What's up with "...waiting" for a download on iTunes?

I have three songs in the iTunes store that have the above message. They have been there several months. I go to the "purchased but not downloaded" link and it's empty. In fact, it's quite possible these are songs that I transferred from a purchased CD years ago. I think (think) this occurred right after I switched to iCloud for my backup. Thoughts?

It sounds like you have 3 downloads that seem to never get out of the Waiting stage. I would recommend starting by deleting the songs from your iTunes library, even if they are grayed out:

Open iTunes.
From the Library pop-up menu, choose Music.
Click Songs in the navigation bar.
Click the song you want to delete.
Press Delete on your keyboard.
In iTunes 11 or later, the album cover art will remain visible, but a Download icon will appear on it to allow you to download the item again (in countries that support this).
Note: If you didn't purchase a song from the iTunes Store, you can't download it again for free from iTunes in the Cloud. You might want to back it up somewhere on your computer.
Then go back to your purchased history in the iTunes Store and download them again:

I would be concerned too if the audiobook I purchased from iTunes was not downloading on my iPhone. I have a few suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.

If the audiobook still does not download, I recommend signing out and back into the iTunes Store on your iPhone:
Changing your Apple ID account
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores, then tap the Apple ID signed in.
Sign out of the current Apple ID account and then sign in with another account or create a new Apple ID.
The last step states to sign in with another account, but for the situation you described, I recommend just signing in with your same Apple ID.

Just what I have been waiting for.

I am no spreadsheet master (I have virtually no Excel experience) but there was a time that I could make the Appleworks do what I wanted. However, it has been a while since I found using tables in Pages was much better for charting the information I was producing.
I also know, as I have read through these discussions, that people are dismayed by the limits of Numbers, however, I think it's important to remember that Apple does listen to its customers. Furthermore, anyone remember iTunes 1.0? Since then it has become groundbreaking for music and entertainment. That said, I am confident the same thing will happen with Numbers. Just keep sending the feedback.
As for me, I think it will handle my needs just fine. I like the crisp look, I like being able to use different fonts and styles in a box, I like the check boxes . . . yet there is so much more for me to learn. It's just what I have been waiting for.

I think most of what you hear in here complaint wise is from professionals that access those 10% of functions that 90% of users never use.
Agreed. Unfortunately I work with some of those 10% functions when I bring work home from the office
Numbers is a fantastic effort for the majority of users and will undoubtedly improve. For those of us who used Appleworks where we could and went to Excel for PC compatibility and/or heavier lifting, we now can move work to Numbers.
In the meantime, those of us who use those 10% functions should provide official feedback to Apple using clear and professional language.

i don't know why it happens. but i know how frustrating it can be. the same thing happened to me. i posted a few inquiries in different apple forums and didn't get any ideas of how to fix it. i did however find a solution on my own.
i found that if i did a "restore my ipad" that it fixed it. i was hesitant at first because i was afraid of loosing valuable information. but much to my relief i didn't loose any thing. other than an hour of my time.
this seemed to fixed my problem of being stuck on "waiting for items to copy". my ipad now syncs both wired and wirelessly without any hang ups. however i would suggest that if you are syncing a large amount of data (movies for example) that you do it wired and not wirelessly. i found that it takes a lot longer to sync movies wirelessly.

Network Connection Timeout when "Chkng for available downloads" from iTunes

I have been struggling with this problem for weeks and have spent a significant amount of time trying to diagnose and fix without success.
When I select “Check for Available Downloads” through iTunes, I receive a “Network Connection Timeout” message and iTunes fails to download any information. It does ask me to validate my access with a password before it fails.
This problem initially occurred after I purchased the iTunes Plus updates for my music library. It backlogged about 70 updates that are now sitting in the queue to be downloaded to my local iTunes library. However, since I made that purchase, I have not successfully been able to do any downloads from the iTunes store. I suspect that the volume of items in the queue is related to the problem (as a trigger or the cause).
I have also tried to buy a single song. Although the purchase is successful (it charges my card and adds the song to the download queue), it doesn’t successfully download the song. I cannot, at this time, even get to a point where I can display a list of the queue for download. It always fails when trying to access that available download queue.
Podcast downloads still work fine through iTunes. I have never had problems with the store before and have done very large downloads (e.g. audio books) in the past. I have had no changes to my configuration leading up to this problem.
I am running a relatively new computer with a clean install of Windows 7, plenty of memory and very fast processors. I’ve got high capacity DSL. The connection is wired from the router into my network card (not wireless).
I have tried a number of things as noted below and the problem still occurs:
1. Confirmed access to internet, and ability to download from other web sites without timeout
2. Confirmed my ability to access the iTunes store, change my personal information, browse songs
3. Confirmed ability to download podcasts
4. Deactivated my windows firewall, antivirus and Net nanny content protection.
5. Deactivated the router firewall, and placed my PC in the DMZ of the router (which means that it should be wide open to the external network).
6. Swapped out the DSL modem for a different DSL modem and completely removed the router from the configuration.
7. Checked my drivers on the network card and made sure they are up to date.
8. Ran Windows 7 network diagnostics – no problems detected
9. Ran iTunes network diagnostics – no problems detected
10. Uninstalled all software related to iTunes and reinstalled most current versions (iTunes, Quicktime, Bonjur, etc.)
Thoughts?

