What's the easiest way to get PDFs into iPad?
A friend has a jail broken iPad. He can drag-and-drop PDF files right into his iPad with the same ease that we can when copying a PDF file from one Mac to another (Does not use, or need iTunes).
I do NOT want to jailbreak my iPad. Is there some similar way to transfer PDFs to iPad without going through iTunes (which I find to be a hassle).
You can either use iTunes (which you've already said that you don;t want to do)
I find transferring files using iTunes difficult and tedious (compared to the drag-and-drop methods used by jail broken iPads). I put in several hours trying to transfer PDF files using iTunes and never could get it to work. Perhaps I did not have the right App on my iPad.
use a PDF app on the iPad that supports wifi transfer
Can you suggest an App that does this?
I did view the DropBox video. (The video urges one to simply download it, and never discloses the cost prior.) Also, I would never put my personal files on the cloud where they can be hacked. I want something I can simply transfer on my own network without using the Internet.

What is the easiest way to get music into itunes library?
Hey everyone, what is the easiest way to get my songs into itunes without importing them one by one. For example, if you download several songs with Limewire is there a way to make them automatically download into Itunes or do you have to add file or import them manually. I tried to be slick and change the folder that the limewire was saving songs into to make it the same as the itunes library folder. I didn't do something right apparently cause I still have to either add file or import to get the songs. I wish there was a way to just auto download them into the itunes or scan the computer for new songs.
Does this software do what you want?

Using Iwork 09 I have spent several hours setting up a mail merge from a spread sheet in Numbers to create receipts for my customers from a Pages template.
After the merge I am left with one long Pages document that will not save as separate files; one per customer, it will only save the whole document of several receipts.
What is the easiest way to get the data from the mailmerge to form Pages files that can be saved separately?
Many thanks in advance.
RichardMr. Clark,
You will probably be more pleased with the iWork apps when you begin to learn your way around. Until you learn such basic things as how to print only one page of a document, you will probably continue to be disappointed.
Does your Print dialog look like this:
Or like this:
If it looks like the first one, then you will want to click this expander control:

It's a power Mac g4
Contrary to the above post, IE for Mac does exist. As a matter of fact, it was the default browser for Mac OS 8, 9, and X up until Safari's release in 2003. It was discontinued not long after that. However, you can still download it here: http://mac.oldapps.com/internet_explorer.php?old_internet_explorer=9. As for downloading Safari, if you're running an earlier version of Jaguar (10.2), you should be able to install it by going into Software Update and downloading all the updates available (provided the Mac is connected to the internet, of course). As for getting Mail back, I don't see how it's gone; seeing as it's a pre-installed Apple program, I doubt someone would remove it, and I'm not even sure it can be removed. Try doing a search in Finder for it. Finally, as for no restore discs, there's really no other way around it unless you get a set of restore discs (which are probably difficult to find considering their age) or get someone to put the restore disc data on a USB drive.
On a side note, I don't recommend using Safari or IE for internet browsing on 10.2. They're so outdated that most sites don't display properly on them. I recommend using the latest version of Opera for 10.2, which you can find here: http://mac.oldapps.com/opera.php?old_opera=15. I have personally tried this on an eMac running 10.2 and though slow (as it is also a very outdated browser version, over 5 years old), most sites seem to display properly (at least, for the most part). Or, as another alternative, I would recommend maxing out your Mac's memory and installing Mac OS X Tiger (10.4) and the TenFourFox browser (link: http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/). Do that, and you'd have a rather usable internet browsing machine. -
What is the easiest way to get time stamped wvm data with AI samp Ch Vi?
The AI sample channel VI only outputs single point waveform data which is making it a beast for me to get my input data into XY graphs. I have been trying to combine the data with a elapsed time clcok so I can synchronize all my inputs but it isnt working too great. All this stuff is in a while loop also, so that gives me trouble. Basically I just want to make an XY graph from both AI inputs.
Attachments:
PID_Control_LoopII.vi 326 KBTim, no problem. I have attached the modified code that displays the readings from both devices on the same plot. I used a chart instead of an XY graph since it is much easier to use (it keeps track of elapsed time for you if you know the amount of time in between data points - and since the loop time is fixed we do know that). If this time were to change, then we would have to re-create the X-axis (time) and the XY graph would be necessary. One other note - the code that reads the values from the DAQ cards will not execute at exactly the same time, therefore the data will not be acquired at exactly the same time, though it will be close. Therefore, if your application requires these readings to be dead on together in time down to the mi
crosecond for example, then you would have to synch the two devices via hardware. Let me know if you intend to do that and I can steer you in the right direction. Hope this helps.

