What's up with OS X version of 9iR2?
Has anybody heard any news lately about the OS X version of 9iR2? The developer release has been out for a while, but no updates. Will there ever be a full release of 9iR2 for OS X? When I pressed my company's Oracle sales rep for info on it, he didn't even know there was an OS X release available. Is anybody else loosing confidence in Oracle when it comes to OS X?

This announcement will allows mid-market companies using Mac OS X to take advantage of Oracle9i's enterprise capabilities, including availability, high reliability, and scalability at the lowest total cost of ownership.
In the first half of 2003 alone, more than 5,000 copies of Oracle9i Database Developer Release for Mac OS X were downloaded from the Oracle Technology Network (OTN). The software download is free-of-charge to all registered OTN members. With the upcoming production release, not only will customers be able to deploy enterprise class applications that leverage Oracle's leading database technology, but can do so economically by adding additional Xserve servers, utilizing Oracle's database clustering technology as computing power demands increase.

When on a page if I click on a web link I get a new window that is blank and asks me enter a web address. This started happening with the new 3.6 version. It seems to have something to do with what I choose for the location in my privacy settings as the window changes with each setting but I still cannot get to the new site. Any ideas? I have no problem with this in IE and I have to keep opening IE when I encounter the problem on Firefox which is annoying.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

What's up with the Preview Version?
When you click on the application "Preview" the version info says 4.0
When you open Preview and then click on about Preview, it says version 4.1
All of my computers are running 10.5.2 and are totally up to date.
Anyone else notice this about the Preview version?

Join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. If you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go toApple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. You'll get a get a Bug ID number; thus, starting a dialog directly with engineering.

What's wrong with the new version of Itunes....HELP!
I tried to install the ipod software for my new Nano - I got to the point of regeristring my ipod - and then the program bombed. I then tried to update Itunes - the installation vould not be completed...Message: The installation was interupted before completeing - the system was not modified and try back later. The main issue is that now I have no access to Itunes. The installation or lack there of removed the old version. I have read all of the help topics - I am at a totally loss. And, I can't get to my library....
Any help would be greatly appreciated.umm my music is synced depending on how i want it.. so right now I have it set up by artist, and alphabetically.

The End, one thing that is new (perhaps unintentionally) is that 6.04 appears to fix the repair permissions bug that 6.02 and 6.03 suffered from.

Problem opening album-art as could be done with previous iTunes versions
Issue Description:
In previous versions of iTunes you had an icon of the album-art bottom left of screen when you were playing the song. If you clicked the album-art icon it would open into its own window and you could stretch it as large as either the image dimensions allowed or as large as your monitor allowed.
I always use custom album art.
With iTunes 11, I cannot find any way of achieving the same thing. All we get at best is a 2 cm large album-art icon at best which if you click it starts the album from the beginning.
Question: Surely there is a way to achieve what was achievable with earlier iTunes versions with an ability to open and stretch the album-art so you can view it up large? If so how is it done now?
As it is, a 2cm icon of album-art is totally pointless and removes all interest in album-art. I prefer looking at album-art than the visualizer things which don't interest me. I'm probably from the old-school of vinyl records where album art was actually something to look forward to and some artists put a lot of effort into their album designs. I also put a lot of effort into custom album-art designs for personal use.
I cannot seem to find similar questions/answers on this comminity board.Thanks for your replies. I forgot to mention about the mini-player which I had tried. But the artwork is still very limited in size. But at least a little bigger than the icon lol. I have the old 30 inch Mac monitor, so having artwork I can spread across the screen can be great. (Especially when it's my own artwork lol)
I totally agree with those views in the link you gave. Too many to repeat except that iTunes has become very cluttered. I first used iTunes in OS 9 or was it OS 8 I can't remember. I don't think it appeared until OS 9. And some files I ripped and backed up as audio files back then are unrecognisable on OSX.
VLC is a third the size but can play almost anything under the sun. XLD is only 19 MB but can "rip ('properly' without ignoring errors like iTunes does) and convert" at audiophile quality for numerous audio formats and includes LAME for mp3. Vox, great miniature app (5 MB) to play most audiio file types but lacks a proper library system for ease of browsing what you may wish to play at any moment in time. Find me an OSX audio app with a decent library system & I will probably change. ATunes a java audio app does not give me any sound lol. It has a messy library system anyway. But its ability to play FLAC and import the iTunes library was appealing.
The ol' downgrade iTunes version trick. Yeah tried that a couple of times over the years. Should have learnt the first time. Not sure iTunes' designers change the library formatting on purpose in an attempt to prevent downgrading.

i just downloaded the latest version of itunes but i cant zync my iphone nor my ipod. it just to work perfectly with the older version of itunes but now itunes does not detect my ipod nor iphone. i have a windows pd and iwindows detects the iphone and ipod. what is something i can do to fix the problem??

- I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Featurs appin the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Repair your Apple software update.
Go to START > ALL PROGRAMS > Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install
If you don't find ASU, go to Control Panel:
START > CONTROL PANEL/ > Add n Remove Programs, highlight ASU and click CHANGE then REPAIR -

In Pages 09 we can do Mail Merge and Import Styles from a document. Can someone please explain how we can do this with the new version of Pages 5.1. Even Apple solutions are only valid for Pages Version 09. What a DOWN GRADE! Thank god Pages 09 is still there.

Just use Pages '09, which should be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Rate/review Pages 5 in the App Store.

Acrobat 7 is not supported with Windows 8 , but you can go ahead and try if it works ...
Otherwise you need to upgrade to latest version which is supported by Win 8 -

Restore it using the computer it normally syncs with, this should not require an iOS update.

When making a PDF version, the PDF does not show my footer. What's up with that?
Pulling a single page from a book written in Pages, I copy and drop a single page to andother pages document, then from there I export a PDF of that one page document. When the PDF is viewed, there is no header or footer present. What is up with that? I want the doc to look like the original. THX mc
Pages version? Did you have header and footer on in the new document?
You could try using Print (Cmd + P) > Click PDF button > Save as PDF. It worked fine on Snow Leopard with Pages 08 and also with Pages 09 -
