What's the Point of the 'Report a Problem' Process?

I tried out the 'report a problem' process for the first time, as I bought an app that basically didn't do anything it was supposed to.
I tried to contact the app support via the link in iTunes, got nowhere, so I tried the recommended 'report a problem' process.
This also was a complete waste of time, as all it does is generate a message from Apple saying 'we have noted your comment but we have no control over apps. Please seek advice through the support link in the app page in iTunes' or words to that effect.
Complete waste of time and going round in circles.
So, are we saying that, if the app support is ignoring any requests for a refund and Apple obviously don't want to know, there is no way to get any money back on apps that just don't do what they are supposed to?

Sorry Ian, but Apple did not tell me that. I have never asked for a refund, because there is no apparent mechanism for doing so.
I cannot see anything in the link you provided that is relevant to the issue in question.
I am struggling to see why the situation with buying an app that is 'unfit for purpose' from the App Store is any different if I buy a pair of Levis from the Jeans Store that is 'unfit for purpose' because there is a leg missing.
The shop will not wash their hands of it, and tell me to go and sue the manufacturing factory whose responsibility it is. They would give me a refund, as it is them that I have a contract with and not the manufacturers.
That is basic Consumer Law - certainly in the UK.
Someone who purchases from the App Store is buying from Apple, not the developer, and it is Apple that the consumer has the contract with. Simple as that.
Even if what you were saying was correct, what mechanism is there for devs to give refunds? Have you tried to get any support for apps in the App Store? My experience is that most of the time, it is zero. Now, of course, we all say, 'oh well, it was only a pound or so', and move on, but it still begs the question.

I was advised by an app support team member that I need to report a problem on their app to get my money refunded. There are two ways in which drop zones are available in the Keynote title template. What Luis has shown you is the normal way in which a title placed over a clip shows you the original clip with the title text. That is called a Final Cut placeholder type of drop zone. Keynote also offers a drop zone to be used as a background choice instead of a gradient or solid as you see in Luis's post. This makes a very nice title effect as you can use any clip for that background. That is what I thought you were refering to when you you said drop zone. Keynote is one of the nicer titles we have available in FCP because of this feature. Glad you got it sorted out.

There is a very distinct difference between the purchase of a game and the subsequent purchase of an "in-app" purchase. You bought the game first, then made an in-app purchase. Many, many games have in-app purchases .... Coins, gold, berries, additional levels.
I assume that you actually purchase two different items, the game itself and an in-app purchase - and if this is correct - you did not purchase the game again, you purchased a game add-on or enhancement.
You made a separate purchase. That is why it did not show up as installed.

Double-click on your DSO/ Cube, go to the 'where-used list' option on the top right-hand side. When you drop-down, you can see all the objects where the DSO/Cube is used. If it is being used in a query, the same would be displayed

Hi,
the sender / receiver relation and the values are reported after executing KSUB.
Another possibility is to execute KSB1 report for the sender cost centers and the assessmnet cost elements for the assessment period. Create a layout where the receiver (=partner object) is displayed.

Some features of BI 7 are
1. In Infosets now you can include Infocubes as well.
2. The Remodeling transaction helps you add new key figure and characteristics and handles historical data as well without much hassle. This is only for info cube.
3. The BI accelerator (for now only for infocubes) helps in reducing query run time by almost a factor of 10 - 100. This BI accl is a separate box and would cost more. Vendors for these would be HP or IBM.
4. The monitoring has been imprvoed with a new portal based cockpit. Which means you would need to have an EP guy in ur project for implementing the portal !
5. Search functionality hass improved!! You can search any object. Not like 3.5
6. Transformations are in and routines are passe! Yess, you can always revert to the old transactions too.

General tips
Using aggregates and compression.
Using less and complex cell definitions if possible.
1. Avoid using too many nav. attr
2. Avoid RKF and CKF
3. Many chars in row.
By using T-codes ST03 or ST03N
Go to transaction ST03 > switch to expert mode > from left side menu > and there in system load history and distribution for a particual day > check query execution time.
Try table rsddstats to get the statistics
Using cache memoery will decrease the loading time of the report.
Run reporting agent at night and sending results to email.This will ensure use of OLAP cache. So later report execution will retrieve the result faster from the OLAP cache.
Also try
1. Use different parameters in ST03 to see the two important parameters aggregation ratio and records transferred to F/E to DB selected.
2. Use the program SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS (Performance of BW infocubes) to see the aggregation ratio for the cube. If the cube does not appear in the list of this report, try to run RSRV checks on the cube and aggregates.
Go to SE38 > Run the program SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNS
It will shown dimension Vs Fact tables Size in percent.If you mean speed of queries on a cube as performance metric of cube,measure query runtime.
3. To check the performance of the aggregates,see the columns valuation and usage in aggregates.
Open the Aggregates...and observe VALUATION and USAGE columns.
"---" sign is the valuation of the aggregate. You can say -3 is the valuation of the aggregate design and usage. ++ means that its compression is good and access is also more (in effect, performance is good). If you check its compression ratio, it must be good. -- means the compression ratio is not so good and access is also not so good (performance is not so good).The more is the positives...more is useful the aggregate and more it satisfies the number of queries. The greater the number of minus signs, the worse the evaluation of the aggregate. The larger the number of plus signs, the better the evaluation of the aggregate.
if "-----" then it means it just an overhead. Aggregate can potentially be deleted and "+++++" means Aggregate is potentially very useful.
In valuation column,if there are more positive sign it means that the aggregate performance is good and it is useful to have this aggregate.But if it has more negative sign it means we need not better use that aggregate.
In usage column,we will come to know how far the aggregate has been used in query.
Thus we can check the performance of the aggregate.

