What should I do to upgrade my PowerBook G4 15" to use Ipad

I'm currently using
PowerBook G4 15" run on version 10.4.11
CPU Speed:1.5 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU):512 KB
Memory:768 MB
Hard drive:80gb
Recently,i just won an ipad and i cant use it at all.the moment i connect it prompt, need an higher version 10.5.8 or later version.i cant do anything bout it unless upgrade.need some advice what should i do in order not to get a new macbook.can i upgrade higher version with my current system that i have? if i upgrade what the max for memory and hard drive i can go? can i go higher then 10.5 version after upgrade? can my powerbook support all this upgrade?

This means your PB is actually an Aluminum PB G4 (not Titanium).

Yes, but good luck finding 10.5 at a decent price.

Your PB needs a PATA (most current HDs are SATA), so size is more limited (maybe 160GB?) and price significantly higher. Max RAM is 2GB.

Yes, but that "free" iPad is going to cost you quite a bit going this route.

Absolutely the 8gig of Ram
i7 is only 15% faster average on high task apps, otherwise you'd not notice a difference

Please explain why you want to upgrade? You have the most recent OS on it, and the RAM is close to the maximum.
If you want to increase performance, viz. speed and responsiveness, I would recommend replacing the hard drive with a solid state drive. The performance boost is startling. See this from Macworld:

If you're going to use it only with Macs, use Mac OS Extended (Journaled). It's the fastest filesystem to use on Macs.
If you're going to use it with PCs and Macs, use exFAT or FAT. I recommend exFAT because it hasn't got limitations as FAT and it's faster, but you need Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later to use it on PCs

What should I know about upgrading processors?

I recently bought a 400 MHz Gigabit Ethernet on eBay (still hasn't come yet). I've looked into processor upgrades and know they can be done, but not how to tell which processors will be compatible. I want to say that the Gigabit' uses a ZIF socket, but I can't remember where I might have heard that. So, please tell me whatever I might need to know about processor upgrades.
Also, can this unit take a second processor? I know other Gigabit Ethernets shipped with them, but the 400 MHz only shipped with one and I don't know if this one is actually capable of taking two. If it is, feel free to tell me what I could also need to know about that.

OWC has a service where you can punch in your model and upgrades only for it show up.
G4 Gigabit 400mz (2000). I bought an OWC 1GHz CPU from there for my G4 Gigabit. works great....it was a clearance item and I see they don't sell them anymore.

What should i do first? I was trying to update the iPad when it failed.

During the update it failed and wiped the iPad back to the factory setings, erasing the pictures of my recently pasted away daughter. Is there anyway to save these pictures before having iTunes do a restore? I bought this iPad from the online store on Nov. 26, 2010 and it was suppose to have the 4.2 version but it did not and that is why i was trying to update. It had the system almost backed up when i walked away for a second and when i returned my iPad had the USB and Itunes face like when i originally recieved it. How would i find that backed up materials, as well?

Yes I transferred them from the camera connection. The pictures that I did not have backed up were those of my friends to that were going back home out of state and they let me copy the pictures they had taken. Also I ws worried about the pictures that I edited with Photoshop app and saved. This would of been the first time I had the oppurtunity to save them to my computer. At this point I don't think I have any other choice but to do the iTunes restore and update and hope the back up completed and whatever it was suppose to do after that is what failed. Background: we had twins, a boy and a girl, and at birth my little girl passed away. We were able to hold her for a while and have family and friends come in and give us their support. My day was split between being there for my wife, spending preciuos time with my daughter and running to another room to make sure my little boy was going to be okay. Plug it in and restore it as a new device to clear any of the previous owners stuff off it. Then sync it with your own stuff.

If your iPad has no front or back cameras, then you have an original iPad 1.
The original iPad 1 cannot be upgraded any further than iOS 5.1.1.
