What's the max capacity for the library?

Who has the largest Aperture library (photo count)? iPhoto brags 250,000 capactiy - how about Aperture?

hello, jeff
quote: "Apple's Aperture constrains its internal library to a single volume"
Nope, the Complete Digital Photography site is not correct. Aperture can access multiple Libraries in a single Volume (not simultaneously but you can have several Libraries in a single Volume).
quote: "...with a little under-the-hood tinkering you can span your library across multiple drives, providing you with far more storage for your Aperture images. The Aperture Library Spanner is a simple app that automatically configures your Aperture library to span multiple volumes."
Interesting application. From the link and comments using the Spanner application it appears the Aperture Vault does not update across the hard drives — a huge make or break flaw.
Thanks for the link

  • What is the library section in the bookmarks toolbar used for now. I used to be able to organize my bookmarks here now the left pane in library under organize bookmarks is always empty.

Used to be able to organize bookmarks in the library section (left pane) but since upgrade this pane is always empty even if i try to add a folder or bookmark. Is there another way to organize without having to do this in the library section.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • Satellite A500-1DU - What is HDD max capacity

    Hello,
I have to re-install the factory installed Win 7 on my Satellite A500-1DU because I am not able to install SP1.
The cause is that the product information inside Win 7 is missing.
Regarding this I like to install a new HDD with more capacity (current 400gb).
Which HDD can I install and what is the max capacity (1TB, 750gb)?
    BIOS is current.
    Any hint is welcome.
    Thank you in advance

    Hi
From my knowledge there is no limitation in HDD capacity since the SATA controller is used and the SATA controller should support more than 400GB.

  • Max capacity for sd card slot Mac Mini mid 2010

Has anyone with a MAC Mini mid 2010 tried using the SD card slot for an extended drive?  I'm wondering what the max size is for the slot, and if I put a 64-128 gig SD Card in, would OS X 10.8.2 be able to combine that with an internal HD to create a "fusion drive"?

Your Mid 2010 Mac mini doesn't support SDXC, so you can't use this type of cards. Fusion Drive needs an SSD and a hard drive on the same Mac mini, so an SD won't work with this

  • Q: SATA HDD Max Capacity for a Presario C518LA

    Hello everyone.
As the Subject states, I´m interested in knowing what could be the largest hard drive, SATA, I could plug into my Presario C518LA. It currently has the original 80GB, but it is filling up really quick.
Or maybe the question could be addressed like this: Is there a capacity limit in terms of internal SATA hard disk for a Compaq Presario C518?
    Thank you all in advanced

Not theoretically but occasionally people report issues with some 7200 rpm drives and some 500 gig drives so the best advice is get a 320 gig 5400 rpm drive. I have never seen a report of problems with such a drive. There is no BIOS limit for the SATA interface unlike the ATAPI/EIDE interface.

  • What is absolute max ram for a macbook pro 2,16 core 2 duo processor?

Hello guys, thanks for reading this post.
i read so many people saying that my 2007 mbp only going to max at 3GB if i put 2x 2Gb ram
i look up on apple store memory, my processor doesnt show as choices
i then look up on OWC website, and they show my macbook pro 2,16 core 2 duo is in fact a "model identifier" macbookpro2,2
which made me viable to get full 4GB.
just to be sure, my macbook pro serial number is
    W87****W0G
and this macbook pro now has 2x 1GB ram pc2-5300
i saw people selling pc2-5300 on cglist, but they look so long and different from the shorter and taller one on apple and owc website.
so i am a bit confused, isnt this pc2-5300 not the same thing for all pc/mac? the one on cglist was made from hp, so i didnt contact the seller.
well, i am running mac osx lion now
will be plugging lacie expresscard usb 3
and will be using aperture 3 (which req lion to use so i cant downgrade os)
and i had few issues of screen occasionally flickering, does that mean i need more Ram??
sorry, i go a bit off topic here.
thanks for all you who keep reading and hopefully have a bit to say back to me.
    cheers
    Vito

    update:
after the information i posted above
i checked again my memory use in the activity monitor
and its true, only 3Gb is being used even the about this computer info says 4Gb.
thus, i returned the one 2Gb card and use one 1Gb from old one.
it made exactly same effect, nothing different.
i thought i just made this post so anybody have same issue later would know

  • How many HDD and max capacity for 2.66GHz model?

i was wondering how many physical hard drives can be installed in the 2.66GHz model of the iMac? also, is it possible to install more than 750GB? i noticed on the iMac specs page that the option for 750GB+ hard drive is only available on the 2.8GHz and higher.

Ahhh, well that's a new one on the market.
The iMac has Firewire ports (one of which is FW800, I believe, on the newest models) so you can add more storage externally. If you put in a larger drive you will need an external one at least the same size or larger for backups. If you plan to use Time Machine for backups then you need backup capacity about twice the size of the main hard drive. That means an external RAID array to provide 2 TBs to backup a 1 TB drive or 3 TBs for that big Seagate drive.

