What's using data at 2 AM?

Something is using data every day at 2:06 AM or thereabouts.  How can I tell what app is doing that?
Sometimes is something trivial like 40 or 28.1 kb.  But sometimes it gets up to like 25,700 or 29,000 kb!

Don't look at your bill - that's not the time the data was used, it's the time it was printed on your statement.

  • How to determine what's using data store temp space?

How can one determine what's using data store temp space? We are interested to know what structures are occupying space in temp space and if possible what pid/process connected to TimesTen created them.
Also, is there a procedure that will work if temp space is full?
Recently one of our data stores ran of space. We we're unable to run commands like "monitor", "select * from monitor", "select count(*) from my_application_table", etc. These commands failed because they required temp space to run and temp space was full. We killed the application processes, this in turned freed up temp space, then we were able to run these queries.
Ideally, we'd like to have a procedure to figure out what's using temp space when temp space is full.
The other thing we could do is periodically monitor temp space prior to it filling to determine what's using temp space.

That was my original thought, but once you click the slider track or thumb, and then enter a value in the text control, the clickTarget on the change event envoked by the change to the bound data (after entering a value in the text control) will be whatever slider element had last been clicked. If you've never clicked the slider, clickTarget=null. But once you've clicked the slider the clickTarget always has a value of "thumb" or "track", regardless of what triggered the change event.

  • Leaving data roaming ON while abroad: what apps use data in the background?

As a quick preface, I've had an iPhone since Week 1 in the summer of 2007. I've been working outside the U.S. for well over a year now, so I've been roaming with my iPhone for almost the entire time I've owned it. I had kept data roaming turned OFF since the fall of '07, when a software update brought it as an option, but visual voicemail continued to work as always even when data roaming was OFF (under software versions 1.x).
After hearing about the early bugs with iPhone software v2.0, I stuck with the last version of 1.x until about a month ago. While I like almost everything about 2.2, I was dismayed to notice that visual voicemail no longer worked if data roaming was turned OFF. (Apparently, the visual voicemail "loophole," for lack of a better phrase, was closed with 2.0 or a subsequent version of the software.)
This has left me facing a conundrum: Turning data roaming ON might leave me susceptible to a big data roaming bill, while leaving it OFF leaves me in the dark as far as the existence and Caller ID of new voicemail(s).
QUESTION: Does anyone know of the DEFINITIVE list of which iPhone apps use data roaming in the background? That is, if I leave data roaming ON but NEVER use the email app or Safari or YouTube or any other app that accesses the internet and would incur data charges (or, at least, never use any of those apps unless connected to a WiFi network), which apps will use data in the background anyway, WITHOUT me actually launching the app?
Back in the 1.x versions, I'm not aware of any apps that used data unless the user actually launched an app, but I've noticed that, under 2.2, Apple's App Store app routinely connects to the internet on its own to check for updates if I have data roaming enabled. (I'd like to turn this OFF, but doing so doesn't appear to be an option.)
I'm hoping App Store is the only app that has this (bad) behavior, and that I'd be safe leaving data roaming ON while consciously avoiding using data over the EDGE network, but I have no idea if apps like Stocks, YouTube, Weather, etc., have been updated, in 2.x or even 2.2, to check for updates in the background, and thus run up data roaming charges.
If anyone can shed any light on this, it would be much appreciated. Thanks very much.

The iPhone is officially unlocked and can be used with whatever provider/SIM card.
But imagine, we are a team of around 20 people, travelling to all kind of different countries all over the world (changing, not the same person is always travelling to the same countries), and of course (I didn't mention this in my first post), we also have to stay in contact by phone. In addition, also whatsapp is based on the phone number as far as I know, which is our main "quick" communication tool. It would never work out that all of us inform the others all the time about the changing phone numbers, depending on which country each individual is at the moment.
Your answer unfortunately just confirmed what my researches so far resulted in... there really seems to be no apple-like easy solution to manage data roaming for apps individually. In the beginning I was sure to quickly find something in the appstore, since I assume my situation is not such an exception. I guess I have to start learning how to program apps! :-)
Anyway, thanks for your answer! As I mentioned before, every idea is appreciated.

