What's the latest "stable" version of Gedit? The one in the repos?

I was just wondering because there are some cool features that I really really want from a new Gedit that have already been added in the gnome GIT repo. If ther current version "stable" is 2.30.4 then i'll wait, but if not, then can you (Jan De Groot) please update Gedit in the repos?

Just 'mark out of date' the package. Or email him directly. The forums are generally the WORST way to try and contact any specific developer.
Oh, and before that, please do a quick google....

  • Where is the latest STABLE version of Firefox?

I want the latest STABLE version of Firefox. I'm not interested in BETA versions. But, Mozilla is doing a good job of hiding the latest stable version and forcing customers into its ever-changing unstable Beta system. Can anyone tell me which version of Firefox is the newest STABLE version; and where can I find it? Thank you for your assistance!

If you are getting updates in Firefox to a Beta build (of 34.0bx) then you installed what was one of the Beta builds of a version in past (to be on Beta channel) and not a Release before. There are on average six to twelve Beta builds for a version with nine being the average in last while.
'''on www.mozilla.org only the current Release is served''' as you would have to go out of way to a page that serves Beta builds to then download them. Mozilla would never force people to use one of the Beta builds for a version instead of Release.
The current Beat build of a version is only on and is clear it is not the Release.

Firefox 34.0 is scheduled for release on November 25.

No, it's not under heavy development, it is almost complete. The only missing part is the "dalayed allocation". The on-disk format, as I've already said, shouldn't change anymore.
With this patch series, it is expected that ext4 format should be settling
down.  We still have delayed allocation and online defrag which aren't
quite ready to merge, but those shouldn't affect the on-disk format.
I don't expect any other on-disk format changes to show up after this
point, but I've been wrong before....  any such changes would have to
have a Really Good Reason, though.

If you read this carefully, you don't want to use ext4 just now. You also should consider that ext4 is virtually untested compared to filesystems like ext3 which has been used for years in many production environments. I wouldn't read "I don't expect any other on-disk format changes" as "There will be no more changes" if I had important data.
brain0 wrote:Second, we don't have a single filesystem built into the kernel, they are all modular - and I don't see a reason why this should ever change.
I remembered some filesystems were "built-in". Evidently I remember wrong (well... and I remember the filesystem for the root partition had to be built into the kernel, but my knowledge on this point is not very updated).
You're so 90's. If we would build everything into the kernel that everyone needed to boot, it would be 5MB or 10MB instead of just 2MB. Everything is as modular as possible now (there are some exceptions which should be ironed out in one of the next releases).

Final version. Great. Would there be much hassle to download even though Verizon does not have the 4.5 posted as yet. I would love to get the new version. And without the Media version. Let me know. I have the Curve 8330

  • Audio tag problem in latest stable version of firefox (3.6.7 & 3.6.8)

navigate to this html game using audio tags. With sound on (default you will hear background music) click on logo, on next screen click on a number and a (found) sound will play. click on a non number and a (wrong) sound should play. The wrong sound never plays in firefox v3.6.7 or v3.6.8. Note it is working correctly in firefox 4 beta 1.

I've reverted back to 3.6.6 until they fix the problem. I'm guessing its something to do with the webm stuff as that is in both 3.6.7 and 3.6.8.
    Maybe v4 will solve everything...

  • Error Console opens each time Firefox starts using latest stable version.

I open Firefox, it opens and it's Error Console opens. There are a history of information messages, warnings, and errors showing. Why is this happening?

Some mouse gesture extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) have been reported to cause that to happen.

    Alan Brown
    Network Engineer

    Hi Alan,
the early 6.0s have been deferred quite quickly. It looks that both 6.0.199.4 and 7.0.98 are totally survivable.
The most stable of all is the 4.2.209 but if you want the new features/APs support, I'd say 6.0.199.4 is the one.
But this is a personal opinion and each version might contain bugs that you will encounter or not, there's a bit of luck as well :-)

  • List of 1.5 JRE's stable version

    Hi,
Can someone give me list of 1.5 JRE's stable version?
    I found following beta version:
    1.5_0_04
    1.5_0_10
    1.5_0_12
    1.5_0_14
    1.5_0_15

Those are not beta versions, but updates to the initial stable version (as far as any software can be considered 'stable' these days).
The latest stable version of Java 5 can be found here: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp

  • What is the latest version of Hyoperion Planning

    Hi All,
What is the latest version of Hyoperion Planning?
    Regards,
    Sravan Kumar.

I would NOT take 11.1.2 for a new customer. you are simply asking to have to make a lot of excuses for why something isn't work. Not a good way to kick off your project. It's one thing to deal with known bugs, it's another things to be finding bugs only when they smack you in the face.
11.1.1.3 has been around for almost 1 year. It is stable and reliable and battle test for the most part.
Also 11.1.2 might get delayed for a few months you never know. So you might not be able to give a fixed date.
I would suggest trying to understand what the new features are in 11.1.2 and figure out if they have any use for your project because most likely they might be only minor benefits to a new project anyways.

  • What is the real scm latest version ?

What is the real scm latest version/patchset ?
    10g, 9i or 9.0.4 ??

There is a "latest' version of 6i and 9i and 10g. Each of these uses a similar underlying repository. Each is connected to a Designer that generates a specific release of Developer (6i gens Forms 6i, 9i gens Forms 9i, etc).
About now, the latest 10g is 9.0.4.5, while the latest 9i is 9.0.2.9, and the latest 6i is 4.11.
