What's up with email?
I don't understand why, when I delete my emails on my iPhone, they don't delete on my MacBook and I get swamped with emails whenever I open the application. Some of the emails that show up in the application on my MacBook and even when I sign into Hotmail or Gmal don't show up on my phone and vice versa. Also, I have the option to delete emails with my Hotmail but not with my Gmail account.. can someone please explain why this is and possibly give me a solution to fix these problems?

Why is apple not providing information on what the problem withe email is and what they are doing to fix, along with a time frame for fixing the problem.
It was because the problem was major. If you do not know tech, you should know that a two day outage usually indicates some type of virus, hack, or a bad software load that they had to unravel. The common way to solve that is to rebuild servers and put back into service. That takes time.
Apple did not want to admit this problem. My guess at this stange was that they loaded new software that might be associated with the new IOS and it crashed. To reveal this would be to cast into doubt their future revenue.
Either way. Run do not walk away from Icloud products and services. Apple has demonstrated they can not be a business partner. -
What is wrong with email system?
Ever since Verizon forced this new interface / format on us, I've had nothing but problems accessing and managing email. Can someone please get this problem resolved. It was horrible at the end of last month, then better in January, and now horrible again. I can log in and see my emails, but when I click on them to access, they won't load. (System times out.) Similarly, when I try to delete an email or forward, it's a 50-50 chance that it will happen. It's taking me twice as long to access email, and I'm definitely considering another provider.....
Please revert to the "old days" of a couple of months ago!My E mail is working fine! I am using IE8 and Windows XP. I have had some problems in the past. Report your problem to "feedback" on E mail page.

When I try to send an email either new, or reply on my phone I receive a notification that recepient will not allow relaying. The email will then sit in my outbox. At some point it will send but it is hardly dependable. What is wrong with my settings?
The collum to the right listed similar problems. The solution appears to be that under smtp outgoing settings the user name and password are listed as optional. I have not plugged in the information and it seems to be working. However from my office it always allowed the relaying. The true test will be when I try to respond later from the road.

No, it is not a bug. It is working as designed. And there is noting in the manual that staes you can create folders for a POP account.
You do know that any email sent through a POP account stays on the provider's server (often for years) even if you delete it from your inboxes, right? Completely beyond your control. Refusing to use an IMAP service doesn't protect you from anything. -

i was was having problems with email and thought let's start from beginning so I dumped my email account which is att using yahoo and this morning I can't get any of my emails or send email, anyine have any ideaS?

My yahoo mail app wouldn't accept my password for my id a few days ago. I have not sorted it out yet. Happened after I download a new version of the yahoo app. Waiting for a new version of the app. Reading my mail on my laptop instead.

I use to be able to rotate my iPhone and change the view of an image, Web page, email, and so on, from portrait to landscape, but after update, I cannot. I can only view in portrait mode. Anybody know what’s up with that?
You need to do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B.
Restart phone
Reset phone
Restore in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup
If restoring as new doesn't help, there is a hardware failure in the phone that needs evaluation by Apple. -

It's a scam - ignore it. Apple probably know about it but you could forward it as an attachment to [email protected] to make sure.

Problems with email and SMS after 1.3.5
Let me first say that I love the Pre. Up until this point it has been perfect - I have a replacement, but that is because I dropped it (wrong angle, wrong location, broken screen). However, following the 1.3.5 update I'm now having a fairly important problem with email and sms - I can receive email and messages, but not send them.
I have two email accounts. My personal account is with earthlink. My work account goes through an ISP using the domain name of my employer. I'm not using Microsoft Exchange or Outlook. I have tried deleting and reentering the accounts and that did not work. I can receive messages but get error messages when I try to send.
The same for messaging. I don't use it very often. But yesterday I get a text message and tried to respond and got the error message.
I power the phone off every night because I have a landline and use that as the primary phone at home.
I have been looking around message boards trying to find a fix for this. Has anyone had this issue and resolved it?

I found a fix for the email problem, in posts on precentral and this board from a few months ago. The info came up in a Google search, and not searches of the boards, which is kind of frustrating. Here is the info, and the link. I really wish Palm would put info about this work around on their site, or at least make it easy for people to find. The solution is the last message in the thread linked below:
Had the same problem. Checked with Earthlink - no help. Checked with Sprint - no help. Checked with Palm - no help. Here is what finally worked:
Delete the earthlink account and start over. When you do - this is the key - set up the account manually! If you use the Pre defaults and try to change the settings it will not correct the problem. Your settings for outgoing mail must be:
"smtpauth.earthlink.net"
Use Authentication set to "on"
username is your email address
your email password
port set to "587"
encryption "none"
Again, the key is to set up manually.

This morning, I am unable to log in to Hotmail. The homepage appears normally, but after I enter my email address and password and click to submit them, a window pops us asking me what to do with the file "default.aspx." I have a Vista machine, and last night my computer automatically installed a ton of Microsoft updates. In fact, the update list shows that one of the updates failed to install. At the end of this message, I have pasted the details of the failed update. I have checked the Hotmail support forum, and someone else posted that the have experienced the same problem this morning. The Microsoft "expert" asked him or her to contact Mozilla for support for this issue. Thanks in advance for whatever help you can provide, although I highly suspect that this is a problem on the Microsoft/Hotmail end, not yours.

I won't be able to provide you a time estimate by when it will be solved but hotmail/mozilla is certainly looking at this issue.

In the beginning of this year I used Nokia Messaging on E71 and I really loved it!
Since this autumn I am using it on my new N97 and I am confronted with totally different experience:
- the application is very slooooow..
- its unreliable - very ofter emails arrive with hours delay, a sync may take up to minutes
- its very very buggy - truncated icons, diplay randomly jumping up and down, when scrolling.
- very bad HTML display of emails - tiny (unreadable) default font and no wrap to screen when zooming - I thought emails were for reading?
- many, many usability issues
I just cannot believe it - How has Nokia managed to convert once such a good piece of software into such incredible disaster?
Recently an update was published - I tried it immediately... To my big disappointment it contains all the same bugs and introduces new ones..
How is this possible? What is happening at Nokia?Also my N86 as the same problem.
And in global setting Nokia deleted the option to read always in HTML.
And there is not any option to write html Mails -
