What's the Successful Way of Taking Out Java Out Of Safari ?

Disabled Java in Safari Preferences .
Heck , Disabled Javascript too .
Disabled Plugins .
Disabled Extensions .
i still get :
Macintosh HD  >  Library  >  Java  >  Extensions  >  ( unable to view , it's only viewable with a System Administrator ( ie root ) that i don't have the username and/or password for )
Macintosh HD  >  Library  >  Java  >  JavaVirtualMachines  >   ( unable to view , it's only viewable with a System Administrator ( ie root ) that i don't have the username and/or password for )
Macintosh HD  >  Library  >  Internet Plug-Ins  >  JavaAppletPlugin.plugin
I have downloaded and updated OS X 10.8.3 Combo .
Java isn't listed anywhere in Systems Preferences .  But if i click on the .jar 's and other Java .app 's , i can get the consoles to launch .  I haven't tested if i can work it .  I don't want to .  I don't want it .  I didn't download it .  I didn't launch the .app either .
Apple logo  >  System Preferences...  >  ( No Java icon ) .
In Safari , it doesn't matter if i config the Preferences a hundred times .  Safari after 5 to 10 seconds will load up the Reader in Blue highlight at the top right , which means some type of Adobe Reader is running in the background , which i haven't downloaded and installed and launched , also if i click it , it copies the webpage to a pdf look a like , which is pointless , and then i go back to the Internet Plug-ins and the Extensions in the Safari Preferences and it switches back in front of my eyes to what i set the configuration for .  Like a real-time config edit on the fly .  What is happening ?
As i write this Discussion Question , i am constantly being jumped around to write , as if ( if you have ever tested or used remote login and remote access ) there's a slight delay between you computer entry , and the result of the computer entry on the computer you're logged in to and remote accessing .  Strange .  Weird  .  Whatever you wanna call it  .  I got it  .  Very odd computer device behaviour .
Terminal and Terminal sudo su :
java -version
1.6 build
Java 6
i have already gone thru both scenarios of :
Downloading the Apple Approved Java 2013-002 scenario .  Downloading , installing , launching , and then ultimately once i got it , Disabling it .  It shows up in System Preferences Other with the Java icon .  Also i have downloaded and installed the Java 7 latest Apple Approved Java , and Disabled it .
Java still persists .
And then if i Delete the Java .app 's and plugin 's , etc , etc , etc , what happens is ultimately i get the infamous Apple Windmill for about 5 seconds , and then asks , you are attempting to make changes , so Enter in your Administrator username and password , and i do , and the System Administrator ( ie root ) user that has this access , i do not know , so i am essentially stuck with a OS X with missing Software that can't be unistalled / reinstalled / repaired , and then i must Clean Install OS X in Recovery since it's inoperable .

And what's your thoughts on this ?      http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5701        http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5734

i am giving away a computer, what is the best way to wipe out data prior to depature

Did the Mac come with two grey disks when new? If so, use disk one to erase the drive using Disk Utility and then re-install the OS from the same disk. Once installed, quit and when the new owner boots they can set it up as a new out-of-the-box Mac when they boot it up. The grey disks need to be passed on with the computer.
If you need detailed instructions on how to erase and re-install please post back.
If the Mac came with Lion or Mountain Lion installed the above process can be done using the Recovery HD as since Lion no restore disks are supplied with the Mac.
The terms of the licence state that a Mac should be sold/passed on with the OS installed that was on the machine when new (or words to that effect).

