What's the best way to have podcasts play consecutively?

I want to have, for example, several NBC Nightly News podcasts play one after the other without having to form a playlist. Is there a way to do this?

I'm afraid no one knows. You have to put them in a playlist.

  • What is the best way to have multiple devices on the same account so we can still share the same library.  Right now I have 7 and I believe it's causing them to malfunction.

I have multiple devices on the same itunes library and they all starting to have the same issues.  Not recognizing numbers previously stored, not sending/receiving tests.  Do I need to get everyone separate itunes accounts?

What is the best way to set up itunes on our home network?
One iTunes library per person.  One iTunes account per person.
If people wish to share songs, they can make copies.

  • Infoview - What's the best way to have Shortcuts to Reports?

Our Infoview users create shortcuts to reports that are in the Public Folders area
by selecting the check box next to the report and then selecting organise and add to my favourites.
This is placing what we thought was a shortcut to the file in My Folders > Favourites
The problem is that this is not creating a shortcut to the report but making a copy of it and placing in My Favourites area.
When the original report is altered then the copy obviously is not and is causing issues.
My question is what is the best way of just making a shortcut to the actual report and not a copy.
I understand there is also a categories area that may be able to add shortcuts but donu2019t have much info on this.
Is anyone able to let me know how this can be done and some steps in doing this?
    Thanks for your help.

If it's CR, then change it under the CR Job server.  If it's webi then under the Adaptive Job server if in XI 3.1 or in XIR2 under Webi job server/destinations/inbox.

  • What is the best way to have access from two separate computers on a network to a large group of data files and be able to modify the dat from each system?

Have three systems: MacBook Air, iMac 27, running current software and an older iMac 24 running earlier version of OS-X.  All connected using Airport through a Linksys router.  Have a large number of folders (2800 equal to 1.5 TB) and need to be able to update from both MB Air and the 27 as well as have some sort of at least weekly backup.  What is the best approach to accomplishing this? This is a small home network used to store audio books for the blind.

I would recommend a proper NAS.. Synology or QNAP are top brands.
OR, getting another lightweight computer as a server. eg newest Mac Mini or second hand one with large storage, USB3 or thunderbolt.
Apple routers could be pressed into service but are not designed for this task.. they will be slow, and without ability to backup.

  • What is the best way to have several opt depends for a single feature

    Hello,
I'm the current maintainer of the shutter-bzr PKGBUILD: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=30671 In the current version I added several opt depends that are all needed for a single feature: Dropbox upload. Currently all the opt depends are listed separately, each of them stating "Dropbox upload support" as the additional feature they are needed for. Is there a way to merge opt depends to a single entry in such a case? What is the preferred way to manage such a case (I couldn't find anything like this in the PKGBUILD creation guidelines)?
    Thanks,

If you have a form on the detail view of the web app and you populate the fields, lets say  "Product name" with the actual tag of the name as the value of the input. Then that will auto populate.
Since the user does not need to edit it you can even hide the field because its auto populated.

  • What is the best way to have complete security? Should I set up a VPN? How is that done and information used, if this is a method of further security. Thanks

Can anyone help me with applying settings for ultimate security and privacy. I like to keep the computer free from clutter and info, cookies, cache etc... Are  there any applications or support I can add to the already wonderful OS. Should I set up a VPN? Any advise or knowledge would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I have read several articles in which it says "the rule of three" meaning three backups , is this for real?
I don't think you understood the context. It was meant to say that your Time Machine backup drive should be three times the capacity as the drive(s) backed up. If your drive were 100 GBs, then the backup drive for Time Machine should be 300 GBs. In fact it should be at least twice the capacity. More being better.
I also thought about the cloning aspect but have never used it before.
Cloned backups differ from Time Machine in that they are fully bootable (which is not the case for Time Machine) and only require a backup drive to be the same size as the drive backed up. Incremental backups simply replace old files with new copies and new files. This requires using third-party backup utilities such as:
    Some Suggested Backup Software
      1. Carbon Copy Cloner
      2. Data Backup
      3. Deja Vu
      4. SuperDuper!
      5. Synk Pro
      6. Tri-Backup

I would also like to use SL as a second OS with this computer , how would I do this without using my internal hd and adding partitions to it as I understand that SL is the only OS that you can boot externally from the new OS's that Apple has used.(Lion/ML)
Technically, this is a different topic and should have been posted separately.
Any version of OS X may be installed and booted from an external drive. But, iMacs made after 2009 cannot be started from the retail copy of Snow Leopard. Snow Leopard must be updated to 10.6.8 to boot any of the extant iMacs produced after 2009. This does not apply to the yet released new iMac which will only run Mountain Lion.