4. Run your query in RSRT and run the query in the debug mode. Select "Display Aggregates Found" and "Do not use cache" in the debug mode. This will tell you if it hit any aggregates while running. If it does not show any aggregates, you might want to redesign your aggregates for the query.
Also your query performance can depend upon criteria and since you have given selection only on one infoprovider...just check if you are selecting huge amount of data in the report
Check for the query read mode in RSRT.(whether its A,X or H)..advisable read mode is X.

Error RCIRAS0546, failure occured while the report was being processed

Hello all,
We use Crystal Reports 2008 V1 server on Linux. With 2 reports now we get the error when viewing the report from the Central Management Console (CMC)
"Your request could not be completed because a failure occurred while the report was being processed. Please contact your system administrator. [RCIRAS0546]"
In de /var/log/messages, I get messages like these:
Sep 28 17:37:30 vsrv01 boe_crprocd[25630]: A failure occurred while the server was processing report file 2:11154 (RCIRAS0568)
Sep 28 17:37:40 vsrv01 boe_crprocd[25630]: A failure occurred while the server was processing report '10. LEN Rapportage per scenario (kapitaallasten, investeringen, algemene gegevens) (V1)' (id=11154) for user 12 (RCIRAS0567)
I tried several parameters on the CrystalReportsProcessingServer, like increasing/decreasing the Maximum Current Jobs and Number of Prestarted Children. None of these make a difference. Als the error occurred when viewing the report as Administrator.
The reports has a dynamic parameter, wtih content coming from the database (drop-down list). When selecting one value the report is viewing fine. With a selection of more values the error occurred. In Crystal Reports 2008 there is no problem.
I restarted the CRProcessingServer with -trace. In the trace I see the following lines:
It seems that several subprocesses start for retrieving data based on the parameter values.
After the crash of the first child, the above mentioned error occurs.

We got this error message on a report that had 5 subreports, 3 of which were based on stored procedures. The report was running fine in our Dev environment and in the CR developer, but not when we published it to another environment. The problem was caused because the stored procedures had been changed in Dev (so that they ran correctly) but these changes had not been released to the other environment. Once the scripts were run to update the stored procedures the report ran successfully. So it apepars that the problem was because the stored procedure/s the subreports were using were failing, but we only got the RCIRAS0546 error message.

Error: Your request could not be completed because a failure occurred while the report was being processed.

I'm not sure if this is due to bad deployment, but I suspect it is, at least due to bad environment.
My env is:
Solaris 10 64 bit
Oracle 10g client installed under /opt/oracle/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/client_1
BOXIR2 + FP2.6 installed under /opt/reporting, running under user 'bouser'. by the way, 'tnsping' works via that user.
Important bouser env:
ORACLE_HOME=/opt/oracle/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/client_1
TNS_ADMIN=$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib:$ORACLE_HOME/lib32
I reboot the box, then start BO like so:
cd /opt/reporting/bobje
. setup/env.sh
./mysqlstartup.sh
./startservers
./tomcatstartup
Then, I import a BIAR file with some reports, and whenever I try to open any report via infoview, I get a gray error message INSTEAD of the input param form:
Error:
Your request could not be completed because a failure occurred while the report was being processed. Please contact your system administrator.
This does not occur in our BOXIR2 on Windows, which is why I'm guess it's a deployment/env issue. The main obstacle I have is: how do I diagnose this? there's nothing in the bobje/logging folder, nothing in the /var/adm/message file except for the following line:
May 5 15:23:23 testbox1 boe_pagesd[3865]: [ID 253862 user.error] A failure occurred while the Page Server was processing report 'test report' (id=777) for user Administrator

The explanation, from a comment in the above linked blog post:
"To elaborate more on the error, what basically happens is that the Crystal Reports engine tries to get the status of the u201Creport printeru201D aka u201Cdefault printeru201D which was present on the system when the report was created, but the printer does not exist anymore. This causes the Crystal engine to error out. By setting the report to u201CNo Printeru201D, it tells the Crystal Engine not to look for that report printer when opening the report."