  • X61 max capacity for HDD and replacement help

Specs for the X61 say the X61 takes a  100(7200) or a 160 GB (5400 rpm). I replaced my original with a 120 from Seagate that failed and they sent me a Momentus 7200 250 Gb drive that won't clone with their Disk Wizard software.
Is the size a problem? Or is it their program? Should I try either Easeus or Acronis? Will the demo versions work?
I can't use Lenovo's R&R because I wiped the original Vista it came with and installed my own XP. If I need to reinstall Windows on the new drive because I can't clone it, after I format and reinstall XP, will R&R allow me to recover everything else or will I have to install everything from scratch and just recover my data from the old drive in a USB case. My old drive is not "dead" - just has errors.

  • 6300 Max capacity for MicroSD?

I've queried everywhere, and there is no absolute substantial data - which I'm extemely dissapointed with.
So I'll ask here: What EXACTLY is the maximum capactity of the nokia 6300's microSD support? Is it 2gb or more?
(I've read 2gb, but then O2 told me any microSD card would work, and I highly doubt the amateur-like knowledge of their workers

max capacity is 2Gb. It states this on the Nokia website under the 6300 tech spec, under the "Memory functions" section.

  • Eloqua Max Capacity for Email Send Out

    Hi Guys,
I need to send an email to approximately 1.5 million contacts in a day. Has anybody else sent emails to these many contacts using Eloqua before?
Is there any bottleneck to this?
Also is there a per day limit of contacts to which an email can be sent?

  • Where is the Library in this Captivate Trial version?

What causes the Library to go missing? It is not on the Window menu, and cannot be activated using CTRL+ALT+L. This is the trial verison of Adobe Captivate 4. When I open a project, I get a message saying that the library has many unused item; however, I cannot open the library to remove them.
    Thanks

    Hi there
The trial version is not crippled in any way. You are probably just not viewing the Edit area. Double-click any slide and you should enter edit mode. Then you will be able to use the methods you outlined to show the Library.
You might also consider submitting a Wish Form to ask the development team to place a handy button on that dialog that opens the Library when you click it!

  • What is the max HDD capacity for Satellite L300-1EI?

    Hi there,
    I have A laptop Sattelite L300 - 1EI Nodel PSLB8E - 05W013H2.
Currently I have a Hard Disk with the capacity of 120G .
It has lots of bad sectors.
I wold like to know what is the maximum capacity I could replace it with.
    Thanks

    Thanks for answering.
My problem is that I bought already a HDD of 500GB.
    The BIOS recognize the HDD.
When I try to install Windows 7 the computer reads the files from the CD into memory
and when it finishes, before it has the chance to start writing it switch itself off and re-boots.
Is that mean that the contoller is gone or the capacity of the HDD is too high for this Laptop.
    Thanks

  • What is the Best External HD for Massive iTunes Library?

    Hello,
I recently lost my entire 140 GB iTunes library (along with hours of raw and edited video and audio recordings) when my cheap Iomega 500GB decided to start making a ticking noise and crap out on me. I had my library backed up through iTunes on 9 DVDs a year ago, but i still lost everything I had accumulated over the past year and a half.
I am looking for the best external HD with the fastest transfer rate (USB/Firewire 400). My top priority is reliability and I need my data to be secure and safe, not necessarily disaster proof like ioSafe drives, although I would like it to be able to take a simple fall in case something were to happen while moving it. I just don't want to have to go through this again.
I have also heard about making my own external HD but am clueless about the process. Might this be a better option?
I am also entertaining the thought of buying an Acer One 160GB to use strictly for my iTunes Music (no video) since I would like to make my library more portable. I read an article about moding one to run Leopard, but the directions were a bit over my head. I guess I could put up with Windows (EEEK!) just for iTUnes Music purposes. Help!!!
I have a Macbook 2GHz Intel Core Duo and 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM and use an 8GB iPod Touch. (if this makes a difference)

i know this isn't exactly what you are looking for but it REALLY works for me & covers a few ( if not all..) of your requisites.
i have 2 WD 2Tb My Book external drives for my iTunes library : one is the library , the other is the back up & is usually disconnected just in case....
then i have the very same set-up for video/movies. the whole shebang connected through Logitech USB powered hubs & i NEVER have any hiccups during music/video playback. then my iMac is connected via an external USB sound card - M-Audio.. - to my stereo & via mini-DVI to HDMI to my plasma display. how well does it work ? bloody amazing, i'm done with DVD players & CD players.
although it has faster data transfer rates, i think you don't REALLY need to go FW- a lot more expensive drives... - & if 2Tb drives are a little too much , check out WD range, they do have smaller drives although i have found that the 1Tb drives have the best capacity/price/performance ratio, at least here in Portugal
maybe you could set up something static at home with a beefier ( capacity wise..) drive & then have a smaller , both capacity & size wise to go on the move ?
    best wishes

  • HT1229 what is the best method for using a iphoto with an external hard drive for greater capacity?

what is the best method for using a iphoto with an external hard drive for greater capacity?

Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
