What should i do if when i plug my ipod in to sync, my computer wont recognize it?
so when i go to sync my ipod, i plug it in and on itunes it says that my ipod was not recognized
I just used another computer. At any point did it say an error about mobile? If so, I recommend taking it to your manufacturer. I called Apple because it happened to me, they said uninstall ALL Apple files then install iTunes. You can do this by going to your control panel and go to "Uninstall a Program" then search Apple or just scroll down and find it. This is for windows, I'm not sure about Macs.

When I plug my IPOD touch into my Dell computer it comes up with Judy's IPOD, the click on where it says internal storeage then a folder comes up that says DCIM then click on that and another folder comes up 800AAAAA and when you click on that all you see if pictures. You have to follow these instructions. When they say restore from backup your iPod will also be updated.

i just got an ipod touch and downloaded itunes. when i plug my ipod into my computer itunes doesnt read my ipod. i looked it up in 'help' in itunes and it said if itunes doesnt read your device to click on 'device' and hit add. but i dont see a 'device' button anywhere. can anybody help m eplease?

My ipod nano library is on a computer we no longer have connect to internet. When I plug my ipod into wife's computer all I see his her itunes library. I want to use my wifes computer to get to my library. How can I do this? thanks

PC automatically shutsdown when I plug my iPod nano 4g into the computer
I've only been able to sync my iPod once, but every other time I plugged it into my computer, a blue screen automatically pops up saying that it's going to shutdown unexpectingly, any ideas? I'd like to update my iPod again some time soon

Message was edited by: arkboy12I've never heard of it. Here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again. -
Itunes "unexpectedly quits" when I plug my ipod in to sync it!
I'm running Windows Vista, and whenever I try to sync my iPod or open iTunes at that, it 'Unexpectedly quits'. I use iTunes all the time, and it'd be nice to be able to use it again.
If anyone has had this problem and has fixed it, mind telling me how you did it?

-Josh.The problem might not be iTunes at all, but your iPod software. The next time you plug in your iPod, open the iPod updater Application and run it. Make sure you have the latest software installed on your iPod, then try opening iTunes.

This computer is a computer handed out to us from school that we use throughout highschool. We are allowed to sync our itunes accounts so theres no problem there.See:

our devices dont show up in itunes anymore,and the only thing it will do is import the pictures and videos since we updated to the new itunes

- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers

- Try on another computer/network
