What's ObjectId in Crystal Report 2008 for SAP B1 8.8

Hi all!
I am using Crystal Report 2008 for SAP B1 8.8, i don't know ObjectID use for what. In some report temlate of Crystal Report 2008 for SAP B1 8.8, i saw they aways use this.
Please explain for me.!!

This should have been in you 8.8 upgrade package.
This document explains quite a bit about how to create crystal reports and how to import into 8.8 as reports, or layouts.

Failed to retrieve data from the database crystal reports 2008 in SAP B1

Hello friends,
I am using Crystal report 2008 with SAP B1 PL 8.8. When I run any report, it runs correctly from Crystal Report. But whenever I try to open the same report through SAP ( Tools -> Preview External Crystal Report ), it prompts the parameters for that report and then open up the crystal report window and throws an Error message ("failed to retrieve data from the database. Details [Database Vendor Code: 156]").
Please any one suggest me the corrective solution.

I had the same problem in SAP B1 2007. Report worked fine except when it was open from B1. Generally there may be different problems. In my case the same problem was caused by using some procedure which was in a specific schema. Changing the schema into "dbo" solved the problem.

Do you wish that at all customer site all concern involved in implemtation do the same work ?
I believe ERP is meant for single entry system, and it should be true for implementation also, why to invest man hours for the same task ?
I expect it standard reports should be released by SAP, so that speed of implementation improve, we have more nos. of satisfied customers.
customised reports is all together different and it is understood that it is needed to be developed after study the exact requirement.

Connecting Crystal Report 2008 to SAP SRM

Hi all,
I have a customer that would like to use Crystal Reports 2008 to report SAP SRM data. Is this possible? We already have the integration kit.
What steps must I take?
I know to connect Crystal to SAP CRM all I have to do is import the ERP transports on to the SAP CRM application server. Is the process the same with SRM?

Try in other way, Open rpt file.
In Add-in menu > SAP > Save
provide necessary detail (Company Name,License Server,SQL User/Password)
"save as per your need"
Try to generate by this way...

Crystal report 2008 for B1 Join report of open PO, good receipt, good retur

Hi All,
I am new to crystal report for B1. I am developing a report for showing all open purchase order, good receipt, good return, A/P Invoice and A/P credited memo rows for selected project.
This is similar to open item report, but I need to show detail rows (items) for each of those Document. I can easy do a select token with project code for only one type of those document e.g. open purchase order (link OPOR with POR1 and select records by project code).
My question is how to do a report with those 5 types document together. I did try to include all those tables, but I canu2019t find a link between them. Or Can I do something link sub reports to include all those report by using one selection token? How can I do it?
Any comment, ANTHING will be very much appreciated!!

Hi Julian......
yes you are correct use OLE DB connection and when it shows your PC Connection then just put the necessary information related to SQL server and DB for which you want to create this query.
Once you put all these info then click on next and then finish.
It will show you the Command option and one more option in expand and collapse format where all the tables and views of database are present.
Just double click on command and paste your query report and add it......
Now its set to design CR for your query as per requirement.....

I am developing a crystal report in sap business one 8.8. I read SAP document '"How to working with crystal report in sap business one" I know we could link report field to Item master data window use 'http://$b1$/link?table=OITM&key='+{POR1.ItemCode}
I also can use 'http://$b1$/link?table=OCRD&key='+{OPOR.CardCode} to link to business partner window.
But I have trouble use purchase DocNum to link to purchase order window. First I get error of formular require string when use
'http://$b1$/link?table=OCRD&Key='+{OPOR.DocNum}
I did some search and found ('http://$b1$/link?table=OINV&key=' & totext({OINV.DocNum},0)). I add totext into my formular
'http://$b1$/link?table=OPOR&Key='+totext({OPOR.DocNum},0)
I run that report and get IE open when click DocNum with http://$b1$/link?table=OPOR&Key=9,917 rather than open purchase order window.
Please help me crystal report experts. I know I must miss something in there.

Help ! Crystal Reports 2008 for Visual Studio Hangs

I am using CR 2008 in VS 2008. When I try to set a data source in a crystal reports viewer the first time it hangs. This only occurs on the very first viewer that gets set. Once the first one works, I never have a problem again.
This has been a problem through a number of CR releases. It is not a new issue.

And like all other releases the delay is due to the first time your app loads CR runtime is takes time do so, all programs do this. CR simply doesn't load in your memory space until it's called.
Load a dummy report on the Main Form when your app is loading then close the dummy report, it will add additional time to load your main app but it appears then CR loads the reports quickly.
No way around this. Also, make sure your reports have the Verify Database on first load or any of the Verify options, CR will try to connect to the DB and verify which can also take time.

Crystal Reports 2008 and SAP BEX query. Issue in retrieiving multiple recd

Hi All,
I have designed a crystal report which has BEX query as a datasource. The values from this query are placed in page header. Also two subreports are available which get data from an RFC. Main report and sub report are linked by primary key ID.
(In the bex query one condition is implemented on a key figure) When I run the BEX query , it retrieves single record. But when I execute the crystal report, execution says 2 records and my details section is getting repeated.
I am unable to use filter as it is a keyfigure.
Any suggestions or help here is highly appreciated.

BEX query retrieves only one record (In the bex query one condition is implemented on a key figure) When I run the BEX query , it retrieves single record). I am puzzled on how the crystal is retrieving two records.
Actually infocube has 2 records one with status "active" and the other with status "postponed". Some other fields also will vary.
So, I cannot use this formula to supress.

