What's the difference/relation between a topic and a page?

Hello all,
I'm not sure about the relation between a new page and a topic: it seems that a topic can be composed of pages, but when I look at the topic's HTML, there's no new section (DIV) for the added page.
Also, am not sure about the relation between the book and the topics/pages.
Would be grateful if somebody could either point to reference material or provide a few clarifying words on this.
Many thanks, Donna

Hello again
Okay, I'm interpreting that as meaning it really didn't make much better sense to you. I'll take another stab at it.
When we create content in RoboHelp, we create what most of the world would know as HTML Pages. These are simple files that contain HTML code. And on the World Wide Web, they would be generically called Web Pages.
But remember, RoboHelp is a Help Authoring application. Not a Web building tool. So while the tool (RoboHelp) actually creates different HTML Pages, in Help Authoring speak, we just call them Topics. Because we are typically describing something helpful. So this Topic is about clearing a paper jam from a printer while this other Topic is about How to Fill Out an Expense Report.
So generically speaking, each of our HTML Pages in our project is known as a different Topic. Sometimes we mix the terms can call them Topic Pages. So they are sort of synonomous in that respect. HTML Page = Topic
Now, part of building any respectable help system is the fact that you are able to create a Table of Contents (TOC). Each node (or entry) that is part of your TOC structure likely points to a different Topic in your project. But when we edit the TOC, we generically say we are creating a Page. (This is typically because the TOC most often uses icons that look like Open or Closed Books, with Pages inside each Book that individually point to Topics.)
Hopefully that makes better sense... Rick

  • What is the difference (& use) between CBP & MRP & FBP

    Dear Experts,
Can anyone please tell me what is the difference ( & uses ) between Consumption Based Planning & Material Requirement Planning & Forecast Based Planning?
how are these linked to each other?
Instead of sending Big Documents,Please tell me in few lines in a Lay mans Language.
I read these topics in Martin Murray Book (its the Bible of MM acc. to me) but still did not understand it.
    Can anyone please  explain me.....
    Kind Regards

    Dear Sajid,

All are Used In Material Requirement Planning(MRP)
Consumtion base Planning :-   Consumption-based planning procedures are straight forward materials planning procedures with which you can achieve set targets with relatively little effort. Therefore, these planning procedures are used in areas without in-house production and/or in production plants for planning both B- and C-parts and operating supplies.
The type of order proposal which is automatically generated during materials planning depends on the procurement type of the material. For materials that are produced internally, a planned order is always created. For materials procured externally, the MRP controller has the choice between creating a planned order or a purchase requisition. If he decides to create a planned order, he must then convert it into a purchase requisition and make it available for the purchasing department.
in MRP there are three Type
    1) Reorder Point Planning
         A) VB - Manual Reorder
         B) VM - Automatic
         C) VV - Forecast
    2) Forecast Based Planning :- Material planning is based on forecasted requirements. This is preferred when the future requirements might not be the same as the past consumption, but to forecast, the past values are considered.
Like reorder point planning, forecast-based planning operates using historical values and forecast values as future requirements are determined via the integrated forecasting program. However, in contrast to reorder point planning, these values then form the basis of the planning run in forecast-based planning.
The forecast, which calculates future requirements using historical data, is carried out at regular intervals. This offers the advantage that requirements, which are automatically determined, are continually adapted to suit current consumption needs. If, during the current period, material has already been withdrawn from stock, then the forecast requirement is reduced by the quantity of material that was withdrawn. This means that the quantity of the forecast requirement that has already been used is not included in the planning run again.
    3) Time Phase Planning :-  If a vendor always delivers a material on a particular day of the week, it makes sense to plan this material according to the same cycle in which it is delivered, but displaced by the delivery time. This is possible with the time-phased planning procedure.
If a particular material is to be planned using this procedure, you must set the MRP type for time-phased planning and you must enter the planning cycle in the material master record. You enter the planning cycle in the form of a planning calendar in the Planning cycle field. You must also define a planned delivery time and the Lot-for-lot order quantity as the lot-size key.

    AppRF
    WebCC
2300+ Apps under 21 app categories
Millions of URLs under 80+ categories
Need up to 7 packets to classify
Classified once HTTP GET is received
    Classification
    Classification + Reputation

  • In Cisco IronPort WSA, what is the difference of an Access Policy, and an Identity?

    Hi Everyone,
I am currently setting up a custom access for a particular subnet.
What I did is to create a new identity for them, then allowed only specific URL categories for them. Note that the subnet is already allowed to access the internet through Global access policy.
What will be the difference if I rather created a new Access Policy for the subnet?
And technically, what's the difference of an Access Policy and an Identity?

