What's the best, most reliable, Bluetooth mouse?

Hello! My new 13" Aluminum MacBook is suppose to be delivered today and I am wanting to purchase the best bluetooth mouse to use with it. My research seems to show the mighty mouse has serious design flaws. Any recommendations>

I use both a MSI and (ironically) a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse with my MacBook. Both "just work" as expected including scroll wheels etc.

What is the best and most efficient way to read a .xls File and create a pipe-delimited .csv File?
Thanks in advance for your review and am hopeful for a reply.

You should have no trouble doing this in SSIS. Simply add a data flow with connection managers to an existing .xls file (excel connection manager) and a new .csv file (flat file). Add a source to the xls and destination to the csv, and set the destination
csv parameter "delay validation" to true. Use an expression to define the name of the new .csv file.
In the flat file connection manager, set the column delimiter to the pipe character.

  • What is the best, most affordable software for a new graphic designer?

My son is an artist and interested to learn how to be a graphic designer. Looking for the best, easiest to dive in, and most affordable software for my new, shiny iMac! Thanks....

I would say Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign are the industry standard in design. But not the most affordable if your are on a tight budget. Photoshop elements has most of major features as the full version of Photoshop but is much cheaper. You can also download a trail version of the Adobe products from Adobe's website for your son to try out.
Also, look in the app store on the Featured page, there is a link on the right, "Apps for Designers". There you can find several image editing and vector programs he could try. There might be a few layout programs as well.
I would say if he is serious about getting into graphic design, Adobe products are the way to go.

  • What is the best and smallest bluetooth audio-only earpiece for iPhone?

I'm not looking to make calls, but listen to music/podcasts in one ear. Looking for a one-part peice that works well and is more subtle than normal bluetooth headsets. Beige skin-colour would be even greater!

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm not looking for a "bluetooth headset" per se. I'm looking for a bluetooth earpiece. Something that connects well to my iPhone  so I can listen to music/podcasts, and is small is what I mean by "best" and "more subtle". I mean visibly subtle.
Audio quality is not my concern as I would mainly be listening to talks/podcasts.
Just wondering if anyone knows of anything out there.

  • What is the best/most effective way to dynamically build a timed loop in LabView?

I am relatively new to labview (not to code in general) and am looking for the "LabVIEW" way to dynamically build a timed loop. This is what I am trying to accomplish:
I have several heaters controlled through labview using Labview's PID toolkit. This works great. I have no issues with DAQ in general. However, throughout an experiment, I want to change the set point of each heater. I could set this up fairly easily using either a timed loop or the wait vi if I knew exactly how many different set points there would be.
If possible, I would like to be able to read in a config file that includes the different times and set points for all heaters and dynamically create a loop that can handle this. I have tried using the Elapsed Time vi with an array of time targets; however that didn't seem to work.
Has anyone been able to do this? Does anyone know where I could learn about using LabView in this manner? All help is appreciated.

Write a tab-separated spreadsheet file makes it easy to use the write/read from spreadsheet files. Assuming you have a 2D-array of your times and set points it's just a question of setting up a for-loop going through the array row-by-row and extract the elements (expanded index array) to set your points and wait time.

  • What is the best up-to-date, reliablely accurate book for learning PowerShell?

    Hi,
In my previous thread, I asked why "get-disk" gave me an exception.  Thanks to this forum, I found out that WIN 7, doesn't support the cmdlet.  The book I'm using did not mention this information.  In fact, he distinctly lists
Windows 7, SP 1 as a viable OS for the commands he wants the reader to perform.  I lost hours on this error.
    Se la vie.
However, I now doubt the book and don't have time to ferret out additional errata.  So, if anyone has a suggestion for a trustworthy book for beginners, please share your knowledge.
    Many thanks!

  • CVI what is the best methods in binding graphs

    Hi all
I have run into a roadblock of sorts. The question is what is the best, most prefered way for binding graph data.
There are two ways of binding the graph data, one is the use of data sockets binding (easy), and the other is network variable binding(more complex) . I am trying to have only one protocol running for communication preferably network variable due to the systems manager, I would like curve away from the datasocket.
When binding a networkvariable to the graph, don't you just copy the received data to a buffered writer variable and then bind the graph to that buffered writer?
What are the benefits of using datasocket over network variables?
Are there any performance differences between the two?

    Hi Iriddick
I recommend using network shared variables to bind data to your graph since is a newer and more reliable technology than datasocket, the shared variable engine enables the network shared variables to transmit live measurement data. CVI configures the SVE as a service and launches it at start up.  This article explains the benefits of using network shared variables.

  • What is  the Best Storage Solution?

I have a laptop and an external drive E (where I store all my photos 9000plus). I would like some suggestions on the best (most reliable and long term) storage solutions. I was burning them on CD as well but now I have a Canon EOS Rebel GT (pictures are much larger files) I dont get many on a CD. I was wondering if I should get a DVD burner. I thought they probablly store a lot more pictures?? Wondering how many more?
Also, do I save all my tagged & edited pictures seperately from my originals (have two sets of photos)? And if so on the hard drive or on CD/DVD? Then I assume if I backup my catalogue when I get a new computer all I need to do is restore and everything is there?
Finally, any good stragegies on deleting pictures. I have 3 kids and have such a hard time deleting their photos. The obvious poor ones no problem but when I take rapid shot pictures they all seem so good. At this rate I will need to buy a bigger house to store all the hard drives and back up disks :)
Would love to hear what works well for you!
    Thanks,
    julie