  • What's the easiest way to cut out about 20 seconds (in the middle) of a minute+ vid that i made on and downloaded from my iPhone 6

Hi - I'm a vid beginner, actually have a training session tomorrow at an App Store, but for now...what's the easiest way to cut out about 20 seconds (in the middle) of a minute plus vid that i made on and downloaded from my iPhone 6? I I'mported the clip to iPhoto on my new Macbook pro. The TRIM function in iPhoto seems only to want to let me cut from either end. I guess if I do cut out a section in the middle, maybe 'glueing' the sections back together is too much for iPhoto to handle (?). I spent about 10 minutes just trying to (unsuccessfully) import to iMovie, so that aint working either. Quicktime maybe? Thx for reading

    Hey jabXhook,
Thanks for the question. You may have already received your answer from the Apple Store yesterday, but iMovie is definitely the way to go if you want to trim or split clips. Check out the following resource:
Trim, split, and move clips - iMovie Help
    http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0.6/#/movf8b8fc9b2
Trim unwanted frames from a clip
    1. In the timeline, select the range of frames you want to keep in the clip.
    2. Control-click the clip, and choose Trim Selection from the shortcut menu.
The clip is trimmed to the boundaries of the selection.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

what is the easiest way to take out white background in elements 12?

    Try this:
Open the program and go to Expert tab
Double click the background layer to convert it to a regular layer
Get the magic wand tool out of the toolbox. On the tool's option bar, check "contiguous" or leave it unchecked depending on the presentation of the white background. Start with tolerance setting 32; you may have to adjust it down - - depends on picture
Left click on a white area and hit delete on keyboard
Press CTRL+D to get rid of the marching ants
If you encounter a problem, post a representative picture here for targeted guidance. You can do that via the camera icon in the reply box, but not in an e-mail reply.

  • What is the best way to lay out color-coded Excel data in InDesign?

I’ve been away from layout for some time. I now need to lay out color-coded Excel data (3 columns, 200 rows) in InDesign 5.5. The data will need to be in alpha order and each row will be color coded, with a color key at the top of the page. What is the best way to lay this out? Should I use the table tool and create a new style for each color that I need to use?
    Thanks for your help.

I think this will work in CS3.
Start off by inserting Styles of WEEK, Mon to Friday (as per left)
Set the Week No. to Bullets and Numbering and insert as per screen shot
Do the same for Days Monday through to Sunday
Also set up Monday style NEXT STYLE to be Tuesday
When you get to Sunday - loop the Styles back to WEEK style.
Then as per first screen shot you just have to insert RETURNS all the way down to initiate the style.

  • What is the best way to learn SAP Java

    Hi,
I would like to understand basic principles of SAP Java, to check how it is working, primarily J2EE components like JMS, WS, EJB, Persistence... As I'm ABAP and PI consultant, I see this as my next step, sure I'm not aiming to be experienced Java developer beacuse this would require much more time than I have now.
So far I read "Foundations of Java for ABAP Programmers" but I think that this is just a begining. I want to learn more stuff about SAP J2EE    and J2SE is for me, let say, clear.
Also I start reading "Java Programming With The Sap Web Application Server" as my next book about SAP Java, but it is not quite that I don't like this book, it is somehow not interested for me.
So I would like to hear your suggestions what is the best way or the best approach to learn SAP Java. I see this as future help for one ABAP and PI consultant. Also I've done some Mapping developments for PI (SAX and DOM parser), so really think for me to know Java better it will be "bigger plus" for me.

I will suggest you SAP Elearning section on SDN about Java Development.
    Below is the link....
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/java-elearning?dprpp=all
It contains lot of practical examples which will keep you interested as well..
But you wil lhave to be very selective there on whaich topic you wish to kick start.........
For example there is one called :
    Java for ABAP Programmers
    ABAP Objects for Java Developers
SAP Java World for ABAP Programmers
    Java Mapping in Exchange Infrastructure

  • What is the best way to drop out a background to white?

I have several quite old architects drawings to reproduce. The problem is that with age, the original paper has yellowed and foxed. Can anyone suggest a good way of dropping out the background to white so that the image will look nice and clean when I print it, please? Normally I would bring the white point slider up in Levels and sort of burn it out, but I was wondering if there is a more subtle method of doing this. The trouble is I don't want to loose detail in the fine pencil lines at the same time.
    Thanks everyone - Brian.