Hi there, I tried to connect the trial version of CrystalReports 2008 to a SAP BI 7.0 system. So I have chosen "Login to Server" / "OLE DB Provider" and "SAP BW OLE DB Provider". Unfortunately, there are no settings to be made for servername and system number, but database and datasource. I do not know this information and I assume, that this is not the right way to connect. Do I need additional integration kit or something? Where can I doenload this? Thanks for any help! Best regards,Anton

I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 for SAP Business One. When I try to insert an image with a UNC graphic location (browse to a UNC drive for image) and I preview, Crystal Reports crashes with the following debug info:

Through Startu2014Run are you able to view the image by choosing the following path ?
sapserver\B1_SHR\Bitmaps\Versailles\" & {RSM_Inventory_Images;1.PicturName}
Also try to insert any image which is on your local hard drive and try. I think this is because, CR is unable to access the images which are on UNC.

Crystal Reports 2008 with BO Enterprise XI 3.1

Hi All,
We are in the process of implementing CR2008 with BO Enterprise XI 3.1.
We have completed the installation successfully. We can connect from CR2008 client desktop directly to BI-7 using the BO SAP Connector. But We have the following issues,
1) On CMC (OB Ent Server) we don't see any business object related roles in the list of values under the authorization. We see 3 J2EE related roles only. We did everything according to the documentation. Changed JCO (sapjco.jar) along with the DLLs to various versions and even changed the 64bit to 32bit but no luck. Classpath is also set in Tomcat but still we don't see any of the BO related roles.
2) We have created a connection to universe using Designer (BO Ent). But when we try to connect from CR2008 to universe though the Business Object Enterprise Server using the client desktops, we can only select the fields for the query. But when we try to confirm the query we get a message saying NOT LOGGED ON.
Are we doing the right thing ? We have BI-7 installed on Windows 2003 (64 Bit Server) and BO Enterprise Server XI 3.1 and SAP Connector XI 3.1 Server was also installed on the same server. We have client desktops with Crystal Report 2008 with SAP Connector Client installed.
What are we missing ?
Appreciate if you could kindly help us to get this problem solved as this is dragging for a while now.

Crystal Reports 2008 failed to retrive data, and instead deleted it.

I have been using crystal reports 2008 for the past year or so with our billing software through an OBDC data source. I was using xp pro sp3. However I recently upgraded to a new computer running xp pro sp3 as well, and now I am having some serious issues.
When I try to connect to a data source in the database expert, it shows all the tables, and then the field explorer shows the fields, but when I actually try to brows the data, view a preview, verify the database, or refresh an old report it gives me an error and DELETES the .dat file that the field was located in. I am so glad I have regular backups to restore too, because pulling a report nuked 5 .dat files.
The errors I am getting are as follows:
"Failed to retrieve data from database."

"Database Connector Error: 'HY000:[Pervasive][ODBC Client Interface][LNA][Pervasive][ODBC Engine Interface][Data Record Manager]The file cannot be created with Variable-trail Allocation Tables (VATs)(Btrieve Error 105)'"

and Crystal stays open but has just deleted the .dat file that the table was located in. It will still show the fields but no data. Trying to open the other software leads to an error "missing <name of table>.dat" It then has to be restored from a backup.
I have tried updating crystal as well as fully uninstalling it and reinstalling it, we have created a new ODBC connection, and cloned the database for testing purposes. The same thing occurs with the new database and ODBC data source.
We have no other computers, except my old one that has crystal reports on it. I have tried the old computer again and it is working fine.
Does anyone have an suggestions? This is pretty critical. Thanks in advance.

Hello, you could try turning on ODBC tracing to see if it logs anything. It's a pain to get going but here's how.
Go to ODBC Admin, Click on the Tracing tab and create a log file and save. Don't start tracing yet. Close the ODBC admin and then re-open it and then turn tracing on. You may have to do this a few times to get it working.
Once it's tracing then open CR and try the demo data. Then close the report, log off, log onto the real data and do the same with a new report. You'll see a bunch of ODBC API's but there may be one or 2 that don't look right or errors may be logged compared to the DEMODATA.
Another suggestion is it may not be your PC doing the deleting. Maybe the Server thinks you have infected the data files and it's deleting them. Have a look in anti-virus quarantine logs on the server to see if it's doing the nasty....
Check the trust between your PC and the server.
I've also seen this type of odd behaviour with corrupted Profiles. Check with your IT guys on creating a new one for you, it's apain because you loose everything on your work station.
What happens if you log on from another PC using your account? Does that also delete the files? Or get someone else who it does work for log into your PC, does that work? If so it may be your Profile is either not trusted or it's been corrupted.

Crystal Reports 2008 Export formats

We have a full version of Crystal Reports 2008 for use with our .net application. I also tried using the ReportAppServer's .NET assemblies but could not find a way to export to the following formats (this was possible in the previous versions of Crystal Reports)

Excel 8.0 Tabular
HTML 3.2
Looks like these are not supoorted with Crystal 2008? Can someone please confirm this?
I came accross a document that suggested use of Excel Export Compatibility patch to support lagacy versions of excel but could not find where to download the patch from.
Also, I did not find any document on what defalt HTML version the crystal viewer exports to. I believe it's HTML 4.0. Is this correct?

Install the latest patches for CR 2008, SP2, and you'll find the legacy formats have been added back in for Excel and HTML 3.2 is an option.