The original poster asked the question whether or not to have two sets of photos (originals and edited).
What do most people do as far as this is concerned?
Do you include your original files in your Organizer catalogue or not?
The "workflow" that I have finished up with is this:
At the end of each day, I transfer all my camera shots into a folder such as C:\Negs\2006\0605\2006_0521Flowers ("Negs" because I think of them as equivalent to "negatives")
I do not use PSE4 downloader but use Fuji FinePixViewer simply because it came with my first camera and I have just continued with it. It makes it easy to rename the files to things like 0605210001.jpg (last 4 digits sequential for each date). I have tried descriptive file names but found them too difficult.
The word tacked onto the sub-folder name is a reminder of the general nature of the subject matter. I do not worry if there are a few shots that do not really belong but if there are a significant number of shots of totally unrelated subjects, I can cheat and artificially split the sub-folder in two. (The descriptive part of the folder name is pretty much redundant because of PSE4's tagging ability, it is really a carry-over from the Fuji program.)
I then go through and delete any completely useless shots.
I then copy and paste the sub-folder into a another folder named C:\Photos" which contains an identical sub-folder tree.
C:\Photos is watched by PSE4 so whatever is in it is automatically included in my catalogue.
I then go through and do my tagging.
I do my editing in the C:\Photos folder and save processed files in their original sub-folder but append _E to the file name to indicate that it has been edited. (I have a few other suffixes like _W for web images, _Q for max quality for large prints)
If I am not entirely satisified with my editing and think that maybe in a few days time I might be able to do a little better, I save my processed file as psd. Otherwise I flatten it and delete the un-edited version. (A copy of the original still being available in C:\Negs if required.)
Am I unusual in keeping my original shots outside Organizer? - my reason for doing it this way was to keep my Catalogue down to a manageable size.
As far as backing up is concerned, I have a comprehensive system that involves daily backups from C to D (a second internal drive) and monthly backups to external USB drives (used in rotation and kept off site).

  • TS1935 I have the video card model . What is the best video card for a 1.6GHz PowerPC G5 please?

    Hello
What is the best (most modern and reliable) video card (AGP) which will work in a 1.6GHz PowerPC G5 (mid 2003)?
I believe I have ATY,RV350, and according to the attached article, it may be causing video start up problems.
    Thank you
    Adam

    Hi Adam,
See japamacs page here on the best AGP cards for G4s & G5s...

Rated slowest on top, fastest on bottom.
Though with no power loght & such, I'm not sure that is the problem or not... does the Hard drive(s) spin up?

I want to get Logic studio, but don't have enough hard drive space on my 2009 IMac, running Snow Leopard. What is the best, most efficient, external hard drive for this purpose?

What you want to look for is not so much a fast drive, although that is desirable, but a seperate buss to run it from. What i/o do you have on your iMac?

  • Terabyte Plus Libraries - What is the Best Practice?

In my current Aperture library I have 150 gigs and I have only been using it for about a year. Previous to that I used iPhoto for a short time which still has a 60 gig library and previous to that I stored my images in file folders on a windows servers which I have around 500+ gig there. Then there are are those non electronic images which should be scanned in one day.....
My hope was to have import everything into one tool and eventually to have some better organization and management of my images. At the rate I am shooting now it won't be long before I break the terabyte mark and am wondering as I try to pull al these sources together what is the best Practice?
I know I can have more than one library now with Aperture, do folks manage their libraries by themes? Weddings, Family, Commercial, etc? I just picked up a 2 terabyte drive to start moving stuff off my Mac Book but am not sure if I should use the Archive tool to do this or break apart my images into libraries and store them them and just keep a working library on my Mac?
Within Aperture I am using the Project -> Album hierarchy to manage my shoots now as well.
Also, I don't have a ton of video yet, but have started shooting a little, plus have been making slideshows and books now, so I need to start planning for that as well. Just wondering what is the best, most efficient way of large data management with Aperture.
    Thanks!

The solution is to avoid the (unfortunately default) Managed Masters and instead use a Referenced Masters Library kept on an internal drive. Back up originals prior to importing and keep Masters off the Library drive. That way the Aperture Library will remain small enough to live on a standard internal drive without overfilling it.
Note that working drives (as opposed to backup-only drives) should not be allowed to exceed ~70% full for ideal speed and stability.
Multiple Libraries is almost always poor images management in a digital world unless all rights to the images, including the right to simply view any image (such as security work), belong exclusively to the client. Usage of multiple Libraries is a big backward step into film-think and very significantly limits the power of digital images management.

What is the best batteries to use with the Magic Mouse? I am changing mine every month, I purchased the IMAC in April this year.

Good choice...even if that do not last as long as Apple claims (like any batteris DO ) you have a set charged and ready to go...no trip to the store for batteries at 2:00 AM.  And far be it for me to advocate doing thie, any rechargeable batteries of the same specs will work with the Apple charger...they don't have to be the shiney silver batteries

  • Hello every one. Please let me know what is the best mouse to use in a Photoshop? Thank you very much. Alex.

Hello every one. Please let me know what is the best mouse to use in a Photoshop? Thank you very much. Alex.

My ArtZ II is on a Win2K supplemental computer. I think that the main reason that I keep it around is the 12 x 12 ArtZ II.
Next workstation will probably force that comupter into a closet and my beloved ArtZ II will probably go with it...
Even on my laptop out on the patio, if I have to do almost anything in PS, or Painter, I'll go grab my Intuos 2 and hook it up, even though it's a 9 x 12 and a bit big for the patio table (works fine on my various desktop situations though). I cannot be without my tablets, though I am not a fan of the Wacom mice that I have tried (2 still in the box). Best mouse is my Logitec cordless (hated its keyboard and got rid of it in a second), which has nice weight, the right feel for my hand and is just great. Still, I only use it for the duties that the Wacom is not the best at. If I open up PS, or Painter, the mouse sits idle.
    Good luck to the OP,
    Hunt
