. Also, I can't stop it from checking add-ons every single time I open the browser.
did you check the suggestions mentioned in the article i posted in my previous post ??

Whenever I start Firefox I get my homepage and the Mozilla "what's new" page in tabs. It is annoying.
Hi jhmalik,
You should look at [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+has+just+updated+tab+shows+each+time+you+start+Firefox this article about that specific issue] and the article [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved Preferences not saved]. These should give you all the information you need!
If that doesn't work:
# Type about:config in the address bar
# Click ''I'll be careful, I promise'' if prompted
# In the Filter input field type ''startup''
# Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
# Delete the text string and click ''OK''
# Close Firefox and reopen the window to verify that it has worked.
Hopefully this helps! -
My "What's New" procedure doesn't show the result Search result page
Hi,
I needed a "What's New" report for a content area. The advanced search screen has the option to query with the create date, but you can save the search with something like #sysdate-7. So I created the following procedure:
create or replace procedure whatsnew
(p_caid in number default 0
,p_folder_id in number default 1
,p_days in number default 7
) is
a_attribute_id portal30.wwsbr_type.array;
a_attribute_name portal30.wwsbr_type.array;
a_attribute_caid portal30.wwsbr_type.array;
a_attribute_data_type portal30.wwsbr_type.array;
a_attribute_operator portal30.wwsbr_type.array;
a_attribute_value portal30.wwsbr_type.array;
begin
a_attribute_id(1) := '10';
a_attribute_name(1) := 'createdate';
a_attribute_caid(1) := '0';
a_attribute_data_type(1) := 'date';
a_attribute_operator(1) := portal30.wwsbr_search_api.greater_than;
a_attribute_value(1) := to_char(sysdate-p_days);
portal30.wwsbr_search_api.submit_search
(p_search_terms => null
,p_caid => p_caid
,p_current_caid => p_caid
,p_folder_id => p_folder_id
,p_folder_caid => p_caid
,p_include_child_folders => portal30.wwsbr_search_api.yes
,p_attribute_id => a_attribute_id
,p_attribute_name => a_attribute_name
,p_attribute_caid => a_attribute_caid
,p_attribute_data_type => a_attribute_data_type
,p_attribute_operator => a_attribute_operator
,p_attribute_value => a_attribute_value
end;
Now you can call this from a dynamic page component (have it displayed as portlet), or include it as an URL item in the content area (/pls/portal30/portal30.whatsnew?p_caid=33&p_folder_id=1&p_days=7).
This work fine and show the search result. Now I've customized the Search Result Page, but it seems that wwsbr_search_api is navigating to a standard (fixed layout) search result screen (square item/folder links in stead of tabs) and not to my customized Search Result Page. If I click the submit button in the result screen then it navigates to my customized Search Result Page.
So why doesn't wwsbr_search_api navigate to the customized Search Result Page, or am I doing something wrong ?

Since upgrading to the latest version, I have viewed read and interacted with everything on the What's new page. I have done this a number of times but the page is still opened each time I launch Firefox. In addition it shows my homepage in a second tab.
Prior to opening Firefox it checks for add-ons.hello Michells, this will likely be caused by the user.js file in your profile folder.
go to the firefox ''menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information'', click on ''profile folder/show folder'' and close all firefox windows afterwards. a windows explorer window should open up - in there delete the file named '''user.js''' and restart the browser afterwards.

What's new page in help gives a 404
Hello, I noticed that the what's new help listed on a search in Muse help gives a 404 http://helpx.adobe.com/muse/using/whats-new-muse-cc.html while there is no active hyperlink to that page from Muse main help page.
hello raymond, this might happen when firefox is not able to properly save preferences in its profile folder. please try this: Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and then click help [[Image:Help-29]] > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "show folder". then a new window will open up. in this window look out for a file named '''user.js''' (it might be used to overwrite your custom settings). in case it is present , delete or rename this file and restart firefox afterwards.

Hi,
ever since I've updated Firefox to version 16 (or something) the What's New page has been gone. First, I thought it's just a temporary glitch or something (my add-ons are messing with it, or whatever) but today my pc forced me to re-install Firefox from scratch and I'm 1oo% sure that I wasn't using Firefox 20 back then. So, after installing the latest version (20) my bookmarks, add-ons and preferences were gone, still, the What's New page didn't show up.
Any ideas what I can do to get it back?This isn't the friendliest pathway to find it, but you can open the release notes for each version of Firefox here: [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/releases/]. There are links to the help articles for the biggest changes.

Why Firefox 5 opening the "What's new" page every time I start the browser?
I have Firefox betas since version firefox 4 beta 1, so when it's updated to version 5, I uninstalled firefox, and install the clean version 5 with my saved settings.
Everything went okay, started the browser and it searched for addon compatibility, opened up the What's new page. But now it is for every start, so it's very annoying.
I tried clean the mess but nothing changed.
How can i solve this? thanks, and sorry for my englishThis link should help - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+has+just+updated+tab+shows+each+time+you+start+Firefox

After update to 12 every start is like the first one (add-ons check+what's new page)
After updating from FF11 to FF12, every start of the browser is like the first one after update: checking the add-ons compatibility, and displaying "what's new" page. I could live with it but it doesn't make it less annoying. Help anyone!

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
Some security software has virtualization features that can cause problems by protecting and restoring files in the Firefox profile folder.