What is meant by waiting for app store to download mac os x server add on.

Can't get past that step to upgrade xserver from 10.6.8 to 10.7. I am trying to upgrade my xserver 10.6.8 to 10.7. I have purchased the os x lion and the lion server, and they are both downloaded on the machine, but it will not let me get past the step of waiting for app store to download mac os x server add on. Anyone know what that is or where I can get it? App store never starts a download. tia

Ran into this myself on a new MacMini Server. I renamed the ServerVersion.plist file in /System/Library/CoreServices/. That allowed the install to start. Unfortunately it seems the installer is setup to install that at the same time. I renamed the file back before the restart and it complained on restart that the server install wasn't found.
So I thought I would try downloading it on another computer with Lion. That didn't work either. As soon as it finished download it installed and deleted the installer.
What a pain.
If you can start from scratch, you should be able to rename the file, do the Lion install then after the Lion install rename it back. Then do the server install. I'm not sure what that will do to existing server configs though. There must be some reason Apple set up the Lion installer this way.
Oh, now I can't reboot into my existing OS. It keeps rebooting into the installer. Tried the option key and both options are named something like base os. Neither boots my existing Snow Leopard. Gonna have to get an external DVD drive and install from scratch I think. Luckily this is a new server not in production, so not a big deal. I hope people with production machines read the boards and tread carefully.

What happens during the "Waiting for UDev uevents to be processed"?

I have arch installed on my laptop, working great, I really love it.
Only one thing bother me and I would like to solve it: at boot time, the system waits for about 15s on the stage "Waiting for UDev uevents to be processed".
Is it normal? What is it doing exactly during this stage: loading modules?
I try to see in my logs but I can't find anything related to this. How can I know if there is not some kind of issue which make him takes so long ? How can I improve this ?

Well, according to the man page and rc.sysinit, udevadm command in the rc.sysinit script does:
/sbin/udevadm settle
/sbin/udevadm control --property=STARTUP=
I assume this is the settle command which takes time.
But how can I list the uevents in the queue the udevadm settle command is waiting for ? If possible, with the delay of treatment of each of these uevents during the boot...
I have nothing related to this in my logs.
Regarding my hardware, I have one toshiba laptop P300-220 with two internal hard drives (and many partitions on them). But no external drive.

Problem with wait for event

Hi everyone,
I'm using wait for event step in my workflow of a custom event called zevent2.
I'm not using the event as a start event of the workflow.The event is getting triggered at a certain point of the workflow programmatically.
So for that what should be the entry in SWE2? I've maintained the following entry for zevent2 at swe2 tcode.
Object type: BUS2000126
Event: ZEVENT2
Receiver type:
Receiver function module: SWW_WI_CREATE_VIA_EVENT_IBF
In swel I'm finding out that event got triggerd but it is giving error "No Receiver Entered".
And the workflow is getting stuck at 'wait for step event'.
So can anybody please tell me what is the step am I missing? is the swe2 correct?

you have to specify RECIEVER TYPE without which you will be getting this error
goto SWE2 and give the value and your problem will be done

Streaming Failed with WAITING FOR A SUBSCRIBER TO BE ADDED

Our Environment
Oracle11g r2 Version 11.2.0.1.0
Linux RHEL 5.5 64bit
We had Setup and Configured the Oracle Bi-directional Streaming which is working successfully for week and yesterday for some reason we have reboot the
both the Locations Servers in same time and after the reboot Our Oracle streaming processes status is ok on both the end but we shown that
V$STREAMS_CAPTURE view shown the state something like "WAITING FOR A SUBSCRIBER TO BE ADDED".
We had tested and got that our streaming is not more working?
Please guide for resolved the problem?
Any suggestions and help is appreciated.

Unpublished bug 9115882 has been fixed on RDBMS release 12.1 and patchset 11.2.0.2.
So On wards 11.2.0.2.0. same issue is not longer happen.
We should go with 11.2.0.2.0. for resolved the issue.

File to Idoc with wait for 30 secs time

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement like, sending a file using MDM adapter to Idoc.
We need to process messgaes coming into ftp one by one to target system ECC with a time interval of 30 seconds.
After 1 msg is processed, wait for 30 seconds and next message have to process.
Please let us know any user defined function code for this.
