What's up with iTunes Radio?

.. only 1 or 2 stations are playing of my 12 preset stations.  the rest are dead.

Yes, iTunes Radio includes commercials.  You can purchase commercial-free iTunes Radio (if it is supported in your country) by subscribing to iTunes Match.

  • What's up with iTunes for Windows 7 64 bit?  Makes my PC run like a 286 on Windows 3.11.

What's up with iTunes for Windows 7 64 bit?  So slow and draggy.  Makes my high end PC with multi-core processor and video card run like a 286.  Even did this after doing a fresh install of the operating system with the latest version of iTunes.
No other software does this on my machine.  There has to be some crazy issue causing this.

    Try this,
    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

  • What's Wrong With iTunes 11? It's Extremely Annoying!

What ' s wrong with iTunes? Both of stores -in browser and iTunes- crash. Apple need to handle this because I can't buy anything and surf on the store. I hope the image can explain my problem. Thank you in advance. This happened after updating from 10.7 to 11.

    Oke another long shot
Via Edit - Preferences - Advanced - Reset Cache, try to clear your iTunes Store Cache

  • What's wrong with iTunes Canada?

What's wrong with iTunes Canada? It's becoming archaic. While the UK store is selling TV programs and now has the iPhone, the neighboring country to the United States has nothing new since iTunes U came out. No movies, no TV programs, no iPhone... And to top it all, Steve Jobs has never said a word about iTunes Canada. No official statement about these services in iTunes Canada. ARE we going to have movies? Are we going to have TV programs? When will we have a carrier for the iPhone?
    Hello? Anyone there?

This is user to user forum only, so no one on these boards can answer your questions. When the contracts for all Canadian copyright holders are in place for Apple to distribute this content in the store, Apple will announce. Until then, anything else that may be discussed is strictly speculation & speculation on new products or services from Apple is against the "terms of use" of these forums. Sorry.

I am getting the error "We're sorry we cannot complete your request on the iTunes store at this time. Please try again later." on both my iPhone and iTunes on my computer. What is wrong with iTunes? Is the server down or what? I need to download some things and update some apps...

I've been getting the same message for like an hour now.  Since everything was working fine a few hours ago, and nothing changed on my end before it stopped working, I'm guessing it's something on Apple's end.  They probably already know about it by now, and are hopefully working on fixing it, so there's probably not much we can do but wait for them to fix it.

iTunes in Windows is difficult to uninstall.
I found this for you in an older thread (read carefully before you start):

    Resolution
Note that the following procedure involves a registry edit. Back up your registry prior to proceeding.
    (1) Do a complete uninstall of iTunes and related software components as per the instructions in the following document (but do not attempt to reinstall iTunes just yet):
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
    (2) Launch Regedit as an administrator. In your Start Search field, type regedit. Right-click on the Regedit entry that comes up and select "Run as administrator" as per the following screenshot:
    (3) In the left-hand pane of Regedit, click the triangle next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE to expand its contents.
    (4) Expand the contents of SOFTWARE
    (5) Expand the contents of Microsoft
    (6) Expand the contents of Windows
    (7) Expand the contents of CurrentVersion
    (8) Expand the contents of Installer
    (9) Expand the contents of UserData
    (10) Expand the contents of S-1-5-18
    (11) Right-click on Components and select "Permissions" as per the following screenshot:
    (12) In the "Permissions for Components" screen that comes up, click the Advanced button:
    (13) In the "Advanced Security Settings for Components" screen that comes up, click the "Owner" tab.
    (14) In the "Owner" tab, check the "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects tickbox, select "Administrators" and click Apply:
(14a) If (after clicking Apply) you receive a "Registry Editor could not set owner on the key currently selected, or some of its subkeys" message, click OK:
    (15) Click OK in the "Advanced Security Settings for Components" screen.
    (16) Click OK in the "Permissions for Components" screen.
    (17) Quit out of Regedit.
    (18) Try installing iTunes using the latest version of the iTunes installer downloaded from the Apple website:

  • Has anyone notice some glitches with iTunes Radio?

One problem have had is  everytime I close my radio on the background it erases all the songs I added to my wish list. And another problem is that sometimes i will try to add a song to my wishlist and it will restart my iPhone completely like a hard reset.

I've had some problems with iTunes Radio as well. If I add a song to my wishlist then close the app in the backgroud it erases it! Also, if I look at my wish list, it has songs I have added but then it has two white boxes under my songs that I cant get rid of! No matter how many times I delete them they are always there.

  • What happened with iTunes radio?

I may be getting foggy, but it used to be that iTunes had an entry "Radio" in its sidebar which gave access to a huge number of internet radio stations. What ever happened with that? And why did it disappear? I have version 11.1.3

They decided to hide the itunes radio link and have it turned off by default in preferences. I gues there were not a lot of people using it. It is the ONLY thing I use itunes for so I am NOT a fan of the change.
Apple is getting more and more un-Stever Jobs since he has been gone. Unfortunately, we are all going to have to deal with bad decisions like this in the future. There is noone left to fight for the user experience. As each day goes past Apple becomes more and more like Windows poor user experience.
Hiding internet radio? Not a good idea. Its a core function of a music player. I had to google it just to find the friggin thing. Next thing will be forcing updates on people like Windows does right when you are logging in and need your computer to function the most.

