I am trying to clean up my credit and raise my score so I am able to be debt free. I was 18 when I got credit cards and did not understand how they worked and a temporary job loss due to personal reasons but now I am employed and make 10/hr and average 30 hrs per week w/ I have $400 in savings. I have been a avid reader of this forum and decided it was time to post. What should I get started with? & What cards should I get rid off

Right now I wouldn't recommend closing any of your accounts, pay them off and try to stay under 1-9% UTL usage. Try gardening your current accounts until the baddies fall off. From now on try to pay on time whenever you can and don't apply for any more cards. Be patient, whats effecting your credit is the CO. Are any of them Derogatory?

Macbook Pro won't power on, what should my game plan be?

So I have a 17" 2.53 ghz i5 500gb MBP from Mid 2010 running snow leopard (can't remember which os). I have never really had issues with it other than a busted cd-drive. Around October, I plugged my old iphone 4 into the usb port and my computer completely shut down. When plugged in, the green charging light is lit up, but the laptop will not power on. The LED light in the front blinks, starting dim and getting brighter for approx. 1.5 seconds, then abruptly blinks off and starts again. All of the side green lights blink when I press the little button next to them. I tried resetting both the NVRAM and the SMC to no avail. When I press the power button, it makes a very faint sound as if its about to start up, and repeats that sound, but otherwise nothing happens.
I have since bought a new (much less expensive) Acer laptop that I am more than happy with, but I'd like to know if there is any way I can fix it or get it fixed for a reasonable price, as well as what is specifically wrong with it, in order to sell it for a higher price. Gazelle offered me $50, which is a pretty low blow considering I bought it for over $2000 less than 5 years ago. Should I attempt to bring it in to the apple store, or maybe try craigslist? Or just bite the bullet and go with gazelle...Do make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a FREE evaluation. At least then you will be in a position to make an informed decision, whether to sell it as is or repair it.

Adobe only sell the latest version of Creative Suite which is CS6 so you can't buy CS5 anymore. Upgrades are also only available from CS5 to CS6 so CS3 wouldn't qualify anyway.

No Apple online store will ship outside the coutry.
If you want an iPhone, then you'll have to order via the Russian Apple store online if there is one, or you'll have to wait until it is released in your own country or go and buy one in Europe. -
HP Pavilion TX1000 Tablet PC - Replacing the fan (Qs and my plan of attack)
Alright, so I finally got my HP Pavilion TX1000 tablet PC that I mentioned about when I asked a week or two ago about the 3G module. It works quite well, even if it does show it's age, I'm happy with it. One thing I noticed about it was that it heats up quite a lot when sitting idle.
The buyer noted in his listing that the fan might need replacing. It turns out that the system is cooking itself since it doesn't have any exhaust fan sucking the heat out of the vents as the fan is seized. This means when the laptop gets around 70*C, the BIOS safety temperature watchdog kicks in and kills the laptop until the laptop's internal thermal sensor has detected a safe temperature. Judging from Speedfan readings before the laptop shut down, this overheating issue popped it's head up around 70*C.
I got a friend to drop in his MacBook cooler that he uses, and I have it plugged into a USB socket. It is keeping the HP Tablet in a safe (but still warm) 60*C-ish temperature rage. I also got a portable AA-battery powered fan and aimed the fan at the vents, which meant I was "blasting" cool air into the vents. This kept the system down around 45 - 50*C.
I took the laptop apart partially (well, not a complete teardown but enough to see it's fan when it's switched on to see if it's spinning, and I can confirm the fan is not spinning at all, not even when the CPU is really hot, it's just stationary. I looked around and didn't see any wires stuck in the fan or anything, so I'm assuming the fan is seized up (or burnt out).
I've ordered this replacement fan off eBay for my tablet. Spare part number matches apparently: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/300749320112 .
Now, my question is, is it possible that laptop fans can be seize up in rare events? Don't shun me away and say "Oh no, it would never happen", because fans are moving parts and could seize up if subjected to a lot of heat. I know the TX1000 series are known for overheating woes, so I'm going to ask you this - In your experience, have you seen fans failing, and if so, could a seized motor be the cause?
I am going to follow this guide once the fan arrives (http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/hewlett-packard/8875-modding-tx1000-part-1-changing-thermal-compound...) because I heard that black paint on the heatsink assembly does nothing to help keep the CPU cool, and if I remove it, I can get a 5 - 10*C CPU temperature droppage. Which is good because I don't want it to be burning my hands if I'm using it to jot notes down!

