What series is the Satellite 2410-504

I'm trying to flash the Bios on this laptop but don't know what series or model it is.
It says S2410-504 under it.

Hi
The S2410-504 means the Satellite 2410-504 and this notebook seems to belong to the PS241E series.
The Toshiba European page should provide some drivers and also the BIOS to this series.
I found it in the *Archive Satellite Archive Satellite 24xx Satellite 2410-504 PS241E*
Check it out dude

    Hi
As far as I know the wireless card is optional on this unit. This means that you can upgrade your notebook with the miniPCI wireless card which you can put into the wireless slot.
    You can use these cards:
Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card (2,4GHz, 802.11a/b) PA3273U-1MPC
Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card (2,4GHz, 802.11b) PA3212U-1MPC

  • Does Satellite 2410-504 support USB boot?

I own a very old Toshiba Satellite 2410-504, which came out and was bought in 2001/02.
Am curious whether anyone knows it's possible to USB boot in this?
I have USB key but can't boot from it.
Maybe it doesn't support USB 2.0 etc.
    Am not sure.

This is very old notebook model
From my experience such old notebook series did not support booting from USB flash memory stick.
Some of the series supported booting from USB FFD drive (its a drive which supported diskette. Maybe you can remember ;-) )
However, Im quite sure the BIOS would not support the booting from USB flash memory stick

  • Satellite 2410-504 wont start

    Hi All
I have a sick toshiba Satellite 2410-504 laptop.
    When booting up it says:-
"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <Windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
Please re-install a copy of the above file."
Ive put the Windows CD in the CD drive and I've gone into the BIOS and set the CD-ROM as the first Priority but it fails to boot from CD and just continues (what appears) to boot from the HD.
When I changed the BOIS priority it came up with a
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
So after reading this error message I've check the HD is installed and disabled the net card in the BIOS but still wont boot and reverts to the error message as above.
Any other ideas? Is the HD broke?
Why wont it boot from CD?

    Hi
It could be possible that CD/DVD drive cannot read the inserted disk and therefore tries to boot from the HDD.
Therefore I would recommend checking another bootable disk like Linux live CD or just simply another bootable Windows disk.
If the disk is OK, then the CD/DVD drive might be affected. I had an similar problem in the past where the CD/DVD drive could not read the inserted disk. In my case the laser lens was dirty. I cleaned it using cotton wool tip and alcohol and finally could start from the inserted disk

  • NEC ND-6500A DVD+-R/RW drive in Satellite 2410-504?

Can anyone tell me if an NEC ND-6500A DVD+-R/RW drive will work in my Satellite 2410-504 notebook? I have tried fitting one supplied new but the BIOS did not recognise it and gave an IDE #1 error message on boot up. I don't know yet if this was a faulty drive or if the drive is just not compatible. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to enable WLAN on Satellite 2410-504?

    Hello,
please could you help me I am a little bewildered. I would like to wifi enable my laptop. It is a Toshiba Satellite s2410-504. If you know what this laptops short name is that would really help me. I don think it has a centrino chip so I think I will need to wi-fi enable it. I have researched it on the web but I am confused by terms like cardbus. Does my laptop have a cardbus? If not, how will I wi-fi enable my laptop?
Any suggestions for a competitively priced product (is it a chip or what?)
    Thanks.

If the unit can be upgraded with the minPCI WLan card so mostly the slot for a WLan card is placed at the bottom of the unit.
Im not 100% sure if its WLan ready or not.
However, if its possible to upgrade the notebook with the minPCI WLan card so you can order this form the Toshiba authorized service partner in your country.
If its not possible to upgrade it so I would recommend switching to the external solution like a USB WLan stick
Such sticks are not very expensive and very easy to use

  • Will a dual core cpu fit im my Satellite 2410-504

HI Im thinking of upgrading my cpu to dual core I have a Satellite S2410-504 socket 478 mPGA , im want to put a Intel core duo sl9bn inside. Will this work?
    any help please

A Core Duo would be a bit faster but wont make a huge difference.
I had a look at the online brochures, it looks like you can install a 2.2GHz Pentium 4 in that model, which should make a noticeable difference in speed.
There is no way a Core Duo will work with the Chipset in the 2410. There is too much of a generation gap. The Pentium M came out after the P4, which I doubt would work either.
When a new CPU comes out, it is released alongside a new Chipset chip. The new Chipset supports new features of the CPU, along with power management changes, and the update to DDR2.
Basically, if you want to use a Core Duo CPU, you need a mainboard with something like an i965 chipset (Northbridge) that has support for the Core Duo architecture. You cannot upgrade the chipset on a mainboard.

  • What series is the Miix 2 8?

This is nuts. My brand new Miix 2 8 will not turn on so I turned to the "Contact us" and selected "Tablets" and ma asked a "Series" from a small list.
    A
    K
    S
    Thinkpad
    Yoga
I checked the back of the Tablet with a magnifier and nothing like any of those. I tried every option on that list and on the drop-down options, no Miix or anything like it.
Gotta say this is crappy support so far. Might be best to send this thing back if that's the best Lenovo can do.
Can anyone please enlighten me as to how to proceed next to get this started again?