Thanks for that, I'll give your method a try.
No no, I don't mean an insult - you read it wrong! Last thing I would do when asking for help... No, I mean that just 'turning up the white level' is crude, in that it looks like its been blasted by an atom bomb and looks awful, and I was wondering if a more scientific approach might not be applicable. For example, I've tried putting colour sampler points in the image and then independantly adjusting the R, G, and B levels etc until they match at 255 each, but it still looks blown out, but that's what I meant by being more 'scientific', ie perhaps using some of Photoshop's ability to measure colours to enable me to drop them out, for example.
I found a previous thread along the same lines as this and one suggestion was to use some special filters, but they turned out to be mac only.
The 'forensic' reference was to the Color Deconvolution filter, it was designed for police forensic departments as an aid to help spot where two different colours of ink have been used on a document, for example.
By the way, the drawings I'm working on are not all B/W only, some have colour washes on them too...
Perhaps the only way is to try and select the background areas first and then to drop them out.

  • What is the best way to send out mass emails on an iMac?

We have been using a different system and sending out emails on a PC.  I now need to send out a newsletter to our database and, having used one of the templates on the iMac need to send it out on my system.  Can anyone advise on the best way to do this?  I have updated the iMac to OS Yosemite 10.10.1 version

Create a group contact in Apple Contacts.
For examples, you create a group called business with as many email addresses inside. On your Apple Mail, you just type business, you will be able to send out the group emails out!!!

  • What's the easiest way to strip out the css from a page?

recreate it with tables and uncheck the 'use css instead of
html tags' box in dw's preferences?
    thanks.

    Hey Joe,
Sadly, it's something you'll have to do by hand. The Tables
-> CSS conversion is pretty painless but I've never seen it work
the other way properly. You're best to just copy and paste the
    content into tables.
It's too bad that your client needs it CSS free, tables are a
horrible way to deliver content but ... if the man signing the
check needs it done that way ... :(

  • WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO KNOCK OUT TRAFFIC NOISE IN SOUNDTRACK PRO

I have watched apple pros knock out the sound of the boat noise and just had the people talking, could someone explain how you knock out that sound again, I am pretty knew to this program. I am trying to knock out the background sound of the traffic. Thank you for your help,
    Bill

I worked on a project to cleanup up audio - where 'guerilla video' was shot in the streets of SF during the massive war protests - had:
    a. sanitation trucks operating
    b. wind
    c. bicycle bell
    d. heels/ footsteps
    e. background voices
    f. sound of the camera operators lens cap clicking against the camera body
    g. other vehicular noises
    I used:
    Peak
    Sound Soap
    Eventide Harmonizer
    Logic Audio / Pro plugins
    Lexicon PCM 80
    STP / plugins
and although we were able to reduce some of these, overall, I was quite unsatisified and realized, perhaps for the last time, that you simply cannot remove most 'aural debris' from a mix, period. If you want a quiet background, well now you know why most productions bother to shoot on sound isolated stages and love to yell "quiet on the set" (he).
And Ive had those who would argue with me in saying that 'old/dirty paintings can be cleaned up' - perhaps true however, usually the debris is on an outer layer and not mixed in much with the original artwork, at least to some extent. And even this kind of work is incredibly delicate and said to be quite difficult to do.
In the final analysis, the shooter was advised to realize that the very nature of the video - its completely urban setting, was still quite compelling.

  • What is the best way to learn about java?

What is the best and cheapest way to learn java?

I also am a Newbie to the Java language and am trying to get my head around it. I guess it all depends upon how much experience, and at what level, you have with programming in general. I have a good understanding of what my University tutor called "sequential logical thought" but I must confess this Object Oriented approach is, at first, most odd. However the Sun tutorial :
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/java/TOC.html
: is the one I use the most. If I don't understand a specific computing term then I look it up at :
    http://www.webopedia.com/
: which is a very good online encyclopedia of computing terms.
    There is also :
    http://www.joegrip.com/
: which is an online "interactive" tutorial (you have to pay)
I would advise against rushing out and buying a book until you have spent a whole day trolling through the 'net and seeing what it has to offer . There is a lot out there. The problem is wading through all the nonsense until you find what you're looking for.
    Good luck

  • HT5996 What is the best way to find out what OS all Mac users on the server are running?

