Hey there,
I knew that SCOM can monitor services, applications, network devices, and so on.
Is there any documents or links give me information about more details what SCOM2012 R2 can monitor?
Need to show information to bosses!!!

Im just wondering what you can close down in the activity monitor without messing something up.

Basically, only the items which appear in the Dock. Quitting unfamiliar processes should only be done as a troubleshooting step and when instructed.

"recording what i can hear" in logic ??

Hi, i want to record what my computer is playing for sampling purposes. I can do this type of thing in sony acid it gives you a "record what you can hear" option but im quite new to logic 8 so im not sure if i can do that?!?!?

So I've read most of the getting started thing and it tells you all kinds of things about editing songs etc...but it doesn't seem to say anything about not being able to monitor the sounds yo are recording. Example when I click the record button and have a track record enables it shows the information being drawn on the arrange region area but I can't hear the notes I am writing with the keyboard while i am recording nor playing it back...but..I can hear the click track which tells me the monitors are recognizing the data sent from logic to the interface..so the underlining problem is basically how can I get the sound that is being written through my monitors? Did I assign something wrong in the start up assistant or what?

what you are asking is a 2 edge sword and could be used by ex partners and stalkers alike
there are special parent spyphones which offer what you want and where you can also track your kid using gps and the likes try googling it

Hello Zaheer ,
I would always recommend to check that you have the latest transport tools, tp and R3trans in use in the system to avoid import errors.
Check with
tp -v
R3trans -v
if either are more than around 4 months old, I would strongly recommend to download the latest for your release from the SAP service marketplace. This avoids needlesly encountering issues that have been resolved in more recent patch lebels of these tools.
During the import, it is important to check the contents of the directories
usr/sap/trans/tmp
and
usr/sap/trans/log
that they are being continously updated which shows import is progressing.
Most important, keep checking the latest entries in the alog, uloag and slog to see which phases and trasnports are currently being imported.
If a transport fails, check these logs and the latest ones updated in usr/sap/trans/log for further details on the failure.
If there is an error please NEVER manual run any commands wihtout contacting SAP and having them analyse the issue.
When opening a message, be sure to include the latest alog, ulog and slog, along with the last few files most recently updated in usr/sap/trans/log and if possibel open an R3 connection to the import system.

What Services Can You Disable Safely?

I know OS X handles memory more efficiently than Windows, but I'd still like to disable or delay start of some services to improve boot time or performance in general.
Is there a list anywhere of what services/startup items it is safe to disable?

If I remember correctly, it does NOT include a lot of client monitoring but I could be wrong. It might take some custom monitor creation or management pack downloads to get exactly what you're wanting. If I can find something like that

A good rule of thumb that I live by with SCOM, in case the product is new to you, is to save all your changes and customizations to the SCCM management pack in a custom-created management pack.

It sounds like your iTunes Store page does not load and instead gives you an error code. I found this error code in an article that will be helpful for you named:

How do I record what I can hear?

I use Cowmon Media to record what I can hear on my Dell Inspiron laptop. Purchased a Toshiba Sattelite and tried to do the same thing. It will not work. All I see for recording devices is my microphone. How do I set up my TS to record what I can hear?

There are many ways to record drums depending on what the final goal is and more important budget. You can start with one or two carefully placed mics to a mic on every drum and many will even add in some midi triggers.
If you have a Apogee One you could just use the built in mic and try experimenting with placement.
And you are going to want a set of headphones to monitor the playback not a speaker. A set of speakers and a open mic will feedback.

What is a monitor with respect to threads?A monitor is something that each Object has (like a hat). If a piece of code is within a block synchronized over that Object, then any Thread, in order to execute the code, must first obtain that Object's monitor (wear its hat). Only one Thread can be wearing the hat at any one time. Whilst one Thread has the hat, other threads that wish to execute the code must wait until the first Thread has finished, whereupon it will throw the hat into the air.
Object.notify() throws IllegalMonitorStateException
What is this exception? and what does it mean?In order to either wait() on an Object, or notify()/notifyAll(), you must have previously obtained that object's monitor. ie. Object.wait() must be executed within an synchronized(Object) { } block. If you attempt to wait on an Object whose monitor you do not have, then that monitor will be in an "Illegal" state for the operation you are performing.

StorADE - what does it monitor

Hi
I was trying to find the information what StorADE software can monitor. I found installation guides, general guidelines but not, lets say a table, with all possible events it can monitor. I am looking for something like this:
StorADE can monitor and detect:
1) controller failur
2) disk failure
3) FC channel problem
4) FC channel errors, retries etc
The documentation in this area is ... deficient.
Has anybody of you, great admins, came across such document?

Storade is a wonderful product. I swear by it. At least 2.4 that is. Previous versions may had have more bells and whistles but I like the current version.
It is primarily for Sun Storage so do get your hopes up high with your HDS/EMC/HP systems. It monitors switches via SNMP walks and will let you know some good things depending on what your switch is. Pity it does not work with Cisco SAN switches.

If you have lots of SAN attached systems, it is sometimes worthwhile putting Storade on each system as it gives some really interesting information about the fabrics. The Storade GUI will present all that information in a java applet that is great for determining your network.
It gets a bit carried away with large numbers of SAN devices. Between the Switch snmpwalks, the 3000 sccli walks, the http gets on the T3s and looking after itself, some of the information can get a bit late. I cant tell you the optimal number of master hosts to use but probably keep it down to 50 or so and use slaves if you can.
I rate Storade 2.4 as one of the best free programs that Sun has ever produced.
So to answer your original question. It will do almost everything that you need to know about your Sun storage. Crappy 3510 controller failures and failed disks are its speciaility. HBA failures on the actual Storade hosts will raise alarms as it scans the /var/adm/messags file among other things. It will let you know your 3510 battery is about to expire but it wont tell you your T3 battery is older than its two years. If you use Sun switches, it will let you know ports have gone offline, error count warnings, retry warnings, lip resets (perhaps). It does not do everything but it will give you enough rope to hang yourself.
Some information is not exactly worth the effort but you will learn to love it and rely very heavily on it in any sized environment.
Lets put it this way, I can do a better job looking after a Sun host )with FC disks and SAMFS - Sun switch - Sun 3510 with Storade than anything else on the market that is free.
