What's New Pictures Broken after Lumia 900 Update

Just updated last night and now the pictures in the What's New section of the People is broken. It looks like I can open it because the picture does an action, but it does not open. Help! Can I roll back?

Thank you. I tried disabling my other extensions, but not CTR; the UI breaks in a weird way if CTR is disabled, and I have to manually restore it after reenabling the extension.
I thought there was no way to suppress the post-update 'what's new' page, but I discovered the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone entry in about:config after submitting this question and set it to ignore.

Stevekimplatt please try creating a new administrator account and apply the update there to see if you experience the same behavior. If so then it is likely the permissions under your current User account have become compromised. Also which operating system are you using?

Nokia Lumia 820 issues after Lumia Black update...

Before updating to the Lumia Black update:
1. Was able to connect the Nokia Lumia 820 to my home PC using Windows 8.1 and it was able to see the device and files on it as well as sync music from Windows Media Player to the device.
2. Was able to connect to the Nokia Lumia 820 from one of my Office PCs using Windows 8.0 and was able to see the device and files on it.
As well as to manually install Windows Phone 8 applications or install the Windows Phone 8 applications via Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate from either PC.
After the Lumia Black update, Neither PC can see files on the Nokia Lumia 820 nor can any application send files to the Phone's Memory Card or Second Memory Card. (SD Class 10)
Very frustrated with the Lumia Black update. Lumia Amber worked just fine.
I haven't changed anything as far as I know on my Nokia Lumia 820 device to cause said issues nor have I abused the device in any way.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Simply wanted to add 3 new audio tracks to the Music files via Windows Media Player but cannot even connect the device like it did less than 45 days ago when everything was working properly.
All my music files are on the SD Card because the file space needed is more than the 7.3 GB on the base memory for the unit. (Something like 8.1+ GB at the present time of 29.8 GB... which is the formatted size of the 32 GB SD Class 10 card.)
When the Nokia Lumia 820 is connected to my home Windows 8.1 computer, Windows knows about it but cannot finish the handshake to see the device and the 2 memory areas on the device.
Have to determine which programs that I have installed after the initialization that I want to restore.
The problem at the moment is that turning off the unit loses ALL Music Album Data but the songs are still there. This seems to have been caused by Lumia Black Update but not sure if that is true or not.
Have a lot of stuff to backup before resetting the device. Perhaps could upload everything to SkyDrive / OneDrive then restore the data after a full reset of the device.
I have all my cell phone contact data backed up but would like to backup all text messages too.
I have 2 custom applications that I have developed but are not yet setup using the Windows Phone 8 Development License as released products... that will be done soon.
Cannot backup the latest pictures on the phone... not many since the last backup but there are pictures that are not restorable that I would like to keep.
Would rather not have to do a complete reset but may have no choice.

Lumia 900 - Updated to 7.8 - can't change icon siz...

After updating my Lumia 900 phone to 7.8, I don't see the second icon in the lower right to change the size of the icons? Am I missing a setting or something? I click and hold down an icon, but I only see the unpin icon in the top right.

Your Nokia Lumia 900 was updated to 7.5 CR3 (Tango). The 7.8 update has not yet been released. It is still under development and destined for release later this year.
You can check your version number under Settings > About.

Lumia 900 update to W7.8

I bought a Lumia 900 on Ebay a week ago. It turned out that it was an unlocked AT&T (unlocking code supplied as well). Apart from Drive I'm very satisfied with it. I have found, installed & mostly tried the apps I need. (Why is MS using an Apple term, call them programs?) However, I have not yet been able to install W 7.8, there are a couple of new features I would like to have. I have managed to update to 7.10 (8779). I have tried forced update but to no avail.
Anybody has any similar - solved - experience.

The term app has existed before the iPhone. It's simply short for application.
Microsoft has stopped the rollout of 7.8 for the time being to fix issues with the update. Turn on update checking in Settings>phone update to have your phone notify you of when the update is available.

What's New Web Part will not show updates from Team Discussion Web Part

I have a Team Discussion Web Part which I want to show in the "What's New" updates Web Part. I have indexed the "modified" column of the team discussion and added it as a target list for the What's new Web Part, however updates to the Team
Discussion are not showing up in the What's New Web Part.
If I happen to tell the What's New web part to "use the below person column as a filter" and choose "Modified By", the page will crash with an error stating that the What's New web part caused the failure.
Any suggestions?

