What's This? - Genius Bar Doesn't Know. Boot Options w Airport.

Whenever I hold Opt at startup I get a screen with the available boot drives and below it I see a drop down bar with the Airport icon next to it.
If I select the Windows partition the computer seems to freeze for 1 or 2 minutes and then starts loading windows. While it is frozen I can't move the mouse cursor and nothing seems to be happening. This is how things happen at home.
When I took it to the Genius Bar the Mini booted into Windows in about 15 seconds. The main difference is that the Airport Bar wasn't visible when I was at the store. I asked a few of the staff there and some said they did see it with their Macs at home and some didn't.
So I'd like to know what it is and how do I turn it off and get into bootcamp quicker?

I don't know what that airport thing is, frankly. Since you've had no replies though, I thought I'd suggest skipping that OS-choice screen altogether.
If the Mac isn't off--if you're already running one OS or the other--you can simply tell Mac OS X and tell Windows that you want to switch to the other OS. Booting should be much quicker than waiting through the Startup Manager ([more info|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1310]).
The "right way" is with Startup Disk, a program (and Pane in System Preferences) which scans for bootable devices and lets you choose which one you want the system to use, without it asking, from that point on (until you change it again).
In Windows, there's actually a handy little icon in the taskbar with a menu item for "Restart in Mac OS X." If you like the convenience of that icon, there's a program called BootChamp which does the same thing for the 'Mac side' [here|http://www.kainjow.com> (doesn't work on the Air or unibody macbook pro though).
In any case, sorry I don't have an answer to the Airport question, but I hope this more direct route gets you past that awful delay.

I had to reset Firefox (due to slowness and shockwave error message that I kept getting). Itunes was downloaded after the reset, but I can't get into it? Any ideas?

I ran into this same problem after Firefox auto-updated to v24! I'm on the Beta Channel and I had Firefox set to automatically update.
What I did to correct the problem:
1. Turned off all automatic updating.
Options> Advanced> Update [tab]
Firefox updates
[x] Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them
[ ] (unchecked) Use a background service to install updates
I also unchecked;
[ ] Search Engines (I will turn this back on after I'm done with my experiment.)
2. Googled 'Firefox v23 download', downloaded and installed: Firefox_Setup_23.0b1.exe (version 23, Beta 1)
Since I reverted back to v23, I haven't had any problems.

I have an HP ProBook 4520s. I have been using HP Protect tool's Password manager to store and manage my passords for all Login websites in Firefox 3.6. As a result, I just swiped my fingerprint to log on to any website.

Although the password manager works with Internet Explorer 9, I need it to work with Firefox 4 as this is my preferred browser.

I guess this means that IE is more user friendly for HP Password Manager finger swipe recall of passwords, a favorite of mine. I still don't see a post from Firefox as to why they haven't produced fix. So I'll switch to IE until things change. I don't see value in downgrading to a Firefox version that's no longer going to be supported.

iMacs take generic power cords. If it fits into the back of the iMac and an electrical socket, it'll work.

Alot of free apps offer in app purchases which has probably happened here, things for extra points scores etc etc are offered for prices which is how the app can afford to be free via the charge in other purchases within the game.
These are the sorts on in app purchases in littlest pet shop may have been one of these?
If you are 100% sure that no purchse was made get in touch with apple they should be able to tell you what was purchased and when then you can take it from there?

Photoshop CS6 keyboard shortcut not working -- what is this red bar tool?

I want Ctrl+Shift+S to do SAVE AS. I set it as such in the keyboard shortcuts, but when I do that key combo, all I get is this:
What is this thing? The mouse pointer changes to this. I can move it around and draw a box (in the background of PS, outside any open images). I have no idea what it is, but I want it to go away and do SAVE AS instead. Can anyone help? Thanks.

This is a recent problem. Added CSS3Draft and HTML 4.01 Transitional, from the original CSS2.1 and HTML 1.0 Transitional. Since then, can still view my Expression Web 4 website in IE9, but Firefox no longer will view site. Instead I get the error mentioned above. Expression Forum site, and CoffeeCup forum site both say this is problem with Firefox, that others have also been having. They say, Firefox can't see the site on my drive, since the address is not same as it would be if site was up on a server. Can you help?

What's the genius bar? It's the section of an Apple Store where employees can help you with your iPhone issues. You'd need to make an appointment with them here to fix your issue, if your iPhone is within warranty.

Odd contacts syncing error - Genius Bar has never seen

but I've seen this error twice!! last week while trying to sync my boss's iphone 3GS to his MacBook Air via iTunes, I got an error pop-up. It was a problem syncing contacts via iTunes. The error said "problem remapping record identifiers." Anyone ever seen this before? Know how to fix this/keep it from happening? I've seen it before, but have no idea what it means, & it's not good when the Genius Bar doesn't have a clue either! Thanks!

Why is signing up for genius bar so difficult

I just spent fifteen minutes in an endless loop, trying to sign up for the genius bar at an apple store. Tried calling the store, was told by automated voice that I can only do it online. Tried to sign up online, following instructions (find store, select genius bar) but it just sent me to a page that explains what the genius bar is, and suggests other means of support. Finally got the store by pretending I wanted to buy something, explained it was an itunes problem, and I wanted genius bar, and she said let me route you to the iTunes department and sent me back to Customer Care (for which I would have to pay $29 to solve a problem that is definitely Itunes 12 software related). Fortunately she told me the magic word to get someone at the store: "manager." That person also tried to route me to customer care, until I said, aren't there genius bar people who know Itunes? He admitted there were, so now I have an appointment. I'm an Apple Mac Mini user, have been with apple for decades, but this is ridiculous!

Although we cannot speculate "why", the 'Decision Tree' approach probably indicates that Apple feels that in some cases 'other methods' may be better use of their resources.
I have never failed to get a Genius Bar appt. - answer the questions 'ambiguously' where the 'system' cannot find a match for your statement. As a test one time for another user in your predicament, I put "Blah, blah, blah" in the description field = worked like charm (I stopped short of actually 'making' the reservation)
