What's the button for on the right side of the ipad2 over the volume button?

I have found a button over the volume button on the upper right hand side of the ipad2. Where I push up on down a bell appears. What is this for? How does it work. Thank you for your patience.

Go to your home screen, and then press the volume down or up button. It should say Ringer instead of volume. If it doesn't do that, try going into the clock app and try it there.

I am getting similar kernel panics, usually once a day, on my 2006 Xserve running 10.6.8 server. I have 6 ECC enabled 2GB sticks installed, with DIMM slots 7 & 8 empty. All DIMMS show no ECC errors. What does the volume number mean?

If I import a song and use "Get Info", under "Summary" there is a "Volume" setting at the bottom of the column on the left side that is different for every song. Exactly what does that number mean. Thank you so much.

Has to do with Soundcheck trying to normalize volume level between tracks.

What is the Aperture 3 library volume limit?

When I attempt to import photos from my Nikon D90 into Aperture 3 I receive the following message: There is not enough free space on your Aperture Library volume to import the selected items. It is estimated that you need at least 333MB of additional free space.
I have about 10GB of free space on my HD so seemingly the volume limit appears to be specific to the software itself. What is the volume limit in Aperture 3? Assuming I have reached the limit, what are the suggested best ways to store folders or free up a sizeable amount of space within Aperture?

Hard dries slow as they fill and become unstable at some unknown point; handling large chunks of data can become problematic. And less-than-ideal RAM will exacerbate HDD issues.
As a guideline I strongly recommend not exceeding ~70% full. Having just 10 GB free HDD space you are asking for a data-destroying crash. You should offload data to an external drive immediately. Do not try to work until you have at least 100 GB free space on that internal HDD.
Of course often a boot drive will still function 90+% full, but not always. And overfilled HDDs are always slow.
Hard drives are dirt cheap now. There is no reason to put data at risk by overfilling hard drives.
Solid State Drives (SSDs) do not suffer from the same limitations as HDDs but still need some free space available.
23k D90 photos is not very many. Buy a 2-TB external hard drive and reference the photos to your external HDD by (from within Aperture) relocating the originals/Masters to the external HDD. In addition original image files must be separately backed up to yet another drive. In the future do that backup of originals before importing into Aperture.

They will never do any of the things you are requesting in my opinion. Apple doesn't care able what the customers want. They only care about what they think the customer wants. Look at iTunes. All music softwares are moving towards mp3tags except iTunes. It ***** because if I change my file name it no longer knows the file still exist. With mp3tags I would not care the name of the file. It would only care about the song title, artist, album..etc..It's still crap. Yet it's still being used by millions. I myself use it even though I hate it. It's all about numbers too with apple. How many device sold. Not how many happy customers. They will never allow SD cards since they would not be able to sell any device great than 16GB. No HDMI because they expect you to buy the $30 converter. No attachments because well they don't want to give access to the file system. No flash because html5 is the feature. App developers better get with it or apple would leave them behind :)...I think the multitasking is great.
Since the first iPod came out people been complaining about the ability to sync with multiple iTunes. Years later it still hasn't change but apple stocks only grows higher LOL :)

In this photo from Apple on resetting the "cuda" or "pmu", there is the proper button circled for the reset. My question maybe silly, but WHAT is the button just to the right of it for ??   ..... It must be important enough to HAVE a BUTTON ?? ..... shown in this photo.
OK, here it is, just outside the red circle, to the right. It must be Important enough to HAVE a BUTTON, yet I have not seen , or heard of it being mentioned anywhere ???   .....   I have this very machine and I am expierencing some problems with it, and I find myself so tempted and wanting to push it !!, ... I have done the cuda reset with some success, still not working correctly though, machine only responds to power button on the front, not to the k/b button, (it did before) even used another k/b, both known to be good. Since this problem started, cuda reset has been done a few times, with some time intervals between them, battery tested, new battery, etc., etc.
On my screen here, near the top, is a column titled, "more like this", in it is a "green checked" answer that reads; After resetting cuda / pmu, doesn't power up, 400mhz imac (<not my machine, I know) what next" answered by "Spudnuty", IN his reply's he mentions a list called "Symptoms / Cures Tables", related to pmu / cuda problems as I read it. Yet I have not found any such list by doing searches varying how I word it.
Would You know of this list ?, or if it is still available ? ..... I had no luck looking for it, ..... wayne146 ....

I had to reinstall FF4 during a virus cleaning process, and there are now 4 control buttons displayed in the upper right corner of the window. From the right, there's the usual "Close" (red), "Restore down" and "Minimize" buttons (both blue), and then there's a fourth, green button, with no "ToolTip" associated with it. What's the behavior of this new button?
I'm not normally this curious, but I've just had a battle with the "Antivirus Antispam 2011" malware, and am very sensitive to new graphics that I don't recognize.

I've found over the past day that its presence comes and goes, presumably based on background apps.
As I'm unable to predict when I'll catch it next time, it's best I close this question and I'll reopen a new question when I can provide a screenshot.

WPrinterJob.pageDialog()...what is the "Printer..." button for??

Printing from an application (int windows) from Java usually throws up the dialog where you set up the page format.
In the bottom right/hand corner there's a "Printer..." button that's supposed to allow you to change printer settings but it's never enabled (assuming you're using the default pageDialog() dialog).
...what is the button for?

I also want to know how to enable the "printer" button in the pageDialog window.

Both power adapter I have are different (at the magnet end) from the one in link.
Earlier adapters have T shaped connectors, which Apple later changed to the L shape, presumably to make them more abuse-proof. Either one is fine and the one you are using will not damage your Mac.
Retina MBPs and new MBAs use a completely different MagSafe 2 connector which will not fit (without an adapter).

Short answer:
Click Hide Song(s), it is what you wanted to do...
Long answer:
iTunes in the Cloud is a feature of your iTunes store account that allows you to redownload or stream your past purchases. When you delete a purchased track that is downloaded to your computer (like the first one shown here) you are asked if you also want to hide the song from iCloud. This would remove it from the computer and also stop it showing up with the iCloud symbol as the other tracks from that album (which are not downloaded) do.
If a track shows with the cloud symbol you can play (stream) it by double-clicking the title, or click the cloud symbol to download a local copy to your library. If you try to delete one of these tracks you get a slightly different message confirming that you want to hide the track. Clicking hide will remove the listing from the library and any other device that shows your past purchases.
Should you want to retrieve any item hidden in this way at a later date use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.
To hide all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