  • Help identify what Series of Satellite

    Hello
I'd like to know how I can tell what Series of Satellite my machine is. It has various numbers on the back, but none of them seem to fit the categories available.
    Thanks
    Joe

    Hi
At the bottom of the unit you will find the number for example like this:
    _Example:_
    Model Name: Satellite A210-10Y
    Model No: PSAELE-00xxxxxxx
If you need drivers then you will have to search for Satellite A210 PSAELE

  • What would be the best way to trigger a series of cascading SPD workflows ?

I have a request to have security setup on a series of folders..
but the start of the security has to wait until the new site workflow is completed,  then once the site is available then the next workflow sets the security on the 1st folder  then once the security WF on the 1st folder is completed, then the
2nd workflow starts,  and sets up the security for the 2nd folder, then once that workflow  is done then the 3rd folders security workflow is triggered and security is setup , then the 4th WF starts once the 3rd WF is completed, and then the security
is set on the 4th WF, and then once it is completed then the 5th WF is started... this pattern continues until the last folder security is setup and then the WF to email me is triggered..
    basically they go like this
    1WF  > 2WF > 3WF > 4WF > 5WF > 6WF > 30Wf completed cycle of Security Setup
What would be the best way to set this up to have the series of workflows trigger after a WF is completed

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to trigger a series of cascading SharePoint workflows.
You need to set parameter: Processed = No/false in each workflow to trigger the next one.
It is similar to the For Each loop workflow in SharePoint 2010.
For more information, you can refer to:

  • We are looking to replace our LaserJet 8150dn printer. What model replaced the 8100 series? - Thanks

We are looking to replace our LaserJet 8150dn printer. What model replaced the 8100 series? - Thanks

    Hi Allan...
Will try to keep this short. Tried to respond yesterday...but message kept coming back as undeliverable.
    I am in SW Louisiana.
Did some checking. Back in Sept of 2006, my screen went black and was experiencing some "popping sounds" prior to it going black. Took it to Baton Rouge (about a 2 hour drive) to CompUSA. They kept it a month and "repaired" it. If I do some serious looking in boxes of old receipt files, I may be able to find the receipt. (Kept receipts because we got flooded out by Katrina in the New Orleans area and was living with mother-in-law during repairs.)
Currently I have the same little problem described earlier to you...collapse to center and black screen for about 15 minutes. Once or twice daily. It has been consistant since first happening back in August...and usually daily when on the computer.
My computer is in the G84201xxxxx range and an eMac USB 2.0.
Saw the message to look at the ones on eBay. Saw a used computer lab one for about $150. May decide to buy it. (Am leery because I bought one some years ago that turned out to be stolen -- I had to give it up when a tech working on the screen saw the serial number from a list of stolen computers from a college computer lab.)
Basically, in your opinion, this problem that I am having will or will not get worse? Capicator problem or cable problem?
Am wondering if the fix done in '06 actually replaced the cable? and WHY I was not told of the recall problem at the time. I know that I had to pay well over $100 for the fix, whatever it was.
Anyway, I will call the 1-800 number this week but expect little or no assistance from them.
When experiencing the problem initially back in 2006, I called Apple tech support and they could do nothing for me and my problem? My extended warranty had run out and was no longer renewable. Strange, if there was a recall fix out there for the problem that I was having, nothing was told to me.
    Anyway, thanks for your input!

  • Memory expansion on Satellite 2410

    Hi
I am planning to expand the memory of my Satellite 2410-601. It has 256 MB DDR at present. I am planning on using one more 256 memory module to expand the total memory to 512 MB.
What I would like to know is whether I can use any of the DDR memory modules available in market? Would there be any compatibility issues?

    Hi
    Do you know this site?
    http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=5548&ft=m&st=3
Here you can find the details about compatible memory modules for Satellite 2410-601.
It seems that the notebook is able to handle the 200-Pin PC2100 (266MHz) DDR SODIMM memory modules!!!
You could upgrade the memory up to max 1GB (2x 512MB)
    >Would there be any compatibility issues?
Generally you shouldnt have any compatibility issues. Its only important that you use the supported modules.
    Greetings

  • Satellite 2410-404: RAM Extension general Questions

There are two two memory modules(256+256) installed on my notebook Satellite 2410-404. There are two memory slots on my notebook. I want to extend the memory, but I could not find the answers to my questions though i searched in the manual, and at this website and this forum... My questions are
    1. Can I extend memory by 256 MB by exchanging the 256 Memory module by 512 MB module? What kind of memory module should i take?
    or
    2. Schould i change both memory modules simultaneously? What kind of memory module should i take?
    3. What can i do with the old memory modules?
    Thank you in advance,
    Vladimir

    > The fact is that you can upgrade the memory to max:
    > 1024MB.
    > In this case you can use max 2x512MB memory modules.
I am really confused now because
    1. in the printed manual i found the following text: "You can install 128MB or 256MB memory modules in both memory slots to extend RAM upto 512 MB"
    2. Kingston site says the same: one can extend RAM upto 512 MB
    http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator/modelsinfo.asp?SysID=12951&mfr=Toshiba&model=Satel lite+2410&Sys=12951-Toshiba-Satellite+2410-404&distributor=0&submit1=Finden
    3. Product details say that the RAM can be extended upto 1024MB
    http://de.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/selected_product_option.jsp?service=DE&PRODUCT_ID= 21161&DISC_MODEL=1
Whom shoud i believe? The printed manual from Toshiba? Or the Toshiba website?
