What should I do if my Ipod Touch keeps losing charge a lot?, What should I do if my Ipod Touch keeps losing charge a lot?

My Ipod touch (3rd generation I believe) keeps losing charge really fast after I charge it and when it's charging the apple symbol keeps popping up.  Also, when I plug it into my computer it doesn't show up on my iTunes.  What should I do?

Start here.
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
When you get iTunes to see the iPod try the standrd fixes to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing wil be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
You could have a bad battery that needs replacment.  I can't really tell since you did say how long the battery lasted.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

You have to activate a new iPod by either setting it up via wifi network that has an internet connection on to connect to a computer that has iTunes and an internet connection.
You can go to an Apple store or or to a friend's house if necessary

  • My Ipod Touch isnt loading my apps. What should I do?

My Ipos Touch isnt loading my apps. What should I do?

    Hello all,
I have had the same problem,
It seems to be after charging/synching the ipod with my computer (connected via usb).
Any apps which were fully closed, (not in the 'task manager' like feature where you double tap the home button) are unable to be opened. When you try the screen 'zooms in' as if to go into and app, then flashes and sends you back to the home screen. The app is then in the 'task manager' but it is unreachable and the same thing happens when you try to open some apps.
The temporary fix I have found is to download and install any app on the ipod (i use small free ones). This seems to 'ulnock' the bug and the ipod is usable as normal.
This is a bug which really annoys me as I often charge mine using my pc, then leave home. I go to play a game or use some app which does not require wifi and I am unable to open almost anything.
I have not had any previuos versions of iOS but I am under the impression that this error only occurs in iOS5 on some ipod touches...
I have yet to figure out if using the wall charger has the same effect on the ipod. Will update this post when I do.
Any suggestions on a  permanent solutino would be much appreciated.
    Cheers

  • I have an iPod touch 1stgen and I purchased the most recent update and downloaded it well when it went to updat my iPod touch it won't restore it what should I do

I purchased the most rent iOS download from iTunes to update my 1st gen iPod touch and after it was done downloading it started to restore my iPod with the update and now my iPod wont update and it keeps showing error 1604 and won't come out of recovery mode how do I  fix it so I can update my iPod touch with this software. Thank you

    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

  • Is this ipod touch 2nd or 3rd Generation, and what is the difference?

    Hi,
Could anyone tell me if this ipod touch 2nd or 3rd Generation, and what is the difference?
    http://www.johnlewis.com/230690655/Product.aspx
& also would this sleeve fit this ipod model?
    http://www.johnlewis.com/230680469/Product.aspx
    Thanks.
    P.s.
I'm hoping to get this soon so would be really appreciative of
    your responses.

There is no hardware difference between what people refer to as a "second-generation" and "third-generation" 8GB iPod touch. The only difference is the version of OS included. Since the site says it's "new" I would presume it's the version with the 3.x version of the OS, but I'd suggest confirming with John Lewis.
As to the case, I don't believe there's any difference in the physical specs between the 2nd-gen and 3rd-gen hardware, so any case that fits one should fit the other.
    Regards.

    Oh Guten Tag.
If your Home Button works, you should be able to reset - press the Home and Main button at the same time for 15 sec. Then press the main button for 2sec to have it restart.
    Do what I said earlier:
I would advice you to go to the link I sent you above: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do and ask for an exception.
I don't promise that they'll change it but they may, mainly if the problem of the Home Button is going on since more than half a year (still within the one year warranty) and you just explain that you did not know that you could have changed it at the time and now it's completely dead.
If you really want to recover all your stuff and are living in the US, you should go to the nearest Genius bar and see what they can do.

    Hello there MizzouTrojan,
If I understand correctly you want all 6 devices to have access to a single calendar that each device gets notifications for and can edit. You can do that with an private iCloud shared calendar. First sign into www.icloud.com and use these steps from the following article to share a calendar:
iCloud: Share a calendar with others
    Share a calendar privately
Click the Share button to the right of the calendar name in the sidebar, then select Private Calendar.
Note:    You can also share the same calendar publicly. For instructions, see the next task, “Share a calendar publicly.”
Type the invitee’s email address in the Add Person field and press Return.
Click the pop-up menu with the invitee’s name and choose access privileges (View & Edit or View Only).
For each person you want to share the calendar with, repeat steps 2 and 3.
When you’ve invited everyone and set their privileges, click OK.
Invitation emails are sent from your iCloud email address to the participants you specified.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling
