I am currently reading a string from a document file and dump the content in a field in a row in a rowset in the xml file. I am just wondering if there is a better way to do this using the name of the text file instead. Thanks.

Probably each cover page is different too. I would probably just bite the bullet and do each individually. I would create the 2 cover pages in WORD or other word processor and print to cover.pdf. Then open a PDF and Pages>Insert Pages or the cover.pdf to the front of the open PDF and save as to the current PDF. Then repeat 299 times. Each time you would make the appropriate change to the DOC file and print a new cover.pdf file (you might want to turn off open in Acrobat for this processing in the printer properties to save time). Probably a good idea to keep a list of the files to check off what has been done (you can generate a list in DOS by Start>cmd, change the directory to your location [cd path], and do "dir >>list.txt". That will give you a list to use.). There may be an easier way, but by the time you get it figured out you might be done this way.

If you want to APPEND data( add data to an existing excel file) from SAP, then use GUI_DOWNLOAD fm with APPEND = 'X' paramter.

What is the best way to set up Facetime if using multiple computers with one apple ID?

I currently have FaceTime setup on my iPad 2 using my normal appleID, but have just recently upgraded our iMac from Leopard to Snow leopard, and have added FaceTime to that computer as well. So my question is this. If I want to avoid confusion with which device is called when someone calls us using FaceTime, what is the best way to distinguish the devices? Should I try to use a different email address to reach the iMac? Is there a best-known-method for this?

250Gb SSD is a good size, but you can still run short, and that will affect Windows performance. When you get your system, instal WinDirStat which gives you a graphic display of everything on your drive, like below. Clicking on any of the large areas will tell you what and where they are, so you can think about moving cache folders etc. to one of the HDDs.
Leave the Pagefile.sys on the boot drive. Think about disabling Hyphenate as it takes a ton of space, and too often crashes on wake up.

Think about another 500Gb drive just for Photoshop Scratch. Drives are cheap as chips nowadays
Do yourself a favour, and invest $100 in Shadow Protect (or similar if there is such a thing) SP saves incremental backups every 15 minutes (you can set the interval, but it has no impact on performance with a system like yours). If you have a problem you can mount the back up at any of those 15 minute points, and open files from it. You can also make a bootable DVD image of your C drive, and be back up and running five minutes after disaster strikes.

What is the best way to create a multilingual site using adobe Muse?

hello, inside Muse its ok with linking the menus to the different language sites, BUT if my site in german have 20 pages and i have to made the tablett and sphone version, will this be to heavy for Muse ? (of course the images will be optimised to the best size)… OR when i make a different muse document in english and upload it in a subdirectory on my hosting, how must the name of this english site of my german be? and how can i link them ?

For me, as a noob, It's all about creative problem solving.
For lots of stuff, there's no right or wrong solution, but you have
to figure things out on your own. I, too, have built sites from the
ground up, and then rebuilt them even better. It's the only way to
really learn it well. Books, online forums, help docs all sort of
help, but it all comes down to how innovative you can be with
integrating them all into a site that is completely yours.
This might save you loads of headaches: avoid using scenes,
unless you are doing only animation. Keep each of your 'pages' on
their own keyframe, and use 'gotoAndStop' to navigate through them.
This is perhaps the easiest way to create a website quickly.

What's the best way to insert a numbers sheet into pages?

I have some spreadsheets in numbers that I want to insert in pages...somehow it's not so intuitive.
First of all when I paste them in a pages text box...a part of the sheets fall off the botom of the page

What is the best way to Insert BLOB in DB?

We are having a Table containing BLOB datatype & trying to populate it using JDBC. But simple insert is not allowing us to insert the data into table. As the alternative we used to firstly insert a empty_blob & later on update it using FOR UPDATE query resultset. This update operation is quite costly for our application & thus resulting in the drop of performance. Kindly suggest a better way to do the operation in a less costly & standard way.

