Just got a new N900 and it's running on PR1.1, but it has an OTA update for 20.2010.36-2.002. My other one, flashed to global, doesn't have the '002' at the end, what's the difference between them?

its the version number, for example my old finware was the midle east one, it had 003 at the end .

What's the difference between firmware update 1.5 and 1.5.1?

i got the 1.5 update, but the newest one (1.5.1) does not show up in the SU which i am not concerned with... but what is the difference between the two versions of the update?

You're welcome. I have two other posts on the subject that should help.
They simply fixed the updater in 1.5.1 to include an update path for the ROM shipped with the models described above, of which my computer is one. Mine got the later update, so you and I essentially have the same ROM. I got fewer fixes since my ROM was slightly newer than yours to begin with.

Good question. They basically said I needed to send it in for repair. Afterward I brought up the version and was told it would be up to date if Software Update was completed. I mentioned the difference between the version on my iMac and the MPB and was told that perhaps the MPB AE is defective and not updating. I am just curious to know what others have.

Ok, ok, I know what it does but the description is a bit vague:-
"This EFI Firmware Update fixes several Boot Camp, start up, and wake-from-sleep issues on iMac computers."
Now my 'need to know' is; My iMac had problems when it woke-up, like big dirty lines of colour and burn lines all over the place (see link below)

Watch the various threads of past issues to see if others report any changes with their problems. I don't think those who wrote the update could possibly have tested every possible impact on every machine out there. Some users will undoubtedly see improvements, while others won't notice a thing different. There have been plenty of threads on sleep issues, and differences between applications whether running one way when booted from Mac side, and acting differently when booted from windoz side. There have been threads on random restarting, and on random shutdowns. There have been threads on AirPort malfunctions related to sleep, restart, and shutdown. Etc, etc.

What is the correct firmware update check URL for a Westell VersaLink 327W?

Hi, I was wondering what the correct URL is for the modem to check for updated firmware on the Westell VersaLink 327w. My model is the D90-327W15-06 and its current firmware is 04.04.03
To clarify, I'm looking for the URL that goes in the box at the top of the upgrade page in the router's advanced settings. That link is a screenshot of what my page currently looks like.
Since I first got this modem 2 or 3 years ago, it has never been able to properly check for updates. I've tried changing the URL to point to the Verizon support page for manually downloading the firmware but that doesn't seem to work either. I'm guessing the URL should point to a specific file, possibly an xml or something? I don't remember what the original address in the box was but it didn't work anyway.
I'm pretty sure I am running the latest version (04.04.03) and manually upgrading isn't a problem if a new version comes out but its always bugged me that the built-in check has never worked right for me so I figured I'd ask on here for the heck of it. At the very least I'd like it to be able to check version information even if it can't upgrade automatically.
Does the built-in firmware check work for anyone else using the 327w or similar model? If so, could you kindly copy/paste the URL on your modem's firmware page? Even if you have a different modem, it might help me figure out the right address for my own. Thanks!

#3 After you save the file, go into your router's upgrade screen.

one can be optimistic, and one can be realistic. One can observe the history of Nokia support and draw a conclusion and that would not be an optimistic conclusion. There are plenty of people who have contracts for phones that got a single upgrade if they were lucky. N95 has already had more than that (3?) with the last one dated 5 months ago. The cell phones that get updated are usually not 6 months between updates so every day that passes is like a nail in the coffin. So Nokia has moved on to N95 8GB. Contract has nothing to do with getting Nokia to upgrade firmware however badly it may be needed, contract is about making money for the phone company. The N95 8GB can just as well be called an N95 "i" version, they just didn't name it that. that means N95 "Classic" very likely "left in the dust" as a previous post articulately stated. You do not have the latest firmware. The latest firmware is version 1.5.
You should upgrade. Make sure you have a current backup and then select "update firmware" from within RAID admin. It will then ask you for the location of the firmware update -- it should be in /Application/Utilities/Xserve RAID Update.

I think it does, but I'm not sure; since I wanted MTP, I only used .x firmware long enough to save the original Creative test files (with MediaSource, not ZMME) before upgrading to 2.x. And yes, I had to li've with 2..02's shorter battery life until 2.20.05 came out.
May I ask why you want to go back to .x firmware? The only thing that will get you is the ability to use it with Win98SE/2000/Me--but only if you can install Creative drivers on every PC you use it with. MTP requires WinXP SP or 2 and WMP 0, but doesn't need any Creative software at all to work. (Microsoft has made an MTP driver for Win98SE/2000/Me, but it requires customization and may not be supported by other software. I'm tinkering a bit with the customization part right now.)
There are other pitfalls in changing Micro firmware families, in either direction--you'll lose all the files on your Micro, you'll have to install a different ZMME (and I've heard non-MTP ZMME isn't quite as full-featured as MTP ZMME), and you'll need a new plug-in for MediaSource to work.

If you tried resetting the ipod and it still keeps having the same issue you described, try setting the ipod to disk mode.