  • What is the deal with iTunes Radio?

So just tried out the iTunes Radio as an alt to pandora and heart radio . Something weird started happening though. I figured classic video game music would be a pretty good thing to study too so I set it and the first 2 songs are ok. That's when I start getting songs that aren't related to gaming at all. Next I get 2 linkin park songs avenged sevenfold and Bon jovi. While these aren't bad songs they don't have anything to do with the channel called " video game orchestral music"
I finally drew the line when it literally picked a Kelly Clarkson song. ***? ***? Am I failing at using the radio right or what's going on what is this I don't even

Cmon man it just played justin beiber ***

  • Is this all we get with iTunes Radio?  Or is more coming?

    Hi,
Are these the only radio stations we are going to get with iTunes?   I count 22.   Do I need to be patient as more types get added?  For example, I was hoping they would have a rave and disco station like I get with Pandora.  It seems like I can find way more categories with the latter.  Does anybody know what is planned?

I count 24. These are the "Featured" stations.
Apple has not stated how many more (if any) are going to get added.
You can create your own stations.
Click My Stations in the lower half and select a Genre listed or add a song or artist or yoru own genre. iTunes will generate songs based off this. You can then add other songs or artist (or remove songs or artists) and iTunes will use these selections to tweak the station more to your liking.
You can also send a link to this station to others by clicking the curved arrow next to the station name.
Most likely as more people use it, Apple will add features as they figure out what people are doing wtih it.
    Here's one for DIsco.

  • What's wrong with itunes 10.5 ??!!??

itunes 10.5 is so slow, and always in "no response" status.
I cannot sync my ipad2 with itunes...
I cannot back up my ipad2!
"netsh winsock reset" does not work for me...
I have tried to uninstall then re-install for couple times but the issues are still there...
My computer is a 64-bit Win7. itunes 10.4 works perfect on it~ But I want to upgrade my ipad5 to ios5 so I need itunes 10.5 to at least perform normally!
I hope apple can release a new version and fix all the problems soon... But what can I do now?

b noir, I really appreciate your help. I looked at what you suggested, but did not follow through. I fumbled my way around a few things. I uninstalled bonjour and icloud ( I do not have a mac or an iphone, so I didn't think I needed these things). That didn't seem to help or hurt. What worked for me seemed really wierd. So as I was goofing around. I clicked on the Quicktime icon on my desktop. When it opened up, it had the advertisements for music and movies. I clicked on the John Mayer ad and low and behold my itunes opened up. Oh happy day.!

  • Any problems with iTunes Radio?

The past two days I've been unable to access iTunes' RADIO function.  I get this msg:  "An error occured while contacting the radio tuning service.  Check your Internet connection or try again."
Obviously, I *am* connected to the Internet.  What's wrong?
I'm still on OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) on a 2009 iMac.  I'm good at keeping a "tidy" hard drive; i.e. - organizing in folders, cleaning out junk or old files, emptying trash several times a day, etc.
Thanks for any help -- Cathy

    According to the iTunes page:
*iTunes Radio requires iOS 7 or later; OS X v10.7 or later; Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later; 32-bit edition of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8; or Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation).
That said however, I am running Mac OS 10.7.5 and I get the same message as you! I suspect that Apple has done some of their usual "tweaking" and that iTunes Radio now requires that you have iTunes 11 minimum (or possibly Mac OS 10.8).
Yours is probably the fourth topic I've seen on this and none of them have any replys (that I saw) from the iTunes "heavy hitters" listed in the column on the right of the Discussions page.

  • New hard drive...now what to do with iTunes/iPhone??

My hard drive (thanks, Mac/Apple!) crashed completely a couple months ago, and it's been that long since I've backed up my phone. After a scare tonight I realized I really need to do that...only my phone still thinks it's synced with the iTunes on the old hard drive.  The iTunes on my new hard drive has none of the content that is currently on my phone.
What do I do?? How do I back it up without losing everything? Is that even possible? The crash happened in the middle of a backup, and I lost everything on my backup hard drive as well (so awesome).  However, we still have our giant huge insane music library where most of the songs are...it would just take ages to go through it and try to figure out what I had in my library (the library is a mix of my husbands and my music). There is also new content that I want to add to my phone, but I can't see how to add that. I tried to manually manage the music and downloads, but in order to do that I have to accept an "erase and sync" which means I'll lose everything.  I was able to transfer my iPhone purchases to the new iTunes.....
I have no idea where to go from here...

I have the same situation as largirl, and I'm dismayed to see that there has been no answer to her in seven months! I really don't want to lose the podcasts, music, and apps (and their data) that I have accumulated on the iPhone.
On a different thread (https://discussions.apple.com/message/8926954#8926954), I did find a helpful answer. Allan Sampson wrote:
Connect your iPhone and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone. Before doing so, you need to re-authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes.
Allan's helpful suggestion is three years old, but fortunately, it still applies. If any Apple folks are reading this, please expand this command to let us copy everything from the iPhone to the Mac.