This was not my question. I asked if using the Marginal in Printing will you have a frame around the image?
I think you're confused about which thread you are posting to.  "Wully bully" started this thread by asking about identify plates and watermarks, and I replied to Wully bully's post.
Nevertheless, your question too about printing is best asked in the main LR forum, not here.

  • What is the exact diff between  At New  and On Chnage

    hello all
what is the exact diff between  At New  and On Chnage in control breaks statements. and when  shall we go for At new & when shall we go for On change on events.
Plz tell with with some code.

    Hi ,
    Using at new
Each time the value of c changes, the lines of code between at new and endat are executed. This block is also executed during the first loop pass or if any fields to the left of c change. Between at and endat, the numeric fields to the right of c are set to zero. The non-numeric fields are filled with asterisks (*). If there are multiple occurrences of at new, they are all executed. at end of behaves in a similar fashion.
Using the on change of Statement
Another statement you can use to perform control break processing is on change of. It behaves in a manner similar to at new.
    The following points apply:
u2022     If the value of any of the variables (v1, v2, and so on) changes from one test to the next, the statements following on change of are executed.
u2022     If no change is detected and else is specified, the statements following else are executed.
on change of differs from at new in the following respects:
u2022     It can be used in any loop construct, not just loop at. For example, it can be used within select and endselect, do and enddo, or while and endwhile, as well as inside get events.
u2022     A single on change of can be triggered by a change within one or more fields named after of and separated by or. These fields can be elementary fields or field strings. If you are within a loop, these fields do not have to belong to the loop.
u2022     When used within a loop, a change in a field to the left of the control level does not trigger a control break.
u2022     When used within a loop, fields to the right still contain their original values; they are not changed to contain zeros or asterisks.
u2022     You can use else between on change of and endon.
u2022     You can use it with loop at it where . . ..
u2022     You can use sum with on change of. It sums all numeric fields except the one(s) named after of.
u2022     Any values changed within on change of remain changed after endon. The contents of the header line are not restored as they are for at and endat.

    KV

  • What is the perfect defference between AT NEW and ON CHANGE...

What is the perfect defference between AT NEW and ON CHANGE...?

    hi vijay,
if u use 'at-new' statement , basically it dont pick first record of the itab where as 'on chage of' can pick from first record.
all these control brake statements can work with header line except 'on change of' event.
    regards..
    seshu.

    Hi,
    At New.
    Effect
Beginning or end of a group of lines with the same content in the component comp1 comp2 ... and in the components to the left of comp1 comp2 .... The components comp1 comp2 ... can be specified, as described in the section Specification of Components, with the limitation that access to object attributes is not possible here.
    Example:
    LOOP AT itab result ...
        [AT NEW comp1.
         ENDAT.
    endloop.
    On Change of:
    Effect:
The statements ON CHANGE OF and ENDON, which are forbidden in classes, define a control structure that can contain a statement block statement_block. After ON CHANGE OF, any number of data objects dobj1, dobj2... of any data type can be added..
    Example:
In a SELECT loop, a statement block should only be executed if the content of the column CARRID has changed.
    DATA spfli_wa TYPE spfli.
    SELECT *
           FROM spfli
           INTO spfli_wa
           ORDER BY carrid.
      ON CHANGE OF spfli_wa-carrid.
      ENDON.
    ENDSELECT.

  • What is the Difference with FMLE 3.1 and 3.2? having problems with my stream

What is the difference with FMLE 3.1 and 3.2?
I am having major problems with my live stream, i am currently using FMLE 3.1 and using a Imac computer.
The stream seems to be delayed by 20mins and keeps on crashing
I have a 2MB upload speed and frame rate 25.00 and bit rate 800 kbps fromat VP6
Can anyone help me with getting the settings right and what is the best computer to use to allow FMLE not to crash and stream to run smooth?
    Please Help
    Thank you