Hey, I think I’ve managed to crack it. So, I compressed my .html files to zip files. The HTML5 animation feature allows you to import zip files. So I imported the zip files into a Captivate slide and published the project to my desktop. On viewing it worked perfectly – maintaining all CSS. Perfect.

What is the best way to compress for streaming internet use?

I have been having some problems using compressor when using the Mpeg-4 internet streaming option. I am compressing from Final Cut Pro HD.
When I send these 1 to 2 1/2 minute clips to compressor, it opens up the batch monitor, and within a split second, it vanishes and doesn't compress at all. What could be causing this?
Am I doing something wrong?

Compressor is a good way to do it if you have a large batch and have other things to do. For quick one-offs, I use QT 7 Pro.
They get all the way to the Batch Monitor, then you never see the successful message? I would try some trial and error experiments. Export to QT mov. Then load that to compressor. The link between FCP and Compressor could be broken. It happened to me.

What is the best way to Sample Vocals from iTunes using Logic?

If you use Melodyne (with the new DNA feature) you can simply open Melodyne as a standalone app, drag the song into Melodyne and you can selectively start removing instrumentation to leave only the vocals.
It is an amazing app. I used it to mess up the chords in Day Tripper and played it back for some folks and told them it was a "bootleg" recording. You can have a lot of fun with Melodyne beyond the usual Logic plug functionality (time/pitch correction).

What is the best way to run two programs simulataneously using the output from one to run the other?

I just kind of wanted to get an opinion from some people on here. I have two main VIs. The first is a DAQ system that reads 99 different sensors and feeds that data into an array. The second is a real-time processing system that is designed to take the array and do numerous calculations. Both VIs output data to the front panel that I want to see, so I don't want to just use one as a SubVI.
Is there a simple way to run both VIs, using the output from the DAQ system to feed the processor so that you can easily see the front panels of both VIs? I had considered just copying the real-time processor code into the DAQ VI, but I'm worried the resultant VI will be very large and unsightly.
On a side note, am I over thinking this? Excuse me if this is a rather dumb question, it's been a long week...aaaand it's Wednesday.

There are a number of ways that you can go about this, but having both front panels open isn't a problem (assuming there is screen space!). Both could be sub-vi's of another "calling" vi, with their front panels set to open when called. The data from the DAQ side can be sent to the other through a number of ways, "producer-consumer" (many threads about this topic, examples in the LabVIEW examples, etc.) is one of the more robust techniques. If created correctly it allows one to run at a different rate than the other, although if the producer is "producing" much faster than the consumer can "consume" it will end up with problems.

Another take on naming files, particularly image files, is like this:
I use a file remaning application like Name Mangler to back, sequentially rename the photos. I put them in a folder with a similar name. Using the format I do, YYYY-MM-DD- Description-001.jpg, they are easy to sort by date by sorting alphanumerically.

What is the best way to use single shot drum sounds?

I have a huge collection of wav. format single sound drum sounds that I use in FL Studio. What is the best way to program drums in GB using them besides buying iDrum? I like the flexibility of using drums from different kits when I make my music so I kind of get board using a preset drum kit from GB even layering 3-4 kits isn't as nice as choosing each individual drum sound.

Would be great to have more info but on a 24fps timeline with 24fps footage, you can simply right click and change the speed/duration to whatever. It'll be more jittery than smooth 60fps slow-mo. If your footage is shot at 60fps and you are editing on a 24fps timeline, just select the clip and right-click and choose MODIFY>Interpret footage and change the fps to 23.976 and you're done. Now when you drop that clip on the timeline it's in smooth slow-mo. Or, you can just toss the original clip on the timeline and change the speed/duration setting to 40%. Pretty much the same thing although the former is better if you need to add any warp stabilization to the clip. Anything you want to speed back up you can either duplicate the clip in the project panel and change it back to the original frame rate OR you can simply adjust it on the timeline to 250% speed which is back to normal.
