What's the difference and purpose of Keywording and metadata such as title and caption, crator, sublocation , label etc? Where & how is the information used? Where does it appear?
Keywording is primarily for your own use for finding photos fast.
Title, Caption, etc are also for your own use but can be used by your clients or your stock company if you do not <Minimize Embedded Metadata> on export. Keywords are also included on export but are hardly of any use to others - unless you follow a standard for keywording.
You have the option of selecting title, caption, etc to appear in a Slide Show, on Print, or on a webpage created with LR.
If you go to the LR Help menu and type "title", or "caption" in the search box you will find plenty of advice for this.

What is the difference in price of MacBook Pro 13-inch: 2.9GHz750GB and 256GB solid-state drive ?
go to the Store and configure all the models with upgrades but... an SSD will be fast and responsive, no noise or heat and adds $200 probably to the cost

What is the difference between LTE mode, CDMA mode, LTE/legacy 3GGPP mode, and Global mode in Preferred Network?
Great question alczervik!
LTE- is our 4G network.
All CDMA/LTE Legacy are going to be related to our 1X, 3G/ EVDO network.
Global is GSM. Meaning you can use Internationally.
I hope this helps.

What's the difference between, just for example, "login block-for 100 attempts 15 within 100" and "security authentication failure rate 3"?
Please ignore the numbers, I need to know what the differences are in commands and what they do, what they affect.security authentication failure rate number_of_failed_attempts : A global configuration mode command used to specify the maximum number of failed attempts (in the range of 2 to 1024) before introducing a 15-second delay
login block-for 100 attempts 15 within 100 : Block all access after 15 failed login attempts within 100 Secs for the period of 100Secounds (1.40 Minutes).
The Cisco IOS Login Enhancements (Login Block) feature allows users to enhance the security of a router by configuring options to automatically block further login attempts when a possible denial-of-service (DoS) attack is detected.
The login block and login delay options introduced by this feature can be configured for Telnet or SSH virtual connections. By enabling this feature, you can slow down "dictionary attacks" by enforcing a "quiet period" if multiple failed connection attempts are detected, thereby protecting the routing device from a type of denial-of-service attack. -

Hi,
The following are the features of iPlanet Web Server 6.0 which is enhanced from iPlanet Web Server 4.1 release.
You can implement sticky sessions by prefixing the name of the server host that generated the session to the JSESSIONID (the Servlets 2.2 API standard session cookie name). This enables the front-end load balancer to do sticky load balancing, such as forwarding future requests to the same host that generated the session.
Keep-alive handling now thousands of keep-alive connections can be maintained.
Added support for digest authentication as defined in RFC 2617. Digest authentication is used in conjunction with the iPlanet Directory Server 5.0 as an access authentication method that avoids passing the user name and password over the network in an unencrypted form.
Command Line Administration Tools.
Improved User Interface:-iPlanet Web Server 6.0 provides an improved user interface with the following features:
Magnus Editor ,Class Manager ,.htaccess Configuration
iPlanet Web Server currently provides support for Quality of Protection (QOP)= auth and algorithm = MD5 only.
iPlanet Web Server 6.0 features improved SSL performance and simplified server certificate acquisition from VeriSign.
In general, the authentication mechanisms provided by iPlanet Web Server 6.0, such as basic and digest authentication using LDAP, work across web applications (or servlet contexts). For FORM authentication, you can implement single sign-on using a cookie-based FORM login session created with a virtual-server-wide session manager. This FORM login session is available across all applications within the virtual server and is separate from the regular HTTP session which is limited to the servlet context
You can install iPlanet Web Server 6.0 on multiple machines using templatized installation.
Web Publishing is not supported in iPlanet Web Server 6.0.
Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS) /LiveWire is not supported in iPlanet Web Server 6.0.
Live Connect (LC) is not supported in iPlanet Web Server 6.0.

Hi
As I will be planning to setup Lync on a virtual environment regardless if it is going to be the Standard or Enterprise edition.
I am thinking if we use 1 Lync Standard Edition for the FE Server with Fault Tolerance enabled, would it be as good as having 2 Lync Enterprise Edition in a cluster?
ThanksHi there,
the main difference between using Lync enterprise and lync standard is the High availability and scalability feature,
you will get fault tolrance setup with one lync standard edition running on whatever hyper-v and vmware platform, however this will not be an optimum highly available solution for the simple reason that upon a host server failure the image will move
to another available host server and users will lose their active session durin the move process.
on the other hand what you will gain if you the Enterprise edition is that you will have a unique identity to which all lync clients will be connecting and this identity is the lync pool identity which is in the background handled with multiple Front-End
servers and AV conferencing pools, mediation pools and so on.
In additioin when you have multiple front-ends in place, those front-ends will not work in active/passive mode as in a regular cluster, in contrairy all the servers will be active and handeling the work load.
hope i make it a bit clear, if yiu need more info i am ready

Thanks for the response, being a small environment of 300 users, standard edition would be more than enough for me but the fact for HA is very critical for me at this stage. That is why I am exploring the option of using VMware FT.
I don't quick get what you mean on the users having to move to another image as my understanding of FT is in the event of a host failure (not VM failure like bluescreen etc), the VM will fail over to another host with no lost in any ping etc.
So, in theory, the Lync Server VM would never know that the parent ESX host had failed and it needed to failover to another host. Hope my understanding is correct.