  • I have two users on the same MAC and want to have separate ITunes libraries stored on my time capsule.  what's the best way to ensure that is done?

I have 2 users on a MAC each with separate accounts (email, photo, ITunes) and I want to migrate my ITUnes Library over to a time capsule so that each usewr still has their own library bu don't want to duplicate songs.  What is the best way to have both Itunes pointed to separate libraries both stored on the Time Capsule?

A bit of basics on iTunes.  iTunes does 99% of what you see through a library.itl file in the iTunes folder.  This file is a database and in it are references to the actual media files.  These files can be anywhere in theory, but if you have iTunes set to default then they are nicely organized in media folders in the iTunes folder.  You have probably moved them to some central shared location in the past, then built up two individual libraries around that central location.
iTunes is very fussy about a person dragging files to a different location, and that goes double if the other location is on a different drive.  You can move files, but it is best to let iTunes do it so it can keep track.  If this was just for one person I'd say go into preferences, select the other drive for media location, then close preferences. My understanding (never done this before) is iTunes will then ask you if you want to move your media.  Say yes and iTunes will move it and keep track of it -- for your library.  Now when you go to the other person's library, it opens and you see loads of ! because their library is still looking for the media on the same  drive as the library is located on.  I don't think it will work (but you could always try) to re-assign the media location to the external drive because the reference in the database is to look for such-and-such a file on the internal drive.  iTunes did that for the first library as part of the move, but not for the second one.  Note that typically when you want to move a single user's collection from drive to drive we advise moving the whole iTunes folder, library files and all, to another drive, but you don't have that structure.
So I'm not sure what to advise.  If it were me and I was absolutely gung-ho on doing this I would re-assign the media with one library.  Then edit the .xml version of the library file for the second library so it points to the new file locations and import this into a fresh iTunes library for the second user.  This isn't the perfect solution because nominally the .xml version does not 1005 replicate all the characteristics of the original .itl file (which cannot be edited).
Or maybe some other user bas a better idea.

  • What is the best way to allow one to send an email? Confused.

    Hi,
I researched on the forum for the ability to have someone click a button and be able to have a blank email pop up.  I use to use this all the time.
However my question is since Outlook Express (and for that matter now Windows mail) are no longer included in the new operatings systems ... meaning everyone has to buy a mail program ... what is the best way to have someone send an email?  I am particularly not fond of forms and would rather have them be able to have an email pop up.
However now you will miss a lot of people ... I use Windows mail thus the Outlook express code gives me an error.
    THUS MY QUESTION:
Is there general code (and if so what is it?) that allows a person to click a button and send an email no matter what type email program they have?
If not is there an other way to accomplish this?
If not, if I must use a form/action script 2.0 ... does anyone have a sure-fire 2.0 script that is easy to use/debug/modify?
    THANKS.

I don't understand what you mean by "be able to have blank email pop up" but Yes you can send an email without the need of any email programs through ActionScript via PHP through the POST method. There is a simple example in http://www.kirupa.com/developer/actionscript/flash_php_email.htm

  • A2109 - What is the best way to remove the cover that hides the MicroSD card

    Hello.
I have tried to remove the cover that hides the MicroSD card with little success.  So that I don't destroy it, what is the best way you have found to remove it.  Thanks.

    hi ourtech,
From the back, remove the two screws at the left and right side. For the bezel, try to use the plastic prying tool in this order:
    1. From volume key to the left (I/O ports)
    2. From volume key to power key
    3. From the side without screws to I/O
    4. From power key downwards
Also, be careful when removing the plastic near the volume button to avoid breaking the bezel.
    Hope this helps.

  • What is the best way to move multiple formats of songs/photos/podcasts to a new computer?

