What's up with USB Ports in Mac OS???

One of the things I loved about my old TI-PB is that you could plug in any digital device and it would truly be "plug and play" (as opposed to my PC's which were a pain to get working correctly.) In that regard, those "Mac vs. PC" TV ads WERE correct...Until now....I have a brand new MBP, and I can't use my HP Scanjet or my Nikon Digital Camera. System Profiler "sees" the devices on the USB ports, but they don't work. I searched "USB" here and some one mentioned that while Rosetta can translate applications for the Intel chips, Rosetta cannot translate "drivers." WHAT!? A Mac with a "driver" problem??? Heck, that's inheard of, and one of the reasons "I Switched" several years ago....So guess what? I bought a copy of Windows XP, dl'ed BootCamp, dl the HP software for Windoze and the scanner works fine in WIN-XP....For the camera I didn't have to dl anythin else...It works fine with the "Windows Camera and Imaging Wizard."
Sorry for the rant, but this is ridiculous that after spending $$$$ for the MBP I had to buy Windows and have to boot into XP in order to use devices I used flawlessly for years. HP was quoted in MacWorld that all their stuff would work fine with the new macs...Not So...I dl'ed their "HP Image Zone" software marked specifically for intel-based macs to no avail.....
Did I miss something? Is their a fix (firmware, OS, anything!) out there or on the way?? Any Advice would be GREATLY appreciated....

Everything that you sync to the iPad is done through iTunes or from downloading from the cloud if they are iTunes purchases or through iTunes Match, if subscribed.
It is also not possible to transfer music or certain other files though Bluetooth between other iPhones or Android devices. You can transfer between iOS devices, pictures through devices that are Airdrop capable.

On a Mac running v10.7.2, the only way to reinstall Safari is to reinstall OS X using OS X Recovery.
Safari 5.1.1 is for Snow Leopard. It will not run on a Mac with v10.7 installed.

Try to see what happens on another computer. If it works on another computer, the issue is not at the iPhone.

Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the printer shutting down when attempting to connect to the wireless network.
A very important step that gets easily over looked is, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Once the printer is back on, please use the on/off button to do a proper shut down and restart. This will also do a semi power reset on the printer.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

USB 2.0. USB 3.0 is not yet supported in OS X. You can purchase USB 3.0 cards for Macs, but I don't know if they work in your slots. See www.caldigit.com, for example.

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

You need to talk to ADC or post to the developer forums under OS X Technologies. Make sure you downloaded the correct version.

Adding USB ports to mac pro

i was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to fit more usb ports in the back of the Mac Pro?
I got my mac pro about 4/5 years ago, and could really use some more ports.

I have a 2013 Buick Enclave with Pandora icon on the screen. I was told that to connect my iphone 5 with USB port and that worked. But as soon as I disconnected, Pandora went out on screen. Only works plugged in now. Should work without USB connected.

With my Samsung S3, Pandora automatically lit up and worked. with new iphone5, I was told I need to connect USB port to car and phone and start Pandora. That worked and the icon on screen lit up. but as soon as I removed the USB cord, Pandora and Stitcher greyed out and stopped working. I know it's supposed to work on the car's nav screen once I hardwire it (at least that's what I was told), but as soon as I disconnect, they stop working through the car. How can I install Pandora and Stitcher on my car WITHOUT having the usb cord attached? the idea is to be able to use the car's touch screen to control Pandora, but with the phone plugged into the USB port, I can only use the phone to control Pandora, which of course is dangerous when driving! And it worked correctly with the samsung, so I have to believe it can work with the iphone 5! Right? Thanks.

You cannot install the apps on the car.
The cars head unit is merely acting as an interface to the apps on the device.
If you want to use those apps in the car, plug the device in and leave it plugged in.
