What's with the number in a red circle above the Facetime icon in the dock?
What's with the number in a red circle above the FaceTime icon? How do I get rid of it?
I'm interested in this too, kongakut2012. I can't see an envelope either. I discovered that the number probably meant that I had a missed call, but when I cleared all recent calls (including the missed one) the number didn't go away. So -- where's the envelope, please???

Is it possible to use NUMCHARS to display the number of characters in a block of text instead of the whole document? How?
Getting the character count for a paragraph is trivial:
Sub NumChars1()

Even outputting it to the document is trivial:
Sub NumChars2()
With Selection.Paragraphs(1)
.Range.InsertAfter .Range.Characters.Count
End With
End Sub
The real issue comes when you want to update the document. If the destination paragraph is only ever empty or contains the character count of the previous paragraph, you could use:
Sub NumChars3()
With Selection.Paragraphs(1)
.Next.Range.Text = .Range.Characters.Count & vbCr
End With
End Sub

If you can't access the App Store from the Apple menu, Dock, or Applications folder installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo will reinstall the App Store for you.
It's ok to do this even you are already running v10.6.8.

FYI: Some third party software can cause issues with the App Store > Mac App Store: Sign in sheet does not appear, or does not accept typed text

You need to use WCF-Custom adapter and add the ServiceThrottlingBehavior service behavior to a WCF-Custom Locations.
ServiceThrottlingBehavior.MaxConcurrentCalls - Gets or sets a value that specifies the maximum number of messages actively processing across a ServiceHost. The MaxConcurrentCalls property specifies the maximum number of messages actively
processing across a ServiceHost object. Each channel can have one pending message that does not count against the value of MaxConcurrentCalls until WCF begins to process it.

Go up to the "View" menu, and pull down the "Columns" and "Sort by" menu options. Do you see what you want there? When you say "Address" do you mean "From?"

Hello, I have had to restore my iphone 4 to its factory setting as I had missed a number of updates and my computer was not recognising the device. I have now lost my contacts icon on the iphone and cannot find it even after syncing to my computer.

It's a pre-installed app and therefore cannot be deleted so you may have inadvertently moved it onto a screen or into a folder, check the utilities folder as this is a common one for it to disappear into. Check all screens and folders and do a search in Spotlight, it will tell you if the app it still on your iPhone but unfortunately not where it is. If you find it on one or your screens or in a folder, press the icon until it wiggles and then drag it back to where you want it. Alternatively you can reset your home screen in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. -
i recently moved all of my photos from one portable drive to a new and much larger one. I use LR 5 and and all of the folders now have a ? in their folder icon. The thumbnail is there but no actual photo. How do i reconnect them?

- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them. Thus it appears that yor sone purchased the app.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account. -

An iPod can only sync with one iTunes library. The iPod sees the rebuilt computer as a new iTunes library. To make this computer the syncing computer
- Transfer iTunes purchases:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music. -

First the bad news...Apple has shut it down. The number still works, but you won't be able to Facetime with any Apple reps.

If you are unable to get the iPod into Disk Mode to restore it and instead get the red X symbol, it's a very good indication of a damaged hard drive inside of your iPod. This means you'll need to take or send your iPod in for repair or replacement.
