What should I do with my iPhone?
I’m Vietnamese. My father bought me an iPhone 5s in Hong Kong on 5th, November, 2013. However, on 5th, May, 2014, my iPhone went from working perfectly fine to "searching..." for a signal despite being in an area with good coverage. I tried to turn turn on airplane mode then turn off again, switching off iPhone and switching on again, and also Reset Network Settings. However, those are can't fix my iPhone. I removed the SIM Card and put in another iPhone, I worked perfectly. I connected iPhone with iTunes to update 7.1.1 but it did not success. Finally, I decided (after creating a full backup) to put the phone into recover mode and try to restore it that way. Not only, did I get an “unknown error (1)", I attempted that many times and now my phone is stuck in recovery mode. I have sent it back Hong Kong to repair because I’m still under warranty (I asked my father’s friend help me to send, because of my studying so I could not directly come the store). From that day until today (25th, June, 2014), he called them many times, but they always said:” We will check and if impossible to repair, we will switch it for a new one”. And today, when he calls them again, they said that my iPhone cannot be replaced a new one because it has been opened????????? I am totally sure that my iPhone hadn’t been opened yet.
I had 2 questions: the first is why didn’t they check my iPhone immediately after receiving it from my father’s friends?; and the second is that after we send my iPhone for service, I will receive a replacement or your repaired iPhone in three to five business days; but in fact, they reported it to us after nearly two months??? Who can ensure that they did not open my iPhone?
What should I do?
First you aren't talking to Apple here. This is just a user forum hosted by Apple. We are all just users here.
Suggestion: Backup and then Restore your iPhone as new using iTunes on your computer.
Test battery usage to see if it is normal. If not, contact Apple support; you may have a hardware problem.
If battery usage is normal then restore your iPhone from the backup and continue to monitor battery usage.

Basically the iPhone's backup stores all data not included with the sync process.
When performing a Restore with iTunes, the options are to restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup, or as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If you constantly cancel the backup process, this may cause the backup to become corrupt and if you never allow it to finish, you won't be able to restore what should be saved with the backup.
How many 3rd party applications do you have installed and regularly use that create/store data?
And do you have a number of photos that were captured by your iPhone available that have not been imported by your computer and then erased from your iPhone as with any other digital camera?
If so and you regularly capture more photos, these are included with the backup. -
My iPhone 4S which is 1 year and 10 months old has developed yellow spot on left side of screen. Otherwise iPhone works perfectly but that yellow spot continuously annoys me. What should I do as my iPhone is out of warranty now??? The yellow spot becomes prominent on playing games... Will it spread further and get even worse or it is harmless??? Unfortunately, you cannot do very much with your phone unless you get assistance from the previous owner, they should either provide you with the password to unlock it or remove their account from the phone entirely remotely through iCloud.com > Find My Phone. -

If it was stolen the thief will wipe it with the result that you will not be able to track it.
Contact your carrier. They may be able to block further use of the phone. No good to you but then no good to the thief either. -

The bullets 'Open with Browse' and Sane File.Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

I keep getting the message: "what should Firefox do with this file" in Windows XP every time I want to download a file, e.g., adobe, excel, etc. How can this annoying message be deleted? The check box to "open file automatically" does not work!

Thanks for your prompt reply. However, the sources you gave do not seem to apply exactly to my situation. I have attached some screenshots that show what the dialogue box looks like for a pdf download, and what my settings in the Apps panel of Options are. You will note in the first screenshot that I have checked the box to handle this file type automatically; however, the next time I try to download a file of that type, the same dialogue box appears looking exactly like the one shown, so checking the "automatic" option appears to do nothing. The files to be downloaded from my Gmail messages are not generic or altered file types - they are shown as pdf, doc, docx, etc. So while your intent was good, your post did not help. Thanks anyway. -

I get a dialogue box asking "What should Firefox do with this file" Options open with or save file. My wife selected save file and now it only opens note pad and displays the text of the file to be saved. OK in windows Internet Explorer.

How does apple know what the fault is with my iphone when sending it to them on apple care. My sleep/ wake button seems to be stuck so I sent in for a repair on the website and they sent me a apple care box and said send it back but I Carnt remember if I told them the fault or do they know by the repair ID number? Please help as I'm sending it off in a couple of day.
Include a note in the shipping box describing in detail the issue you have with the phone. Include your name, address, phone number, email, iPhone model and serial number, and a detailed explanation of the problem.

While installing the CS6 Apps through CC Subscription, what should I do with my old CS4 App
While installing the CS6 Apps through Creative Cloud Subscription, what should I do with my old CS4 Apps still in my Apps folder?
After installing my first 2, Ai and ID, I check the Application Folder and both the newly installed CS6 and my old CS4 versions of each App are in the folder.
Do I just throw away into the trash the CS4 versions? If so, will all my created data files remain intact?

Thanks!Uninstall the CS4 versions properly using the uninstallers that come with them (aliases are in each of the apps' directories). Beyond that it works as it should - newer versions always leave older ones in place. Whether or not you will be able to open all your CS4 files in CS6 we cannot know - yes, newer versions should open older files, but you may be using specific stuff that limits compatibility like certain plug-ins that would need to be upgraded for CS6 as well. For that exact reason you may wanna keep CS4 around a while longer until you can be sure...

No one here would know Apple's plans. But, if past history holds true, expect a new model iPhone sometime between now & the fall.
