What's with the battery life on this thing?

Okay...I've had my Mini for 18 months. Just yesterday...I charged it at work. Work day ends. I pop in the ear buds...turn it on (fully charged)...and the "low battery" message immediately flashes. I look at the battery "meter" and right before my eyes it goes from "full"...to "empty".
Then the thing shuts off! Tried it again today...and after several repeats...I finally got the thing to play (so far two songs...we'll see).
I can deal with the limited battery life...but the NO battery life thing...well...that's a problem.
Anybody else have this problem?...hear about this?...is there a battery/program flaw in the Mini?

Bought a new iPhone 4s and dissapointed with the battery life (5.0.1)

Hi guys, I'm new to this forums and to an iPhone... I've bought my first iPhone 2 days ago (an iPhone 4s) and I must admit, the battery life simply *****! It's unbeliavable, typing a status and checking facebook drains 2% of my battery, this is just insane. I was glad to find out that I'm not the only one with this problem. I researched online and saw all of Apple customers complaint about it, and realised that Apple didn't really care as much until the media kicked in.
So yesterday I've downloaded the new 5.0.1 update, because Apple promised to fix the battery life issue, however I found no sing of battery improvement what so ever (my Location Services and Time Zone are both set to OFF). I think they've released this update in order to shut us up for a little bit, because Apple knows that it's not a bug BUT a hardware problem!
I hope Apple can come up with an idea to fix this problem a.s.a.p. or they're going to lose a lot of customers. I'm starting to slowly regret from not buying phones like BlackBerry 9900 Bold, Samsung Galaxy S2 or the new HTC. I'm so dissapointed in the battery life...

Mine is better. You will find thousands of discussions about battery life with every version and every upgrade and between upgrades over the past 7 years. Nothing is different with iOS 7. Rather than me repeating what must have been said tens of thousands of times for this and every other version try searching the forum for answers. Start with "More Like This" to the right.

I'm not having any problems with IOS7 on my Iphone 5.
I think it's a lot to do with the settings you have turned on. One big draw is the Background App Refresh.

The battery sometimes goes up and the goes down
Example:
The battery is on 86% then it lowers down to 80% and then goes back to 84%

I am currently running iOS 5 on my iphone 4S, is there any issue with the battery life if I update my phone software to iOS 6?

Until the issue with iTunes recognizing the device is resolved, there is no way to update it.

Iphone3g is frozen on the screen with the battery life showing it full but it has the wrong time. I tried holding the button to turn it off and it didn't do anything. I plugged it in to the wall and it recognized it was plugged in but it's still frozen.

Every now and then it beeps like it's just been plugged in. I updated it this afternoon and it had been running fine.

The batery life mainly depends on the 6 cell lithium or 9 cell and 12 cell and they mainly depends on the Notebook.Some of the Notebooks are compatible and some or not compatible,. HT201401 Can anyone confirm that 12 hours of low to moderate use is acceptable battery life for an Iphone 5. That is all I am getting. I am using the phone less than I have used any Iphone I have ever had. The battery life between charges is less than hal

I am very disappointed with the battery life I am getting out of my Iphone 5S 64G. I charge it every night, and would be lucky to make 15 to 20 minutes of calls during the day and yet I am lucky to get much more than 12 hours of life out of the battery.
I have to make a conscious decision not to use it to avoid it running out on me. I had it back to the Apple Store last week and they ran diagnostic checks on ot and said that the hardware was within specs.
They replaced the software as it was showing that Springboard had crashed on several occasions. The other problem I was complaining about was that at least 2 or 3 times a day, the phone would refuse to wake up when I hit the home button. It would take sometimes up to a minute of pressing the button before anything would light up. The guy at the Apple store said that this was caused by Springboard crashing and that this would also be what is reducing the battery life.
I did notice that after they replaced the software, the waking up problem appeared fixed for a few days, but the battery life had not improved. Now the waking up problem is starting to return.
It is very annoying and somewhat embarrassing when you are with a client and go to make a call and your shiny flashy new Iphone 5 won't even light up. Especially when you have to borrow your clients Nokia....

My best bet would be to restore the phone. Back it up to itunes, and then reset it Factory settings. This way, any corrupt software will be removed, and you can start fresh. Make sure you back it up first. By the sounds of it, you are using the phone for business and probably need the data from it. Hope this helps!

IPhone 5 what happened to the battery!

Took my iPhone to the apple store as I was having an issue with the mic it was intermittently not picking up so they said the only thing they could do for now is put iOS 7 on my phone I have been holding back for weeks I really don't like the look of it but thought if it solves the issue then I will have to get over it, I use my iPhone as my satnav as well and when I went to the store I had around 85% plenty to do what I needed to do and get me home again with around 50% left is the usual for the length of drive however after driving home again It suddenly went down to 10% what happened to the battery life?? I can't walk around with a generator in my pocket to keep it charged I then made my usual phone call at night which lasted 2 1/2 hours and normally I would be looking around using 30% tonight I used almost 80%!

recalibrate the battery, let it completely drain out to where the phone shuts off and then fully charge it without using it.

What is wrong with my phone if the battery life is draining while the phone is in the lock position?

Last night my phone just started getting extremely dim and I had it on the brightest setting. It was so dim you had to look at it under a light just to see what was on the screen. It then proceeded to lock down. I plugged it in but it would not charge. Finally, after almost an hour of being plugged in it finally started charging. It is acting completely normal except that it is constantly warm and the battery life keeps draining even when it is not in use. Does anyone know what is wrong with it? Can it be fixed? Normally, how much would this cost me? Your help would be greatly appreciated!!

Why is my battery life so bad on my iphone 4s. I signed up for a 2 yr contract with a new iphone 4s. The battery life didn't last a day. I went back to Apple and they replaced it with another iphone 4s. This one is just as bad. The iOS 5.0.1 does nothing!

I have never been so disappointed with an Apple Product such as the Iphone 4s. When I signed up with a new 2 year contract, I received my iphone 4s. I charged it fully the night before, then it didn't even last the day (with minimal usage). I turned off Location Services, Wi Fi, and Bluetooth, this helped a bit. But what is the point of turning these services off, when I NEED THEM!!! The wonderful new Siri doesn't work properly without Location Services turned on.
So I upgraded to the iOS 5.0.1. version - that did absolutely nothing to assist the battery life.
Apple, what are you going to do about it? My new Apple phone is a LEMON!
If I had of known how bad the battery life is on the iphone 4s, I would have got a Samsung Galaxy 2!!!!!

It doesn't really matter whether I am talking to Apple or not (and I'm sure they monitor these comments), I want everyone to know how bad this new iphone 4s is, and all of it's problems.
Apple have already launched an upgrade to the software - it obviously did not help, as many around the world would concur.
As far as being patient and waiting for another "update in the works" is concerned, it is just not satisfactory. This is not a cheap phone, and those who are experiencing these problems, should not have to be paying a substantial amount of money, for a very smart phone, that obviously, has some serious problems.
