My ipod touch has been stolen. What can I do about it?
My ipod touch has been stolen. Can I report it? How can i track it to get it back or something?
Call the cops, change your passwords, call your home owner's insurance agent to report the theft (Insurance MAY cover your loss...), buy a new iPod 'cause your's is long gone...
And FMP is worthless for locating an iPod. FMP uses wireless router locations, so if your router is not registered, or the location data was not properly reported, FMP will say your iPod is in BFE (Bum F#$% Egypt) or some such place.

my ipod touch has been stolen, is there any way of getting it restored to factory settings without physically having it??
Hi gadget377,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. This article has some information on steps you can take if your device is stolen:
What to do if your iOS device is lost or stolen

There are 2 different sections depending on if you had enabled Find My iPhone or not at the time it was stolen.
Take care,

No app on the iPod is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

HT201365 My iPod touch has been stolen please help me
How can I find my iPod touch 5th gen that has been stolen if it's turned off? Are they a way to at least tell me where the last place it was ? Is there no other way to track it down where it doesn't have to be connected to Internet ? Please help if you have any good answers for me thank you for your time
Think about it logically...
Every electronic device needs power to function. If they are turned off, nothing works.
To track anything remotely, it needs some kind of wireless communications, which also require power.
The only way you can find your powered off iPod touch is to physically look for it. Even if the iPod had power and Internet, it doesn't have GPS so any location gathered would be very approximate. -
Please help guys. It would mean the world if I got my Ipod back. What should I do?

Help my IPod touch has been stolen can we block it or wipe it
Hi can anyone tell me if we can swipe an iPod touch in anyway through iCloud or block it as its been stolen . Thank u
f you have previously set up/configured the FindMyIPod service in the iPod's settings, you might be able to track it that way by going to www.icloud.com and signing in with your Apple ID. Then click the FindMyiPod icon. This also requries that the iPod Touch be still powered on, connected to a nearby Wi-Fi network whose location has been correctly entered into Apple's location database) and not have been restored by somebody else who my have located the device.
Otherwise, I'm afraid you are out of luck and will need to look for it as you would anything else you lose. You should report the lost item to the local authorities and change any and all passwords to any accounts you may have set up or accessed with the device. Apple can do nothing to help.

You need to place the device in recovery mode.
Instructions here > iOS: Unable to update or restore
"If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present" -
