What should I do regarding fault and engineer?

We moved house and paid a £130 connection charge at the start of September. I was a bit naive when the engineer presented me with all his green bars and asked if it was alright. I didn't check anything before he left! I've been meaning to get around to phone them since, as we've had noise on the line (one socket, no extensions, noise over a corded phones dial tone plugged into the master socket on its own).
Broadband went from 3mb in the first few days down to 1.5mb.
Broadband disconnects when phone rings / is used. Tried new filters to no avail.
Anyways, a couple of days ago the the broadband stopped working completely and the noise levels on the line increased. I finally made the call to BT to get the line fixed and an engineer is come out tomorrow. Thing is, the box was a bit loose on the wall (since we moved in) so I took the faceplate off and tightened the screw. Inside the wires look a mess, frayed wires sticking out in all directions pretty much.
Tightening the box back to the wall "worked", in the sense that we're back to where we were before the broadband went off completely (bit of a noisy line, broadbands slow etc.). I'm worred that now the broadbands working, the engineer will just come around, see its working and leave it at that (and probably charge us again!).
Theres still the same problems with the line as before, should I just wait for the engineer and see if he can fix them?
Even though the problems improved a little bit?
Sorry for the essay, just trying to avoid that dreaded charge!

Please post back with how you get on with the engineer, and aso I would imagine he would just replace the master socket and then run a few tests, I doubt the master socket was causing the problems in the first place.
But to be truthfully, I love a clean master socket like mine which I did a few weeks ago.

you dont get all the features of j2se when you have j2ee with you. they are 2 different things.
j2ee mostly deals with things which are required for a enterprise application building which include EJBs, Servlets, JSPs etc. while the J2SE is more useful for application developement (using Swing e.g). this is only a crude differentiation.
the choice betweeen the two depends on your requirement. e.g. if you are developing a web application, you will go for J2EE and proceed using the components available there.
if you specify your requirements, then we can discuss the details may be.

Contacts are not a part of backup. Only favourites and recent calls list is backed up.
Contacts are synced with a compatible programme on your computer (Outlook, Windows Contacts, Address Book etc) or with a cloud service (iCloud, Yahoo, Google). Sync back your contacts from whichever programme you were using.
If you have not been syncing/backing up your contacts with any of the programme, then they are gone.

I have put in an enormous amount of contacts/date entries (collected from various places) into my iPhone but I am not currently attached or fully using any PC or online apps (not very smart of me, I know). So I am getting worried about a possibility of losing them, since my entries are not backed up/synced.
I need to figure out what would be the best application to sync my phone with. I am on PC platform and I want to make sure that my contacts/date entries will import to my PC without getting overwritten.

Since you are running XP, you can use Outlook Express for contacts which is a free MS application I believe - included with Windows but calendar events requires Outlook 2003 or 2007 which isn't free but if you already have either one installed, I would use Outlook for both so all data is available with a single application.
Make sure you have at least one contact available in Outlook Express's address book or in Outlook's address book and one calendar event available in Outlook before syncing.
This is risky to say the least since there is always the chance all contact entries and calendar events currently on the iPhone will be removed during the sync process but you don't have any choice.

If you are teaching HighSchool photography - then odds are pretty good that your students will have Photoshop (one way or another) and be relatively familiar with it already (at least for posting to instagram/pinterest/facebook). Talking down to them and trying to teach Elements might not go over well.
(I know my niece's middle school taught Photoshop classes - which still feels weird from a "wait, they're teaching MY works and quoting ME in middle school!" perspective)
For online training, I'd start at lynda.com
There are several other sites with online training, and conferences/seminars with training in a variety of Photoshop uses, plus a lot of books ("Photoshop for Photographers" by Martin Evening would be a good tome to start with). Many community colleges also teach classes in basic Photoshop usage - but the quality of those classes varies pretty widely.

Hey, what's the status regarding pages and RTL?

i found some discussions in google, but they were pretty old ('09, '10). I was wondering where pages (or the entire iWork suite) stands today in regards to supporting RTL languages, and mixed (LTR and RTL) documents

Really disappointing, not for the unsupporting of RTL Languages but also for the careless of Apple after all of this years of discussions.
I bought Pages from app store, I regeret it because its useless to me without RTL support.
I thought Apple software is trusted and I can buy it without hesitation, but I now relize that I need to read a lot & a lot of reviews before I decide to but any thing from Apple.

Fans are loud what should I replace them with and how?

Just like the subject says my fans on my power mac g5 seem to be a bit on the obnoxious loud side. Was this just with the early G5 models? Anyways I wanted to know if it would do me any good to by different fans for it. If so which fans do you recommend? How easy is it to to put onto the computer?

I think pretty much all the fans are custom made for Apple, at least that's what they look like - not at all like the typical PC fans...
Which fans are loud? You could use Hardware Monitor to show how fast they spin - and compare to these numbers of other G5 owners. Which model do you have anyway?
(Check in /Applications/Utilities/System Profiler -> Hardware Overview)
And which graphics card is installed? Cause its fan might be loud (if it has one - the default cards usually don't) - it was in my case (currently Geforce 7800 GT) as well as with my earlier G5 (dual 2.0 GHz, 2003 model, with CTO Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB). The video card fan is replaceable if one has some experience. The rest of the G5's fans are more difficult. If a particular fan is bad, you might be able to get a replacement for it as a service part, from some mac dealer in your vicinity.
It may also help to carefully vacuum the huge heatsink on the G5 processors and air outlets in the back. The G5 must be off of course, and don't touch or even go close to the RAM or Mobo, as the vacuum machine might be electrostatically charged.

If Safari is crashing.. post a crash report so we can try and help...
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply including the, "binary images" seection.
If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

I had to rebuild my iTunes Library by dragging my music folders in my iTunes Media into the iTunes Application and rebuild my playlists manually. After plugging my iPhone 5 into the computer USB, it immediately recognized my iPhone 5, showing: last backups, space left on my iPhone & all options available. I then checked the box to manually manage music etc. The problem I am now having is that when I actually try to drag music from my iTunes to my phone a prompt comes up saying that my iPhone is not an authorized device. What should I do? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Given your situation, I’d highly recommended that you purchase a SATA-to-USB adapter, so that you can test both your old disk and your new disk externally, since it might be that the problem is due to a faulty internal SATA cable rather than due to faulty disks.

If you tap and hold down the icon - and the X does not appear on the icon - you will not be able to delete it without totally downloading it. Finish the download and then delete it.

You usually get this error if you try to install an extension that needs to be unpacked to work properly.<br />
Current Firefox version do not unpack an extension automatically, but rename the xpi file to the extension's GUID.