    Hello!
I would be interested in helping you with your question. You are going to need to provide a little more information about your current configuration in order for me to better understand your issue. Until then, I'll do my best to answer your quesitons.
There are subtle changes from 3.1 to 3.2. Both are stable releases. With your setup, you should be using 3.2.
Issues with FMLE typically deal with your capture card. The issues you are having sound like a streaming server issue. Stream delayed 20min? This isn't typical behavior. What streaming media server are you usign? FMS or Wowza? Define 'crashing'. Anything in the output log in FMLE or is your server 'crashing'.
    Thank you,

i have few doubts to clarify
    1) what is the difference b/w slis_t_fieldcat_ alv and slis_fieldcat_ alv ,what they are meant for
1)what is the difference b/w slis_t_events and slis_alv_events ,what they meant for
    1) this is question asked in wipro interview whats the name of the company CARITOR before 2002 yr.
Plz help me in getting correct explanation.
    Thankq

slis_t_fieldcat_ alv is used to create a fielcatlogue table while slis_fieldcat_ alv is used to create a work area which can be used to append data to the table.
    DATA: i_fieldcat TYPE slis_t_fieldcat_alv.
    DATA: line_fieldcat TYPE slis_fieldcat_alv.
      CLEAR line_fieldcat.
      line_fieldcat-fieldname = 'QMNUM'.
      line_fieldcat-tabname   = 'I_DATA'.    .
      line_fieldcat-key       = 'X'.
      line_fieldcat-seltext_m = 'Notification No.'.
    <b>  APPEND line_fieldcat TO i_fieldcat.</b>
Similarly slis_t_events is used to create the table and slis_alv_events is used for work area.
    I hope it helps.

  • What's the difference on StageWebview in Mobile and Desktop AIR apps?

    Hi,
What's the difference between StageWebView in an AIR mobile and
AIR desktop app? (AIR 3.9 SDK)
I have the problem that in a StageWebView related feature is working and on mobile but not on desktop AIR apps.
The feature lets users login into a website and post to the forum - on mobile it seems that the cookie/session is not found.
What could be the reason for that?
    Any ideas welcome!

I would recommend against using useNative = true in Windows, because that means the behaviour and presentation of the page is very unpredictable, since the user can have pretty much any version of IE from 6 to 11 and beyond. That's more than a decade worth of different (and some really old and buggy) versions of Internet Explorer. The embedded WebKit in AIR could use an update (it's a bit old), but it's still a lot better than the wild territory of native IE ;-). I'm glad the AIR team listened to us and in AIR 3.9 they gave us back the option to not use native IE in Windows (in some of the previous versions, such as AIR 3.6, 3.7 and 3.8, only the IE engine was available to StageWebView, which forced me to use AIR 3.5 for Windows versions of my application, since the IE engine provided all sorts of problems).
Anyway, I don't understand your post very well. First you say "is working and on mobile but not on desktop AIR apps". From that I get that your page is working on mobile but doesn't work properly on desktop, but then you say "on mobile it seems that the cookie/session is not found". That contradicts the other sentence, since now you're saying it doesn't work properly on mobile.
    Which one is true?

  • HT4009 I am now totally confused. One of your kind answers says maybe  I am purchasing an (IN-app). What is the difference in a free app and a in- app????, besides charging me $1.25  each time.

What is the difference in a app marked free, and one that is an in-app??.. This is not explained by supports answer.  I do not download a free app with
The knowledge I am required to pay for it. Down here in Texas, free means free. Some one out there explain in plain English why I have been charged $40.00
In last six months for FREE apps.??

A free app is free to download from the store. Some apps (both free and paid-for) then allow you to make in-app purchases within them e.g. to unlock extra features (items or levels in a game, extra features in other apps etc), to remove adverts (some free apps get money via adverts that are diaplayed in them, but you can sometimes pay to remove them).
If you don't want to be able to make in-app purchases then you can turn them off on your iPad via Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases 'off'.
As most of the people on these forums, including myself, are fellow users, not iTunes Support, we won't know why you have been charged $40 in the last six months. Have you looked at the purchase history on your account (Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes), or contacted iTunes Support ?

  • What is the difference btwn DAQmx ANSI C and VC?

NI'CD gives some examples, some in DAQmx ANSI C and some in VC? What is the difference?
How to use DAQmx ANSI C and write it into VC6? Thanks.

    Hello,
We provide examples in both Visual C++ and ANSI C separately because they are different in nature. ANSI C is a procedural language...when programming on it the general method of solution is to break the task into successively smaller subtasks (top-down design.)
C++ is an object-oriented language. In C++ generally the first step is to design classes that are abstractions of physical objects. These classes contain both the state of the object, its members, and the capabilities of the object, its methods. After the classes are designed, a program is written that uses these classes to solve the task at hand.
In order to use DAQmx on VC 6, I would encourage you to look at the NI-DAQmx C Reference Help (it installs with NI-DAQ.)This help contains all the information you should need to program DAQmx in C, it explains NI-DAQmx concepts, functions, properties, etc. You can find this help by going to Start >> Programs >> National Instruments >> NI-DAQ.
    Hope this helps,
    LA