According to your description, I could reproduce this issue.
The following alternative solution consists in using the " Team Discussion " web part (with a customized view) in place of the " What's New " web part.
Alternative solution steps:
1. Create an index on the “ Modified ” field of the “ Team Discussion ” library in the Site Collection page in which “ What’s New ” web part’s functionality is needed
2. Insert a “ Team Discussion ” web part in the same page and position where the “ What’s New ” web part was intended to be situated, or wherever it is needed
3. Click on the “ Save & Close ” icon to save the page with the new “ Team Discussion ” web part
4. Click on the “ Edit Web Part ” option in the “ Team Discussion ” web part’s context-menu and click on the “ Edit the current view ” link inside the “ List Views ” section of the web part’s settings box
5. Choose the desired display columns in the “ Columns ” section
6. Set the “ Sort ” and “ Filter ” sections settings according to the following screenshot:
7. In Step 6 , likely two identical “ Modified By ” options will be seen inside the “ Filter ” section’s “ when column ” drop-down.
Selecting the second of these two “ Modified By ” options will likely cause the “ Team Discussion ” web part to not work properly, so please make sure to select the first “ Modified By ” option. If, in the unlikely case, after selecting the
first “ Modified By ” option the “ Team Discussion ” web part does not render properly, go back and select the second “ Modified By ” option and the web part should render properly
8. In the “ Item Limit ” section, set the “ Number of items to display ” to the maximal amount of items you would like to be displayed inside the web part (for example: 5 )
9. Click the "OK" to save the settings

Map Module broken after Adobe Flash update on OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2

As the topic says, the map module is broken after a recent adobe flash update on OSX 10.8.2. It's just a grey screen now when I go to it, has anyone else had this issue?

Unlocked Lumia 900 updates...

Apologies if this has been asked and answered already - couldn't find an answer
I purchased a Lumia 900 outright unlocked from a phone retailer. My 900 has the Rogers (Canada) splashscreen when booting up.
I use my phone in Australia and each site I go to to investigate my question says the Lumia 900 has no updates but then there's others saying Tango is already shipped on the Lumia 900.
I understand that unlocked devices are updated directly from Nokia (not via a Carrier), and I have connected and checked several times with Zune however no updates.
My phone details are
(Still says) Carrier: Rogers CA SW Variant ID106 v.02
OS Version: 7.10.8107.79
Firmware revision number: 2175.1002.8107.12084
Radio software version: 2.1.75.10
My question, is my device missing update/s it should be getting or not and if/when is it likely that Nokia will rollout global update/s for the Lumia 900's that are unlocked?

My Lumia was purchased from one of the first shipments of unlocked devices from Hong Kong (purchased from Australia for Australia). After the first batch the 'generic' Lumia 900 devices were released such as aspergerguy displays.
Fingers Crossed that when Rogers does make the Tango update available I'll get it via Zune.

1.0.1 is the new firmware for the iPhone. 7.3.2 is the new version of iTunes.
Apple has not released an official list of bug fixed for either. They have only officially mentioned some security fixes in the iPhone firmware. Users have reported a number of small fixes and improvements, but nothing official from Apple.

Lumia 900 update error 80070424

I have just bought Nokia Lumia 900, and everything works and looks very well. But the phone won´t update its firmware (current version is the factory preset of 2175.2101.8779.12201).
ZUNE update procedure keeps bombarding me with 80070424 error. Already tried restarts (both computer and phone), antivirus / firewall settings, and different wifi networks available for connection. Please advise.

December is typically a slow month at Microsoft for all the obvious reasons. Because of that, we decided to focus on bug fixes and other product quality improvements. Over 250 product issues were fixed in this release.
There were also significant improvements to the Text/CSV import experience to automatically detect column delimiters.
One subtle change might take some getting-used-to -- or at least it did for me: the advanced editing dialog is now accessed from the "View" tab on the main editing dialog instead of being a mysterious button on the formula bar.

Power Query 2.10 version has the same features as the 2.9 version, except the some additional bug fixes and the fact that it is the GA version. 2.9 was a Preview version.

Meld looks broken after (semi-)recent update

After Meld was updated from 1.8.5 to 3.11.2 about a month ago, it looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/j4mS0l6.png
I am using MATE and almost everything looks properly. The only other program with the same kind of visual problems is GHex, and it had them for a long time, but I didn't bother. I've seen several threads recommending to create a .config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini, but that didn't help.
Is there a way to fix this?

What could have changed the GTK3 theme? I didn't actively change it myself, and the change happened after a system upgrade. Thanks!
P.S. I use KDE as main desktop.

Bluetooth problems after Lumia Black update

Just updated my 1020 with the Black update. Now i cant listen to music on my bluetooth headphones. The headset is connected ok (and constantly), the connection doesnt drop. But i only get about a second of music, then 2-5 seconds of silence, then another short burst etc.
Ive tried deleting the headset in bluetooth settings and re-pairing but that did not help. If i just listen through the phone speaker, then there are no dropouts. Headset is fully charged.
Anyone else having issues since the update? Been working fine for over a month before the update.

Ok, managed to fix this now, these are the steps i did though you might not need all of them
Did a soft reset (hold power and volume keys)
Tried going to xbox music, had no download options, couldnt play any music even locally as said i had no license.
Noticed the time and date was wrong after the reset so set that to be correct.
XBox music now works again
Bluetooth headphones now work again.
So perhaps the root cause of the problem was that after the black update, the DRM on the xbox music files was kicking in and once the licencing was working again, all was fine.
Anyway, phew.
