What's the default location for CrashReporter in Lion?
I know Library folder is hidden in OS X Lion. I'm unable find the folder named "CrashReporter". I would like to examine the folder for crash logs. Is the crash folder location changed in Lion?
Any further help would be appreciated. Thanks.
The folder for crash logs is the Macintosh HD/Library/Logs/CrashReporter. If the folder doesn't exist, I'm assuming you haven't experienced any crashes. It will probably self populate if needed. I think the CrashReporter in the the Application Support folder is specific application crash logs, and not crash logs for system calls and processes. All of the logs can be viewed easily in the "Console" Application located in Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities. This application neatly divides up the different types of logs in a log list, and displayes the selected log in the main portion of the window. There are also developer tools built in via the menu bar items to work with the logs.
Another useful feature of the Console is the abilit to view logs from mobile devices such as iOS devices. In the log list they are grouped under the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice directory.

Help! what is the default location for shared file system?
Help! i came in this morning and for some bizarre reason the shard file system information had disappeared and podcast producer wouldn't work i thought it was in library/quicktimestreaming/movies so i set it to there but when i try and submit a video i just get question-marks in the post where the video should be its obviously not finding it. So i found where most of the previous videos were which is a folder called Podcast Producer which seems to be a link to my external drive but when i set the shared file system to this folder it creates a new folder called podcasts and sticks them in there so i get the same question-mark scenario. Its bizarre i can't figure out why it would losse the information in server admin the only thing i can think of is that i did a repair permissions and wondered if it might have set some permission on the shared filesystem folder differently and made it somehow inaccessible does anybody know what permissions should be set on the folder? Also regarding quicktime streaming does this location have to be the same as the shared file system folder?
Message was edited by: purplemonkey1Thanks - The folder was hidden, so once I changed my options to see hidden files, I was able to find it exactly where the link told me it would be.
Much appreciated! -
What is the default location for iTunes to backup my iPhone?
I was wondering where my backup is stored if I choose to backup to my (non-Apple) laptop.
Can I get into it to delete files, such as my pictures? Thanks - The folder was hidden, so once I changed my options to see hidden files, I was able to find it exactly where the link told me it would be.
Much appreciated! -
That about explains it - just downloaded firefox and grabbed some videos - don't have any idea where they went!
'''{ Ctrl + J }''' to open the Downloads window. Then right-click the file which was downloaded and select '''Open Containing Folder'''.

I just upgraded my mac book to 10.6.8 and downloaded the new version of itunes. When I try to open it and error message appears saying, "The iTunes Library file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the "iTunes" folder in the "Music" folder."
I have tried a few things but iTunes closes right after i click okay. Anyone know anything?Look in your Home > Music folder. There should be an iTunes folder there and it should have a number of files and folders including one called library.itl You want to guide iTunes to that file. If you don't see that file or folder then in your next post you will have to be very specific as to what you do see or how you have your iTunes set up because that's where it should be according to default settings.

Every time I have to upgrade iTunes it gives me this messege:'The default location for this file is in the "iTunes" folder in the "Music" folder.' the file should be there but I don't understand why it does this every time Apple upgrades the Itunes library. Its on the computer somewhere but it only affects this login on my computer (meaning on this Windows Account). Why does my iTunes do this? Then I have to spend hours placing all my libraries back together and all my music back into the library. Which usually takes me a few days to sort all out. What is wrong with my iTunes? The iTunes folder is a folder in my Music folder where I store the iTunes music/files/libraries at on my computer so I can have all of the iTunes files in one place on my computer.
I have a Windows 7 operating system my computer runs from.

itunes library.itl file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the "iTunes" folder in the "Music" folder, I keep getting this message everytime I try to install Itunes after having to remove windows 8.1 and go back to windows 8. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and it keeps telling me the same thing. What do I do?

I am trying to open iTunes on my Windows 7 PC and am getting the following message...the itunes library can not be found or created. The default location for this file is in the "iTunes" folder in the "Music" folder. Any ideas?
Let's try this first. Hold down the Shift key while you try to launch iTunes. You should eventually see the following dialog:
Click "Choose library". Browse to inside the following location (depending on what operating system you're running):
Operating System
Default location of iTunes library
Microsoft Windows XP
\Documents and Settings\[your username]\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
Microsoft Windows Vista
\Users\[your username]\Music\iTunes\
Microsoft Windows 7
\Users\[your username]\My Music\iTunes\
... and open the iTunes library you find in there. -

Where is the default location for the OC4J logs?
Where is the default location for the OC4J logs?
Depends on what variant of the product you are using.
In an Oracle Applicaiton Server environment (ie the one you install versus unzip) the stdout/stderr streams from OC4J are captured in the $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs/<group-instance> directory.
If you are using standalone then stdout goes to the console where you started the process.
The logs for the OC4J instance itself are located in $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/log/<instance_group> directory. In this directory you'll see different logs for differet areas of the server. Most of the logs however are captured in the oc4j sub-directory in the log.xml file. Whenever you enable an OC4J component logger in the j2ee-logging.xml file or via ASControl, this is where the logs will end up.
Take a look at the $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/config/j2ee-logging.xml file -- the log handlers will give you some idea on the different log files that are in use.
You can configure your application loggers to also direct their log into this file if you wish. See http://buttso.blogspot.com/2007/09/directing-log-messages-into-oc4j.html for an example. -

SDK v3.0 Compatible with 2.4
Just starting to look into LR plug-in work. I'm still on LR v2.4. My question is whether the currently available SDK 3.0 for LR would be backwards compatible with LR 2.4, or do I need a 2.x SDK (and if so, where could I find that).
