What's this under the Recent section?

There's album or something under the Recent section in the Source list that I have no idea what it is, how it's set or how to change it. It's the first element. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. Does anyone know what it is and how to change it? Thanks!

It's not like a plug for a hole, it's about 4" x 3/4" and has a long hole in the middle. Looks like the ipod is meant to sit inside of it and have the cord plugged in but the ipod cannot stand up or lie flat in it. Perhaps it's some sort of adaptor, clicks into something, maybe that the old thicker ipod sat in but it does not fit in the dock of the old ipod, the new one sits in there just fine.
I'm stumped as to what it could be that Apple thought we were all going to need it.

I have a "hacker" PC showing up under the "Shared" section of the Finder

Today I noticed a PC computer icon showing up under the "Shared" section of the finder. The computer name was brn_921bc1. I immediately went into System Preferences and turned off file sharing. Is it really that easy for a PC hacker to come into my computer? Please help, as this seems to be a huge security threat.

I doubt this is a hacker but you do seem to have an insecure setup. If you have your computer connected directly to a cable modem then you are essentially on a shared subnet with lots of other people Most of them aren't hackers -- probably none of them are. But this situation does leave you vulnerable which is why many people prefer to place a router in between their cable modem and their computer even if they are only connecting a single mac or pc to the internet.
My first suggestion is that you turn on your Mac's firewall immediately. Open your System Preferences and type "firewall" in the search box. Hit return. When the firewall screen opens select "Allow only essential services". You should do this before you finish reading this thread.
My next suggestion is to buy what's called a NAT router and stick it in between your cable modem and your mac as soon as practical. This will give you a far more secure setup than you can get with a software firewall alone. If you need help setting it up, come back here and I'm sure you can find the advice you need.

The recent section in the aperture library isn't working

The recent section in the Aperture library is supposed to contain the last few months, the last import, the photo stream, etc. My recent section has started to have a mind of its own. The first item is a project from several months ago. I can't delete it, or move it, or do anything with it and I don't want it there. The second item is supposed to be Last Month. It is empty, although I've imported hundreds of photos in the last month. Also, when I change the preference for the range of months, nothing changes. Last Import is also empty. Photo Stream, Flagged, Rejected and Trash all work fine. How do I make this section work? This is completely flaky. I've tried trashing all the Aperture preference files to no avail. This was happening in Lion, but upgrading my system to Mountain Lion and Aperture to 3.3.2 didn't change anything. Help!

Two things:
First, it's actually a bit confusing regarding the project at the top of the recent projects list.
The way that project is set is if you go to the Projects view under library that shows the thumbnail views of all your projects. If you double-click a project, then that project will be set as the "recent" project at the top of the list.
This confused me as well until somebody told me how it worked. Simply clicking projects in the sidebar won't set that.
Second, as far as "last month" I was having some problems with that smart album in the 3.3.1 update. It wasn't updating properly. 3.3.2 has resolved it for me. Try going to Aperture's preferences and under General, click one of the arrows next to "Show next X month album" where you change X from 1 to 2 and back to 1. See if this "unsticks" things.

The only way I can stop Acrobat is by means of the task manager. I tried to de-install and the re- install Acrobat but the behaviour is always the same. What can I do??

Have you opened Acrobat and gone to Help>Updates to get an updated install?

Why are my iphone4S and ipad3 no longer being seen in finder under the devices section

I am new to the Apple ecosystem and for the most part I have fallen in love with it, I have had my fill of the PC era and was on the verge of a mental breakdown using them. Well I bought a MBP 13" an ipad3 and I have an iPhone 4s. When I first got these items I was able to drag and drop files like a movie that I own and copied to the hard drive. This was done in finder, under the devices section it would show my phone and my ipad however after I installed the latest iTunes software it seems that this has disapeared and now I cannot find my devices in the finder area to drag and drop these files anymore. So, my question is this, has Apple done away with this function and if so how can I drag and drop a file to the ipad3 now? Thank you all for your help.

Unknown names under the shared section on my itunes, help!

Yesteday i opened my itunes and i found three unknown account names like "Sam's itunes" under the shared section and when i clicked them it could listen to all of their music. I thought restarting my computer would help but i didnt do anything. Today when i opened my itunes more names appear and when i try to dissconnect it doesnt work. Why is this happening and how do i stop it? im scared people are able to get my information. Btw i live in a dorm at school, so im not sure if this is affecting it or not.

You are seeing libraries your neighbors have made available for sharing on your local WiFi network. If you don't want to see them, go to the iTunes menu > Preferences > General and uncheck "Shared libraries". To share your own library, select iTunes > Preferences > Sharing. It should be off unless you have turned it on. You can share your whole library or just certain playlists. You can share it openly or require a password. Give the password to those you want to share with. Note that sharing is not the sasme as home sharing. While your computer is on and iTunes is open, others in your network can play your shared items, but can’t import shared items into their libraries.
Go to the iTunes Help menu and type sharing in the search box if you want more details.

1. iTunes won't offer cloud downloads for songs that it "thinks" are in your library, even if it "knows" the files are missing. If you've exhaustively searched for the missing files and there is no prospect of repair by restoring to them to their original locations, or connecting to new ones, then delete that tracks that display both the missing exclamation mark and are of media kind Purchased/Protected AAC audio file. Don't hide from iTunes in the cloud when asked, close iTunes, then reopen. You can download from the cloud links or iTunes Store > Quicklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer > All songs > Download all.
2. Why? Not sure, perhaps 3rd party tools or accidental key presses combined with previously hidden warning messages when trying to organize the library. There is a hint that using the feature to downsample media as it is synced to a device may also be involved, though I've not replicated it. Whatever the reason a backup would protect your media.

Wow. I have not seen that question nor a discussion. I agree with James. I don't think it will, and if the power drain is different, maybe it'll be less and not more.
With a 10 hour battery, you have plenty of time to test it and see. If the battery depletes fast, just go back to the other way.
If you do try it, let us know what you discover.

Why does the content spill over and how do I position this under the menu and title?

I was following this tutorial on how to add a scrolling image gallery to a Flash website.

From what I understand from this tutorial, it is just a matter of copying the Actionscript code and pasting it onto the timelines then making modifications on the XML.

I pasted the code onto the blank keyframe labeled "Gallery"...
But all I get is this weird effect when I click on the button for the gallery...

When you put a blank keyframe on a timeline, any content put in there is supposed to only be contained in that very frame, right? How come then that - whenever the gallery button is clicked on - the content from that section spills out onto the other sections even when I click on other button for the other areas?
I just really couldn't think why this is happening - any reason why this is so?
And how do I position the gallery right under the section header and menu bar?

You should create a manually movieclip symbol with nothing in it and take a copy of it from the library and place it in the frame where you intend for the gallery to display. Give it an instance name of "container_mc" and remove the following line from your callThumbs function

You probably need to do the same for the mask and the full images since they appear to also be created using dynamic mc's.