bearings fail, fan motor/boards fail, mainboard control & power can also fail !
Most modern equipment has almost no real effort in proper thermal control so some modifications may help but you will be limited in what is achievable on a finished product.
Here in Asia we have done a lot of notebook cooling mod combo's such as vent increases, thermal shims, quality thermal grease & secondary 25 to 30mm 5v case venting fans with internal porting & baffles to help good airflow/heat extraction with great results in reducing overheating & component failure ...
Should be done at the factory !
For $10 of parts we reduced a custom dv2500 with T770 & Nvidea graphics by 25% & made the machine reliable & feel safe rather than a lap microwave ...

The update alerts are fake, and are intended to mislead you into installing malware and/or to steal your identity.
You might get the alerts when visiting a website that has been hacked. Don't visit the site again. If applicable, notify the site administrator of the problem, but don't send email to an unknown party.
If you get the alerts when visiting well-known websites such as Google, YouTube, or Facebook, then they're the result of an attack on your router that has caused you to get false results from looking up the addresses of Internet servers. Requests sent to those sites are redirected to a server controlled by the attacker.
The router's documentation should tell you how to reset it to the factory default state. Usually there's a pinhole switch somewhere in the back. It may be labeled "RESET." Insert the end of a straightened paper clip or a similar tool and press the button inside for perhaps 15 seconds, or as long as the instructions specify.
Then go through the initial setup procedure. I can't be specific, because it's different for every model. The key points are these:
1. Don't allow the router to be administered from the WAN (Internet) port, if it has that option. Most do.
2. Set a strong password to protect the router's settings: at least ten random upper- and lower-case letters and digits. Don't use the default password or any other that could be guessed. Any password that you can remember is weak.
3. If the router is wireless, or if you have a wireless access point on the network, use "WPA 2 Personal" security and set a different strong password to protect the network. If the router or access point doesn't support WPA 2, it's obsolete and must be replaced.
During the time the router was compromised, you were redirected to bogus websites. If you ever connected to a secure site and got a warning from your browser that the identity of the server could not be verified, and you dismissed that warning in order to log in, assume that your credentials for the site have been stolen and that the attacker has control of the account. This warning also applies to all websites on which you saw the fake update alerts.
If you downloaded and installed what you thought was a software update, ask for instructions. -

Virtualization...what should i use?

I'm planning to virtualize a Quad core / 4gb ram. I'd like to build 2-4 virtual machines for testing some advanced features of Asterisk / MySQL and some other well known softwares. I have some licenses for Asterisk addons from digium, so i'd like to maintain them over time, using the virtual machine and moving it.
What should i use? I don't need fancy 3D Acceleration, just a common abstraction for all the hw i have (pretty standard: usb, nics, harddisks...).
I was thinking about Xen Server or Virtual Box (anyway, i'm using them for my personal lab, so i'd prefer solutions that don't require a license...).
The solution should be "headless", i don't want to be forced to login to X every time the guest systems need to be booted...

Lucai've started playing around with QEMU/KVM a couple days ago, and i like it. was using vbox before, which i didn't.
i haven't noticed any mouse lag yet, after installing a few of the main distros i wanted to try out again: fedora 19, debian wheezy, ubuntu (latest, whatever the no.). only trouble i have that so far i wasn't able to get a mouse working properly in an archlinux guest probably something i'm doing wrong, but couldn't figure it out yet.
tried a few GUI frontends, but found that i'm better off starting VMs from the command line: less confusing, and all of the GUI apps i tried had some quirks, like didn't find proper directories or executables.
using KVM and virtio drivers, it's pretty fast; admittedly not as fast a bare metal install, but not slower than i remember vbox (just my impression, no benchmarking or such). assuming i'll get the arch guest trouble sorted out, i'll stick with KVM/QEMU.

The wish number 1 (multiple directory) prevents me for buy NitroX to the
