What security site is compatible with Firefox? I have both McAffe and Total Defense Security Center
I have both McAfee Security and Total Defense Security Center and I am having pulling up some surveys I used to be able to pull up like Harris Polls and Ipos. Please tell me if I need to delete one one these security sites.

I have just upgraded from Leopard to Lion (via Snow Leopard) because I could no longer order photo calendars with iphoto 7.1.5. However, I still have iphoto 7.1.5 and need to upgrade this. From the App store it looks as though I cannot get iphoto 9.5.1 due to the incompatibility with Lion. I was recemmended not to upgrade beyond Lion due to the age of my iMac computer (2008 version) by Stormfront staff.
What is the best iphoto to upgrade to and how do I do this e.g. iLife '09 or '11, or are there any other 'stand-alone' versions of iphoto that would be compatible? How do I know whether my computer is capable of upgrading to Mountain Lion? I definitely want to be able to make photo calendars, books and cards.

You can turn off compatibility checking, but more and more of the Google Toolbar will not work. Google is no longer supporting the Google Toolbar so you should use the alternatives.

Not really. Some outdated sites might have a "Best experienced with Internet Explorer" note around somewhere, but even those might work just fine in Firefox.

my LCD HDTV as the monitor for this computer, and in order to see the display easily, I have the following setting in Windows 7: Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > Make text and other items larger or smaller > 150%.
When I change this to the default of 100%, the problems with Reader X in Firefox and IE disappear. Reader 9, however, works perfectly at 100% and 150%.
Is this a known bug in Reader X? Since the problem only appeared when moving from Reader 9 to Reader X, it seems it's not an unsolveable incompatability or something that's too difficult to work around.
Do any others with their displays magnified have this problem? Or does it work perfectly? Would anyone (preferably with Windows 7 64-bit) be willing to set their display magnification to 150% and see if they can replicate the problem? -

I really don't want to switch to Google chrome or any other browser because of Kaspersky.I have 14 days to return it. please advise me that what is the best antivirus that is full compatible with Firefox.Your Kaspersky software is protecting your system, and as long as real-time protection is enabled, it's checking your downloads. What aren't working are their browser add-ons.
Some of the vendors are quicker at providing updates for new versions of Firefox than others. For example, Kaspersky typically take several weeks, while Norton does it almost immediately. I think it's just their different philosophies about how to allocate their resources.
While the browser add-ons can be handy, I'm not sure whether they should be considered critical in your decision on which security software offers the best overall protection. Keeping your browsers and plug-ins up-to-date, avoiding suspicious email attachments and links, and not visiting sketchy websites are the top safety items in my opinion. Also, I run the NoScript extension. -

Found workaround for that problem.
# Open up the about:config page (type it in the address bar and enter) and then right-click anywhere in the about:config page and choose New –> Boolean.
# Write extensions.checkCompatibility.4.0 and make it false.
What it does, is disables automatic compatibility checking from firefox, so you could still use your older add-ons that are not compatible with firefox 4.

My college's online class site is not compatible with Firefox 7
The college has notified us that we have to use Firefox 6 because the website is not compatible with Firefox 7. But frequently I am notified that I will be upgraded to 7, so I go in and have to got through the steps of making sure I am still in version 6. Is there something that can be done to fix this?

What virus software is compatible with OS 10.4.10?
I use Microsoft Encourage for my mail and a combination of Opera and Firefox as my browsers (Opera mostly because of its security).
I didn't renew my virus software because the Mac ads said that I didn't need to, but closer reading led me to find out that your protection is only for my .Mac mail and Safari use.
So, what virus checkers are compatible with OS 10.4.10 and do you recommend?

I only use it when I am downloading software for my windows side or my wife's PC. The only time you really must have protection is when you run windows. There hasn't been any problems yet with a virus on Macs but since it is becoming more popular who's to say there won't be a problem down the road.

I have found information leading me to believe that compatibilities between Java SE6 U29 6.0.290.11 and Flash 11.1.102.55 plugins for Firefox 8. Would someone please confirm or deny weather these plugins are compatible with Firefox 8?
Thank youI updated to Firefox 8, however, the Java Console 6.0.29 is disabled, even though I tried to enable it when Firefox 8 install came back with a dialog box showing the plugins that were installed by 3rd part software.
When I go to the Java web page to check Java - Java works. Also, when trying to use a Java based web site, this too seems to work.
So what is the purpose of Java Console 6.0.29 plugin and should I be concerned that is is disabled?

I downloaded Mail Merge from the add-ons for Thunderbird.
I tried to install it from file in the add-ons page and a message appeared saying Mail Merge could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 31.01.

Most brands are currently compatible (HP, Canon, Epson). Depending on your needs, any model of those brands will work. If you have an iPhone, you may want to get a model that supports AirPrint so you can print from your iPhone. Which ever brand you like, go to their web site and review the models to see which one you want. Also, be sure what you choose supports WiFi so you can use it wirelessly.

When I try to I get a message to say that it isn't compatible with Firefox 5. I'd rather not change from Firefox, so I'm just wondering if it will be compatible in the near future?