For most of my life, I have used my family's home Windows desktop to establish my iTunes account with my iPod Classic (5th gen). On this computer I have:
    iTunes store purchases
    CD imports
    Other MP3 files
    Podcasts
    Photos downloaded from online
Now I am in college in another city, and I won't be able to come home much, so I'm setting up iTunes on my laptop as my new "home base", as it were. I've already authorized it under the same account that I use on my desktop. What is the best way to move all of this stuff from my old computer to my new one? I'm thinking an external hard drive is the best decision, but I want the input of the Apple community. You guys are much more knowledgable than I am! Thanks!

    Hey Alayna,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities, and thanks for the question! I'm not really in a position to recommend a "best" option, as there are several different ways to go. You can read over your options in the following document and decide which one works best for you:

  • HT1386 My iPhone 4S will not sync with the music I have selected in iTunes.  Has anyone else had this issue and what is the best way to fix it.

My iPhone 4S will not sync with the music I have selected in iTunes.  Has anyone else had this issue and what is the best way to fix it.

    Hi,
    Setting up syncing
Before setting up syncing you should download and install the latest version of iTunes. Wi-Fi syncing requires iTunes 10.5 or later and iOS 5 or later. You can change your sync options at any time. Each time you sync, content is synced between your iOS device and computer to reflect new, updated, or deleted content.
    USB syncing
    Open iTunes.
Connect the iOS device to your computer using the included USB cable and select it in iTunes under Devices on the left-hand side. Some tabs may not appear if you do not have corresponding content in your library. For example if you do not have any podcasts in your library, the corresponding Podcast tab will not appear.
Click Apply, in the lower-right corner of the screen, to sync.
    Wi-Fi syncing
    Open iTunes
To set up Wi-Fi syncing, connect your iOS device to your computer with the included USB cable. Select your device under Devices on the left-hand side.
In the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi".
Whenever the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes, and you can sync it. The iOS device will sync automatically when all of the following are true:
The iOS device is plugged in to power
iTunes is open on the computer
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network
While the iOS device appears in the left-hand column of iTunes, you can select the content tabs and configure sync options.
Click Apply or Sync to sync the iOS device.
    Hope this helps

  • What is the best way to set up iTunes on our home network so all family members have access to all of our itunes library, even music we don't have on the cloud?

I have five different people using 10 different apple devices on one itunes account in our family.  We have had trouble sharing.  What is the best way to set up itunes on our home network?  We have purchased music that sits on icloud, but we also have music we have imported from our previous cd library.  Our itunes program keeps crashing and dumping everyone's playlists.  So far we have all been using just the one desktop computer to sync to because we can't figure out how to share the same librarly and playlists on multiple computers in our home so devices can be synced at any location as well as playlists and purchases be made.

What is the best way to set up itunes on our home network?
One iTunes library per person.  One iTunes account per person.
If people wish to share songs, they can make copies.

  • I have an old 30" apple cinema display (2005) I want to use as a 2nd monitor to a new iMac (2012).  I don't just want mirror image of iMac; what's the best way to do this?

I have not bought the iMac yet but will do so very soon and just want to make sure I have what I need to get everything setup including adding the old faithful 2005 30" cinema display.  Currently I am driving the old 30" cinema display with a macbook pro also purchased 2005 and happy to say I got a lot of good miles out of this rig.  What's the best way to connect the old 30" monitor as a second display for the new generation iMacs?
    Other Questions
I can find online new in unopened box a 2012 iMac 27" i7 with 1T Fusion Drive for $1899 no sales tax.  This seems like a pretty good deal since I notice the same is available from Apple refurbished for $100 more plus sales tax.  I know that they say the Fusion drive is a lot faster on 2013 models but some of the speed tests I reviewed online showed the 2012 i7 and 2013 i7 very close on speed for both storage and processing.  Any thoughts?
I don't like changing batteries so I would buy a separate Apple keyboard with numeric pad since it only comes with wireless keyboard.  I'm a trackpad enthusiast having been using my macbook pro trackpad with current set up; and I am prepared to buy the Apple trackpad and replace batteries every 2 months but I would greatly prefer USB connection and rechargeable trackpact.  I know Logitech makes one so if anyone is using and knows how it compares to Apple's I'm all ears.

    <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5891>
You can use USB for the Apple trackpad.
