What's The Best Way to Charge The Touch?

I've been just playing with the touch and its features all day until the battery drops down to below 10% and pretty much shut itself off, and then I plug it in for about 3 hours for a full charge. Is this a good method?
Oh and btw, Ive been cranking about 3 hours of wifi life on mines, which isnt all to bad considering that even with a laptop Im lucky to get 1 full hour!

With any device with a Lithium-Ion or Lithium-Polymer battery, it's best to keep it "topped off" rather than letting it frequently run all the way down. Such batteries only have a limited number of charge cycles, so the more you allow it to run completely down, the shorter the battery life will probably be. Whatever you do in terms of charging will not destroy your iPod.
Many people charge when it's convenient. Others just connect the iPod for syncing to the computer and leave it charging overnight, regardless of the ramaining charge level. Life of modern batteries is measured in full charge cycles. A charge cycle is either a full charge or any combination of small charges that adds up to 100% charge.
The only real recommendations I've seen (including from Apple) is to keep the batteries away from heat and have a full charge once a month. For this, discharge the battery to about 20%, then fully charge.

NO. Lithium batteries degrade far faster with deep cycle discharge/charges than with shallow cycles and more frequent charging.
Try to avoid deep cycles as much as possible. Otherwise, charge it whenever is convenient to do so. You cannot overcharge it so you can leave it plugged in when convenient to do so as well. Nor can you charge it too frequently, and even a partial charge is fine as well.
I have chargers at home, at work and in the car, and plug mine in whenever I know I am going to be staying in one of those places for awhile, and I never really pay any attention to the charge state when I do so.

It would do just as much damage (if any) if you were hooked up to a wall outlet.
Both of them to me are the same. They both charge about the same time and last about the same.

Just purchased 4g 16gb iPod touch and am wondering what is the best way to charge it...have been charging thru computer usb. Is a 5v wall charger better?? 10v?? How about a car charger with the same volts?? Thanks

Thank you for your replies...I got mixed up and should have said watts instead of volts. So a 5W wall or car charger would be just fine then if I decide to purchase these as well. I saw a 12W charger on the apple site that says it is compatible with the ipod 4...does that size mean it will charge faster, thanks again.

PDFs are just files. Can you upload files to your blog space? If yes, just upload the PDFs then, in a blog entry, provide the web link (URL) for each file (PDF).
Or, place the PDFs into your free acrobat.com "files" storage (5GB free). You have one as you have an Adobe ID (needed to make your post here eh).

So I got my iPod Touch 5th Generation on my birthday, December 29th. I know, and I've heard, that charging the battery fully from start to finish is good about once a month, as in you drain your battery then charge it to 100%. But what if I do that everysingle time I charge? I want my battery to charge the best way possible. Will it over charge it or something, if I always have the battery die, and then charge it completely? Please help! Thanks!