What is an ageing report? What are the data sources used to develop an aging report
Aging refers to values in different time period ranges. Example, the customer (credit) aging report can look like this.
customer (credit)  for current period, 0 to 30 days, 30 to 90 days, 90 to 120 days. This is the way aging is classified.
What data sources does one use to get Balance sheet and P&L accounts tables and fields.
For P&L information, you may use 0FI_GL_6 datasource (or 0FI_GL_10 if you use ERP 5.0 version). This datasource reads the same information used in R/3 transaction f.01 (table glt0).
What are the tasks a BW consultant normally performs when he is involved in an end to end implementation project or a full life cycle project?
Requirement gathering, blueprint creation, development etc

Design document is basically a document to say  how the design is to be developed for a particular solution ex: FI it says what is the data fow and what are the data targets  to be used and how data shld be stored  for providing the client a solution they need.
    Is cube a data target?
Yes cube is a data target.

  • What is the benefit of Using Data Adaptor

    Hello
I wonder that What is the benefit of Using Data Adaptor ? I don't know TopLink Technology , inorder to using Data Adaptor I should know toplink but what is the advatages of using BPEL database adaptors in conditions thet I can make webservices by making plsql web services or exposing ADF application modules more easier?
I think that if I use Data Adaptor (based of Toplink) I can use JTA feature for transaction managment , am I thinking Correct?
for example I can invoke to webservice A and the B in BPEL process with two DB adaptores (by global transaction ) such that if A failes the process automatically roles back the B transaction without need that I manauly compensate the undo process
    please help me ?

Thank you for your very useful comments about DB adapter
I tried again and I have Successfully deploy and test my DB adapter with using # for parameter.
But I have another question : We have ADF Application that using ADF bc for user data entry supporting in use case scenario , but we want to call web services (eg BPEL) in save operation instead of ADF application modules Normal commit !
If we want using Data adapter for persist the Data that user entered by UI , we must write a lot of Insert or Update statements in DB adapter because of lot of database entities.
How can we shorten this production scenario in our Project?

  • What are the 'gotcha' for exporting using Data Pump(10205) from HPUX to Win

    Hello,
I have to export a schema using data pump from 10205 on HPUX 64bit to Windows 64bit same 10205 version database. What are the 'gotcha' can I expect from doing this? I mean export data pump is cross platform so this sounds straight forward. But are there issues I might face from export data pump on HPUX platform and then import data dump on to Windows 2008 platform same database version 10205? Thank you in advance.

On the HPUX database, run this statement and look for the value for NLS_CHARACTERSET
    SQL> select * from NLS_DATABASE_PARAMETERS;http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/statviews_4218.htm#sthref2018
When creating the database on Windows, you have two options - manually create the database or use DBCA. If you plan to create the database manually, specify the database characterset in the CREATE DATABASE statement - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_5004.htm#SQLRF01204
If using DBCA, see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14196/install.htm#ADMQS0021 (especially http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14196/install.htm#BABJBDIF)

  • What is using my cellular data?

iPad 2, freshly reset, recently updated to iOS 6.1. The only installed app is Skype, which is set to go offline after 60 min. Location services are disabled, cellular data for Appstore ist also disabled.
I now had the iPad lying around for two days and according to my cell bill on both days around 3 am it used the internet, yesterday 15 kB, the day before 140 kB. This is a problem because in my cellular data plan any day where I use cellular data, I have to pay 2,50 €.
I know that I can disable cellular data completely, but I would rather have the iPad just don't use it when it's off (for more than an hour, when Skype shut down).
What can also cause this traffic?
Or are there any apps to block all applications from using cellular data except Safari and Skype?

If the phone is asleep and not connected to an external power source, it will use the cellular data connection for mail, push notifications, etc. This is by design. To keep the WiFi radio on with no external power source connected would drastically reduce battery life. Of course, it appears Safari and App Store are using WiFi, because they can only be used interactively... Mail will use WiFi as well IF the phone is not asleep and is connected to a WiFi network.
If you turn cellular data off, the phone will power up the WiFi radio to poll the mail server since there is no other option.
You can set mail to retrieve message manually instead of using push or polling. This will ensure that pulling down your mail can only be initiated by you, and if you make sure you have a live WiFi connection before doing so, it shouldn't be a problem.
Since you've seen a sharp increase in the last month, I'm assuming you're either getting much more mail than you had been previously, or you've been getting more 'large' messages or both.
I don't know what kind of data usage you're used to seeing or what you consider a sharp increase. Is it pushing you over your cap?