I am using FF6.
Photos taken by and saved to the iPod are included in the backup that iTunes makes evetime you sync or if do a manual or iCloud backup.
Per the following the backup includes:
iTunes: About iOS backups
Camera Roll (Photos, screenshots, images saved, and videos taken. Videos greater than 2 GB are backed up with iOS 4.0 and later.)
Note: For devices without a camera, Camera Roll is called Saved Photos.
Thus if you backed up after the photos were taken yuo can restore an iDevice from that backup -
What's the easiest way to do this?
hey, my music videos are included in the lists of songs, which usually cause my iPod to freeze. what's the easiest way to get them out of my songs lists so that they only show up when i go to Videos. should I just change the names of the music video artists so they don't get mixed in with songs, or is there an easier way to do this that i am missing?
why restore it? does this not happen to everyone? i thought it was just my fault for giving the same artist names for songs and videos...

My Mac Book Pro is currently runnng OS X v10.5.8. When I check for updates by clicking the apple icon it tells me that my computer is up to date. What is the easiest way to upgrade to OS X Lion? Do I need to get OS X Snow Leopard first?
Yes, there's been no updates to 10.5.8 for quite awhile, next is paid Upgrades.
Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
General requirements
* Mac computer with an Intel processor
* 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least)
* 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
* DVD drive for installation
* Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
* Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...

It looks like they might still have it...

If it's a core Duo & not a Core2Duo, then it'll only run in 32 bit mode.
Lion/101.7 System requirements
• x86-64 processor (Macs with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i7, or Xeon processor.)
• At least 2GB of memory, I say 6 GB
• Latest version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8), with the Mac App Store installed
• At least 4GB of disk space for downloading, I say 50 GB.
Like Snow Leopard, Lion does not support PowerPC-based Macs (e.g., Power Macs, PowerBooks, iBooks, iMacs (G3-G5), eMacs).
Lion also does not support 32-bit Intel Core Duo or Core Solo based Macs. Rosetta is no longer available in Lion, which means Lion no longer supports PowerPC applications.

I am still running OS x 10.5.8 what is the next step up and the easiest way to get it. Does the Genius bar have the capability to get me to the most recent software if I take my Imac in
iMac G5 - you are at the end of the line, though you may be able to upgrade your RAM, or hard drive.
iMac CoreSolo, CoreDuo - you can upgrade to 1 GB of RAM or 2 GB of RAM and get up to 10.6.8.
iMac Core2Duo - you can upgrade to 2 GB of RAM or more and get up to 10.7.2.
Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac to determine which Mac model you have.
Here's what you have to watch out for on 10.6 to 10.6.8.
Here's what you need to watch out for on 10.7 to 10.7.2.
Some stores may not have 10.6 installer CD available, or may not have 10.7 Flash drive available. For those you have to make the purchase from elsewhere,
and bring it in to the store with you. http://www.apple.com/retail has phone numbers for all their stores, and extension 5 often will get you a real person at the store, though if yuo don't get it, you might try a different extension. -
I have a bunch of .pmd files that I have to have access to.. I am trying to convert to .pdf. what is the easiest way to do this with updated computers?
Then you can’t do anything with those files. Even opening them in InDesign would yield very unpredictable results.
You’d need to find an old machine running nothing later than Windows XP and then buy a copy of PM which is like lighting money on fire.
That said, someone might come along willing to help out but just exactly how many is a bunch? -
What is the easiest way to transfer an faairly large HD imovie project from one computer to another in a different location. Can you export to drop box? Will the other computer need the exact imovie version?
OK it depends.
If you have a finished movie, you can SHARE/EXPORT MOVIE and create your final movie. Then, depending on the size of the finished movie, you can transfer via dropbox or similar service. Ninety minutes is a very long movie for iMovie, but it may work for you. I would suggest 720P to keep the size down.
If you need to transfer the entire iMovie Project so it can be edited in iMovie at the other end, then you need to transfer the project and event assets to an external hard drive and get the hard drive to the other location.
Directions are here. Follow the directions for 1) Moving or copying Project to external drive. Then 2) Consolidate Media.

NorbertThere is no automatic way to generate XML documents from an arbitary set of relational tables using the information contained in an XML Schema. Typically the easiest way to generate XML from relational data is to use the SQL/XML operators (XMLElement, XMLAGG, XMLAttribtues, XMLForest). There are many examples of using these operators in the forums You can validate the generated XML against the XML Schema by registering the XML Schema with XML DB and then using the XMLType.SchemaValidate() method