I am the administrator of both Windows PC's as well as having 12 Mac-mini users.  I know several users have not updated their OS in quite a while.  Is there some way for me to find out what version a user is running beside going from one computer to another?
I do have OS X Server if that makes a difference.
I have been working with Mac's for less than a year, so I'm a work in progress when it comes to the Mac World.
    Thanks!

If you're able to log into those computers, check the content of the file /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist on them. If you're working from a Mac, you may also be able to find out by selecting the drive in the Finder and choosing Get Info from the File menu.

  • PE 13: What is the best way to cut out an unwanted segment and leave a fade-out/fade-in overlap?  Without multi-track overlaps?

I have a long video segment and want to remove unwanted segments and replace them with fade-in/fade-out transitions.  I know that I can do this between two separate video tracks by fading out Video 1 and fading in Video 2 and having the two tracks overlap during the transition.  Is there an easy way to do this on the same track?  The way I've done this before is to cut out the unwanted segment, then move the two segments to separate tracks and overlap them.
To compound the problem, I have a separate audio track for the wireless microphone I'm wearing. I need to pull that into the fade transitions.  So that's Video 1 and Audio 1 with Narration, all cut at the same time with overlapping fade-out/fade-in in the fewest steps.  Can Premiere Elements 13 handle that?

    billsbayou
Add On...I am weighing the merits of applying an audio transition directly below the video transition. Considering Crossfade's  Constant Gain or Constant Power with a forced alignment of Between Clips. According to Adobe documentation
Adobe Premiere Elements Help | Applying transitions to clips
Adobe Premiere Elements includes two audio transitions in the Crossfade category: Constant Power and Constant Gain. Though both provide fades, they differ slightly. Constant Power creates a smoother-sounding fade, while Constant Gain, though mathematically linear, often sounds abrupt.

  • WHAT IS THE FASTEST WAY OF TAKING HOTBACK IN WINDOWS

    Hello,
Me jr dba our production database size is 100GB ,upto now we have implemented
LOGICAL BACKUP ,now we are going to implement HOTBACK.Our OS is
WINDOWS 2003 ingeneral in windows we will use COPY command to copy
the files ,But this is taking long time to copy the files,is there any other commands in WINDOWS which will make this process fast
    Regards,
    Vamsi

    Vamsi,
Hold on mate! You are going too fast!
What's your database version first of all?
upto now we have implementedLOGICAL BACKUP ,
    You mean export/impor right?
now we are going to implement HOTBACK.Our OS is
WINDOWS 2003 ingeneral in windows we will use COPY command to copy
the files ,But this is taking long time to copy the files,is there any other commands in WINDOWS which will make this process fast
By copy command you mean to say , window's own copy command? So you are using user managed backup am I correct?
Well that's for sure nto a good idea first of all to take a backup of 100g ( and possibly growing) database completely everyday. You can get the benefit from converting backup strategy to RMAN and take the benefit of incremental backups.
If you are in 10g than Change Tracking can also give you added performane benefit for incremental backups.
I am not familiar in windows ( or whatever o/s I know), there is any possibility /command to do the copy faster!

  • What is the best way to white out logos

    Hi
I have some coloured logos  on white backgrounds
How do I have the logos as white on a coloured background
I want them to look a little like this bar I found
Any help would be much appreciated

    John Joslin wrote:
Holding Ctrl, drag it into the new Background file.
(This assumes you have nice solid colours and clear outlines!)
(Disclaimer: There are always three ways to do anything in Photoshop.)
If it was my job, I'd go to the Brands of the World website and get fresh, clear vector versions of the logos and build a perfect version from scratch. Wouldn't take any longer than trying to extract clean selections from the mage you already have, and the results would be immeasurably better.
One thing you have to be careful of is in checking to make sure the logos are authentic. The first one I checked—SAP (the first one in the list)—the "A" in the logo is wrong. The crossbar should be rounded a bit. It would be easy to match the real logo on this one...but it just shows you have to pay close attention. If you look through the other "SAP" logos, you should find a more accurate version.