  • How do I determine what is using the data on my iphone 5c?

In looking at our bill we have one person that is using almost triple the amount of data that the other users are, and we need to figure out exactly what it is that is eating all of the data on his phone as he doesn't have any clue what it could be. Any help to determine what is using the data on an iphone 5c?

emilyki, look no further. We can help you look into this data usage issue. First of all, we recommend that you disable data for a few applications on that iPhone 5C device to ensure that the applications are not depleting data from your allowance when not in use. You can do this by tapping Settings>Cellular>Scroll down to all the downloaded applications and disable data for applications.
Additionally, you also have the option of disabling data in Settings>Cellular when you're not using data or connected to Wi-Fi.
Lastly, you may view the data usage sessions for that line online at My Verizon to determine when data is used the most. http://bit.ly/xB4iTc Keep us posted.

  • What exactly is using data and how can i keep it from using data when im not using my phone?

So i have an iphone 4 and i have used a lot of data this month(like almost 2GB) and i have barely touched my phone outside of wifi areas. I always shut down any apps that use data like youtube, funnypics, facebook, etc. but i do play some games during my breaks at work but they dont require data to play so to my knowledge those games arent using data(or are they?) i just need some help figuring out exactly what on my phone is using data all the time so i can turn it off. Is it icloud? Emails on auto update? Offline game apps(minecraft, sonic dash, the Mr. Series games?) Do all apps use data regardless? Somebody please answer me. And No im not buying a bigger data plan. 2GB is my limit but it seems as though i am hitting that easily with my iphone but the rest of my familyis usually miles away from 2GB and they all have Samsung Galaxy S4s.

My first stop would be in Settings > Cellular if you are on iOS 7.  This has a lot of goodstuff. you can turn off cellular data as a who, see your current usage and even see which apps have used data and how much.  You can even turn off individual apps form using cellular data (restricting them to wifi only).
    I hope this helps!

  • What is the data throughput in labview. I want to use the parallel as acheap digital i/o to drive a stepper motor.

I am trying to use the parallel port on a win xp machine to send data a@ up to a 3k rate. This is for the the purpose of driving a stepper motor. I have tried the port.out vi and placed this vi in a loop and it on a scope it looks like I am limited to a a 200hz rate. What am I doing wrong??? Can labview do this or is it too slow ???
    Thanks

Basically the way the Port I/O VIs are implemented they call through a
device driver for each port access. This slows down the maximum port
accesses to something like 1000 times per second depending on the speed
    of your CPU.
There is a way to do it faster but that is a little more trick
    y. The
idea is to use a device driver to enable particular port addresses to be
accessed directly from the application level instead of always going
    through the kernel.
I have written such a VI library and accompagning DLL and device driver
and made it available on OpenG. It is not yet part of the standard
binary distribution packets so you will have to get it from the CVS
    repository.
    Go to:
    http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/opengtoolkit/portIO/built/portio/
and download all the files in there including the ones in the
subdirectory "ogportio.llb" and if you like "docs"
If you want the nitty gritty technical details you can also look at
    http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/*checkout*/opengtoolkit/portIO/c_source/Description.htm?rev=1.5
On my 866 MHz Pentium mobile I can increase the number of port accesses
in this way from 440 ms for 4000 read byte port accesses (100us ms per
access) to 20 ms for the same number of read accesses (5 us per access).

  • How can i find out what app is using data at 5am

i have used an unusual amount of data this month.  something on my phone is using data at 5am every morning.  its not me.  how can i find out what it is?

The times reported for data usage on your bill do not necessarily reflect the time the data was actually used. The system gathers information from the cell sites and reports on a schedule.

  • How do i figure it out what app use the cellular data in standby mode?

How do i figure it out what app use the cellular data in standby mode? I disabled the cellular data for 3 days, and my battery last longer. I don't use push notifications, neither location services. I'm not signed in in skype or any IM app.

Do you use push email?  Do you have accounts that have synchronized calendars associated with them?  Those features will still use cellular data in the background as the receive mail and send or receive calendar updates.
Some notifications, like push notifications from Facebook and other social networking sites may use cellular data in the background.  Basically, any automated data task like those may use cellular data when the phone is in standby (note that wifi would be used if available when the phone is active, but wifi turns off in standby and all data goes through the cellular data connection).
