What's the difference between Java SE 6 Update 10 RC and JDK 6 Update 7

I want to download jdk and do some java development. But I saw "Java SE 6 Update 10 RC" and "JDK 6 Update 7" are both there for me to download. I don't know which one should I download. I used to think JDK is Java SE. Can someone explain it to me? Great thanks!

[Java 6 Update 10|http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/javase/java6u10/] provides some nice enhancements for deploying Java to the Desktop, a nice new look and feel and some other nice additions.
Also, JDK 6 Update 7 is the latest, officially released version at the moment. The Update 10 is only a release candidate (that means it is what might become the final Update 10, but can still change).
For normal development (and especially when you're just starting to learn) there shouldn't be too much difference, so choose whichever you want.

    both r free but they are used in diffrent applications. sdk are used for simple apps that run on your computer while j2e (enterprise edition) are ment for large distributed computer systems that include servers and such. if you don't know the diffrence you probably wont need the the j2e, only the sdk.

    There's no difference. They're both runtime plug-ins (they run when an app calls for Java functions).
    You only need Java if you either have Java apps on your Mac that won't run without having it installed, or you use trusted web sites that require Java to function (getting fewer and far between). Otherwise, you have no need for it at all.

    Maybe have a look at the SAP Help for further information (http://help.sap.com) : e.g. 'Posting Credit Memos Integrated with Vendor'  or 'Posting a Credit Memo Offset Against a Clearing Account' 
    Transaction type 105 for credit memo on current acquisition made in the current year, posting key 75. Or transaction type 160 for credit memo on acquisitions from prior years. posting key 75.
    Note: determine if the asset was acquired in the current fiscal year or in a closed fiscal year (Display asset values).
    If the asset was acquired in a fiscal year that is now closed, correct the past depreciation using a write-up (in that case check out and refer to Posting Write-Ups).

    MC.1 will give you the report for plant analysis as per plant .
    MB5L report will give you list of stock value as per G/L account wise.

    I was going through this thread and came up some more questions in my mind.
    1. Do we need to set Fiscal Year, Fiscal Varient settings once for all in BW ? ( The path is given in one of the thread above ) need to know if this is one time setting / rebuilding the tables. what will happen when we select and execute factory calender and Fiscal Varient and Rebuild tables in transfer global setting ? Is this one time we have to do for whole BW system?
    2. when we go to SCAL t-code what we need to do and what it do in the system ? I know its for Factory calender but just want to know what it does. It it also for one time during BW build phase ?
    3. How can we link Factory calender and Fiscal year? IS it thro Fiscal varient ?

    Nice question. I also tried to find out, but no much success. My opinion is that for practical purposes there is no difference.
    It may have difference in case of searching, especially sorted tables. (binary search or normal linear search).
    Case1: If our table is sorted table with defined key fields, and we give WITH TABLE KEY, then faster binary search is used.
    Case2 : If our table is sorted table with defined key fields, and we give WITH  KEY, (and no field contained in the keys), then normal linear search is used.