A lot of NSS-related jargon is defined on mozilla.org, including the different PKCS standards:
http://mozilla.org/docs/jargon.html#PKCS5
To summarize (and simplify), PKCS #7 is a standard for digital certificates while PKCS #11 is a standard for communicating with cryptographic devices (e.g. SSL hardware accelerators). -
What is the difference between String Constant and Empty String Constant
What is the difference between string constant which does not contain any value and the Empty string constant?
While testing a VI which contain a normal string constant in VI analyzer, it gives error to change string constant with the empty string constant?

Functionally, they are the same. From a coding standpoint, the Empty String Constant is unambiguous.
It is empty and will always be; good for initialization. Also, because you can not type a value into and Empty String Constant, someone would need to conciously replace it to set a 'default' value that is something other than NULL.
Now is the right time to use %^<%Y-%m-%dT%H:%M:%S%3uZ>T

What's the difference of Network engineer and Network support engineer?:)
Hello, i'm browsing job ads and some are offering network engineer job, and others Network support engineer... what's the difference between them? thanks..;)
As both John and devils advocate have said you really need to look at the job requirements.
Certainly here in the UK i have seen a lot of jobs advertised as network engineer jobs and then the actual requirements are some Cisco experience and some experience with Windows AD/Linux etc.
A lot depends on the size of the company advertising the job eg. in my last company we had network operations engineers, network implementation engineers and network architects but a lot of smaller companies roll all those functions into one title.
Also worth bearing in mind that a lot of the job specs are not necessarily written by network people so the requirements can be a bit random to say the least

What is the difference between a Serial ATA 3 TB Drive and 3 TB Fusion Drive
What is the difference between a Serial ATA @ 7200 rpm 3 TB Drive and 3 TB Fusion Drive
A Fusion Drive is a proprietary combination of a hard drive and a solid state drive (SSD) engineered to dynamically move data you use most onto the fast SSD - so it's a lot faster than the equivalent hard drive, but much cheaper than a pure SSD storage solution would be.

What is the difference of specifying affinity to span multiple caches?
What is the difference of methods between specifying affinity to span multiple caches and specifying it on a single cache?
Can I do it in the same way?Thank you for reply.
From the Docs of Coherence we can see that the data affinity is commonly referred to the related entries is contained within a single cache. The following is some fragmentss excerpted from Coherence Docs:
"Data affinity describes the concept of ensuring that a group of related cache entries is contained within a single cache partition. This ensures that all relevant data is managed on a single primary cache node (without compromising fault-tolerance)."
"Affinity may span multiple caches (as long as they are managed by the same cache service, which will generally be the case)." -

What is the difference between Topic Keywords and Index File Keywords?
What is the difference between Topic Keywords and Index File Keywords? Any advantages to using one over the other? Do they appear differently in the generated index?
RH9.0.2.271
I'm using WebhelpHi there
When you create a RoboHelp project you end up with many different ancillary files that are used to store different bits of information. Many of these files bear the name you assigned to the project at the time you created it. The index file has the project name and it ends with a .HHK file extension. (HHK meaning HTML Help Keywords)
Generally, unless you change RoboHelp's settings, you add keywords to this file and associate topics to the keywords via the Index pod. At the time you compile a CHM or generate other types of output, the file is consulted and the index is built.
As I said earlier, the default is to add keywords to the Index file until you configure RoboHelp to add the keywords to the topics themselves. Once you change this, any keyword added will become a META tag in the topic code. If your keyword is BOFFO, the META tag would look like this:
<meta name="MS-HKWD" content="BOFFO" />
When the help is compiled or generated, the Index (.HHK) file is consulted as normal, but any topics containing keywords added in this manner are also added to the Index you end up with. From the appearance perspective, the end user woudn't know the difference or be able to tell. Heck, if all you ever did was interact with the Index pod, you, as an author wouldn't know either. Well, other than the fact that the icons appear differently.
Operationally, keywords added to the topics themselves may hold an advantage in that if you were to import these topics into other projects, the Index keywords would already be present.
Hopefully this helps... Rick

Rule below overprints descender
We've been using the rule-below in some paragraph styles that use green type. The rule is tight to the baseline, so the descenders extend past it. On our old template, the green covers the black rule. But we've recently made a copy of that template a
