What's that effect?

Hello,
Over the last couple of years I've been seeing an effect in feature films but I don't know how it is accomplished, I'll try to describe it.
The last dance number in "Chicago" used it, remember when Roxie Hart and Velma Kelley are dancing across the stage and the camera is dollying along? though the camera is moving smoothly there seems to be a jittery or almost hyper-real movement from the subjects. I saw it again in "Inside Man", this weekend, though the camera is still, the movement from the subjects has this hyper-real effect as if ever other frame were removed or something. I am sorry if this is a lame explanation but if anyone is familiar with this and knows how it's done I'd appreciate any feedback.

You mean like the intro in "Saving Private Ryan"? That is done with a narrow shutter angle - not sure how to do it in a video camera, but it is an in-camera effect and involves shortening the shutter-open time to greatly reduce motion blur...

How to make something like that on Logic? Guy uses Logic for sure, I watched other videos.

Look at the time at 6:00. He does something (I don't know how to call it) with sliders on his Akai MPD. It's not a sample it is some effect in Logic, or some option in Logic which you can do with MIDI Controller.

Trojan or what? that effects trackpad

I have a Macbook pro. Recently I was at a web site (a social site) and it asked that I input my email address to get further access into the site. I did this -- the screen said I would get permission to continue into the site in about 5 minutes. I figured a password would come in my email. None arrived, but at this point my screen froze up. I used force quit to get Safari to stop and to carry on, but my trackpad would not function correctly. I fear a trojan, for lack of a better term, has been downloaded.
The trojan makes applications and the computer hard to use. That is because it makes it hard to use and control the pointer/cursor. It also will cycle me to the Launchpad without warning, then back to a web page, or other open application. It is not always active. Sometimes it seems very aggressive, with the pointer jumping around quickly, where it is almost impossible to control or use. Later this problem will stop for minutes, allowing me to feel like it is no longer a problem. But it keeps coming back to the aggressive version.
I would like to solve this. Do I need to reload my operating system? Can I find a process that I can stop? If so, how do I delete a “bad” process?
The trojan does not seem to effect the functioning of applications. It just makes them hard to use. I can use my email, no one has reported getting problem email from me.
I have run several different free softwares (ClamXav, Virus barrier Express, MacScan), but also Kaspersky trying to find the culprit. No luck.
If this thing got me it will get others.

The actions you described are not being caused by any currently known malware and none of the software applications you ran will tell you any more about possible malware infection than a fully up-to-date version of the OS X that you are currently running.
If you have Java installed on your MBP, I would recommend you keep it turned off in your browser unless you find one of the few web sites that still uses it, in which case turn it on for only the time it takes to complete your activities there.
Also be alert for social engineering tricks. The worst thing that could happen by entering your e-mail address on a web site would be to increase the amount of junk / spam mail you receive. Just make certain you only use your admin password when you fully understand why and don't approve a certificate from a site or applications that you don't positively recognize.
Try launching Safari with the option key down and if that doesn't help, select "Reset Safari..." from the Safari menu and work your way through the options starting with caches then cookies.

It is not just an effect. 3-D tracking, camera tracking, match moving, rotoscope, keying, and other effects can be used to create this kind of transformation. First of all, I think you are confused by something.
You don't print cards. You print Certificates. So which item are we dealing with here first of all?
Also, you can't buy gifts with just Store Credit, so do you have a linked CC?

I am trying to figure out the effect of indexing on a Cube and DSO.
1. My findings so far indicates that Indexing is a database concept but so is partition but partitioning applies in the case of a Cube. Right?
2.What is the effect of Indexing on a cube? How is it related to the "database concept that I keep reading?
How is it implement in BI?

Hi Sunil,
when R/3 system is down the BW daily loads & weekly loads will fail.
the best solution is you can reschedule the job when R/3 is Up.
You can cancel the running jobs by going through
SM37 -- > select that particular job --> JOB (in menu bar) --> select released --> schedule option.

Unfortunately, questions like this are really impossible to answer.
The AirPort Express has an effective range of about 150 feet......so, if the Express is located in the middle of a large aircraft hanger, with no obstructions in the signal path in any direction, then you could expect the signal from the Express to cover about 71,000 square feet.
But, chances are, your home is constructed a bit differently.
Without knowing the exact layout of your home...and the exact construction type of your home....the type of insulation used in the walls, how many floors you have, and countless other variiables.....it would be impossible to guess whether a signal Express would be adequate for your use, if that is what you are asking.
To give you an example, my home is about 2400 square feet, single level. It tekes three (3) AirPort routers to get good coverage throughout the house and out to the patio area. Your home might require more, or less.

Finally getting around to this again. My previous post is incorrect, as the code I am using is based on the single period measure (it's right there in the code). I am having a problem with the values returned with this method. Occasionally, the card will return a lower than expected count, resulting in a very large (and incorrect) RPM value. I'm thinking this must have something to do with arming the counter at some unfortunate and coincidental point on the gate signal, resulting in a short count. It must be an unlikely event, because I get thousands of good, consistent values for every one bad one.
To resolve this, I am thinking of going to the single buffered period measurement as suggested above. My idea is to set up a buffer with two values,
and always take the second one (to avoid coincidental arming and short counts). I could also set it up to return more values, and the application could choose the most likely one (ie return three values, throw out the largest and smallest, etc.)
I would rather just use the buffer in continuous mode, since the RPM varies much more slowly than the counter counts, and any snapshot of the buffer at any time would be sufficient, even in the presence of overwriting, etc. This would allow me to arm the counter once and poll it on the fly.
My concern is that in continuous mode, the counter will be throwing a lot of errors which will interefere with the program flow. Can I just set the counter to suppress all errors when I do a buffered read? Worst case, I get a value as it is being written to by the counter, which will have some garbage value (hopefully a recognizable signature) which I can throw out in favor of the other values.

You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar
