What script to run after installation

Hi gurus,
I 'v just installed 11.5.5 "prod". Is there any script to run or i can start my implementation straight off.

You must complete the following tasks to successfully install Oracle Applications 11.5.5:
- Check the installation manual to complete the post installation steps
- Read the Known Product Issues section of these release notes and determine when to take the actions listed there
- Read the Installation Update Notes for your platform
- Follow the instructions in Installing Oracle Applications to complete your installation of Oracle Applications Release 11i
- Use AutoPatch to apply AD mini-pack F
Note: You may be required to apply AD mini-packs as a part of your Oracle Applications installation, even after you have completed your implementation.
Oracle Applications databases included in Rapid Install 11.5.5 have invalid objects in both the fresh-install production database and the Vision Demo database. You can safely ignore these errors.

Olap script is missing after installation

Hello all,
We have Oracle 9.2.0.6 Enterprise Edition running on our Solaris8 server. Through our developers' request, I have installed 9.2.0.1 OLAP option on the database by choosing the Custom installation option and "Oracle OLAP" checkbox. After the installation, I patched it to 9.2.0.6 . However, I cannot find the "olap" script in its place, which is supposed to reside in /etc/init.d . Therefore cannot start the environment and so on.
I have also read the Metalink note 208335.1 but don't think I have done anything much different than it.
What might be wrong with the installation, has anyone ever experienced anything similar?

After performing the above, you will need to run the olap.sql script
while connected as SYSDBA, from SQL*plus :
1) First go to the olap/admin directory under the Oracle Home

2) Run SQL*Plus and connect as sysdba:
sqlplus /nolog
SQLPLUS> connect / as sysdba
3) Run the oneinstl.sql and olap.sql scripts:

Scripts for run after creating database

HI,
now when 10xe universal installer create database with unicode characterset we are all unabled to run Form6i (forms 6i does not support AL32UTF8) on xe.
I would like to try to create database using EE8MSWIN1250 but I am not sure what scripts I have to run after create database on windows XP professional OS.
Is there any list ?
What else I have to check or run after creating database ?

I execute that scripts and it's look like that everything working well except that I can't access Database Home Page.
Any sugestion what I should look for.

What is wrong ?

I'm not sure that I completely understand what your issue is. Are you
trying to launch a BAT-file after the installation of an application?
In that case, I will recommend you to refer to the following

If the methods in this KB doesn't work, please let me know.

Photoshop cs 4 wont run after installation on mac book pro

I recently brought the adobe design premium package with flash, illustrator, indesign, photoshop etc...
after installation all other application works but just photoshop, it just wont start at all...
it will pop up on the deck for a second or two and just disappear. the progra wont run at all. other applications like illustrator, indesign etc... all work just fine but just not photoshop... i dont get it what's wrong. no error or anything. just pop up and then disappear.
the spec of my macbook pro
mac osx 10.6.2
2.53 ghz intel core 2 duo
4 gb 1067 mhz ddr3

So have you done the basics?
Toss the PS folder and run the installer again?
Run the updater from an app you can open? (this will update all)
etc...

LV 8.5.1 Installer "run after installation" not executed in silent mode ; Autoupdate

Hi all,
I developed a software used "inhouse" by most of my colleagues. This software is changed continuously.
In the past I had to inform everyone that there's a new release available.
Thus I developed a "quick and dirty" autoupdate mechanism. (See attachments)
The application looks for a file located on our server, which contains the version number of the most current release.
If the version number of the installed software and the version number in this file differ, the Installer for the new release is executed.
In the Installer settings I run the installed software after installation finished.
So that the user doesn't notice there was an update and the software starts as allways.
The installer is started with commandline options to install in silent mode with surpressed License Notification und supressed restart.
The start of the installed software after installation works if I start setup.exe in "normal" manner (doubleclick setup.exe)
BUT the software DOES NOT start after installation when installed in silent mode. (Commandline prompt: setup.exe /q /AcceptLicenses yes /r:n )
(Tested with XP, Vista, 7)
Does anyone know how to get this working ?

Well, just checked - it seems to be works as expected in LabVIEW 2010 and doesn't work with 8.5.1 as you have described.
There are some bugs in installer's builder was fixed between versions 8.5 and 10.0.
What you can do - upgrade to latest LabVIEW version or try to fix installer manually. I guess trouble present in \bin\dp\install.msi file. You can check what inside of msi with Orcas utility provided by Microsoft.

Trying to find pl/sql that will show you what script is running

I'm looking for a way, inside sql, to find the name of an executing/running script from inside the script itself.
For example, I have a master script called run.sql with these contents:
@@a.sql
@@b.sql
exit
A.sql has these contents:
spool a.log
select ora_database_name from dual;
spool off;
B.sql has these contents:
spool b.log
select sys_context('userenv','current_schema') from dual;
spool off;
Is there a way in A.sql and B.sql to (dynamically) find out the name of the script? E.g.
A.sql:
select script_name into script from dual;
spool script.log
Where "script_name" is the actual code or variable or whatever to find out what the script is called.
Some variables such as database_name, current_schema, etc can be found dynamically (on-the-fly), but is there a way to do this with the script that's running (short of hunting from v$session and trimming the sql_text, or hard-coding the name in the spool command)?
Also, if you're in sqlplus and you "get a.sql" (into the buffer) then you can save or list, or whatever, and it implicitly knows what script you're referring to. Is this value stored in some sort of variable anywhere?
This sort of thing is easy to do in unix shell commands, but is there a way to do this in Oracle?

The only way to do that is to write better SQL. For example:
echo off
INSERT /* script name = myinserts.sql */ INTO t1 SELECT * FROM t2;
SELECT /* script executing is myscript.sql */ col1, col2, col3
FROM mytable;with labelled statements.
Then you can find the answer by looking in numerous places in the dynamic performance views such as V$SQL.
Another technique is to use calls to DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO.SET_MODULE, SET_ACTION, and SET_CLIENTINFO to poke the information into V$SESSION

Binaries don't run after installation of 8.1.7 on AIX 5.1

I'm new in installations over Unix systems and I'm experiencing an issue that you all should know how to solve this. After the installation procedures, I'm trying to run SVRMGRL or SQLPLUS, but I can't, it keeps giving me this error messages:

0509-130 Symbol resolution failed for sqlplus because:
0509-136 Symbol pw_post (number 273) is not exported from

My product is Oracle 8.1.7 32bits, and my AIX is 5.1 64bits, but I've heard that it works anyway!

John, I've runned this script as root. Then executed as oracle the runInstaller script. Today I've also acquired the 64bit version of the 8.1.7. The problem persists the same. So I'm presuming that there's nothing wrong in installing a 32bit oracle product over a 64bit AIX system. Right now I'm stopped at the installation process, waiting for an assistance. I've activated the 64bit mode on AIX 5.1, and started the installation again. I'm having a lot of error messages about some "makefile" at the ins_rdbms.mk script file. Don't know what to do!

InDesign CS4 don't run after installation

Before installation of InDesign CS4, InDesign CS, InCopy CS3 and Bridge CS3 runs normally.
After installed, InDesign CS4 don't run, and crashes (during 'Initialising application") with this log:

After months of numerous attempts and frustration, I applied Microsoft KB958869 and... InDesign CS4 now runs fine. And I'm starting a new life after two decades working happily with PageMaker.

What script to run to get sca_deployComposite

I am getting sca_deployComposite name error when trying to deploy SOA composite.
Could someone please tell me how how to get rid of this, should I run another shell script to for deployment? If yes what is the name of that script?

ITunes 10.1.1 for Windows (64-bit) Does Not Run After Installation

I recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 and downloaded the 64-bit installer (iTunes64Setup). Although I recieve the notice that it was installed, when I start it up, I receive the "iTunes Library.itl cannot be read..." error message whenever I try to start it.
I have uninstalled the program, deleted the original setup file (iTunes64Setup), downloaded it again and re-installed it twice with no success.
Is there something I am doing wrong? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Finally got it installed and running.

Air wont run after installation

I am using Vista. I downloaded air and then installed it from the adobe site with no probelms, but everytime i go to open it, it says something like the installation was corrupted. so i tried uninstalling then installing again and even just reinstalling, but i still get this error when i go to run it. Please help me.

What do I do after installation? [SOLVED]

I am a complete Arch Linux noob. I am not a complete noob to linux, however. I have successfully installed Arch, but don't know what to do after I reboot. It takes me to a terminal. How do I set up/get to a gui? Also, the Grub Bootloader doesn't give me an option to boot into Windows. Is there a way to fix this? Sorry if I sound like a complete idiot.

Desktop Manager will not run after installation

I have recently reinstalled Windows XP on my PC, so I am trying to get the Desktop Manager software back on to my computer. I have tried installing several times from the original software disk (version 4.2, I think) and have also tried downloading from the Blackberry website and from cnet, and even from the TMobile website. Each time I try, everything seems to install just fine, but when I try to open the desktop manager it does nothing, it's just a blank window that eventually just closes. When I try to open the Device Manager, I get an error message that says "This application has failed to start because libBBLaunchAgent.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." So I have tried re-installing over and over and every time I get the same result, no matter if I download from the disk or from any website. I have tried to search my computer for the .dll file but there are no results, even in hidden folders. I have done a google search of the .dll file and nothing comes up so I am completely lost and clueless. I have never had trouble installing this software on my PC, it just won't install since I have re-installed Windows. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I'd greatly appreciate it, thanks!

Try using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to see if it helps out. Can read up on that and other things to try when Windows Installer gives errors from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555175

ITunes 7.6 won't run after installation, then won't reinstall

Upgraded to 7.6 and when I tried to run it, received message that files were missing and that I should re-download. So I went to downloads, clicked and was immediately thanked for upgrading...nothing else. Have gone through all the suggestions, including removal of all things Apple. Still get the same message when I try to download. Now I don't have iTunes at all.

If you don't see the download window when you try to download from APple, you security software may be blocking it. You could try turning off popup blocking to see if that helps.
If you can't get it to work, many people find that downloading from FileHippo works.
