Two days ago I opened Photoshop Elements 7 and received this error message:
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Hard disk5\DR5
I have uninstalled and reinstalled and updated. Restarted the computer and I still get the same message.
Please someone help! I use this program often. Thanks.

Try resetting the PSE preferences by
   1. Close Elements.
   2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Edit.
   3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.

I downloaded the add on and finally got it enabled.
So under file Mail Merge is an option and I get through all of it, but then I get this error message every time.

My "C" drive, which is where I originally set up iTunes. was nearly full from the music I had downloaded from cd's so I moved everything to my "D" drive which has a huge amount of space and is nearly empty. Everything went well until I picked a song to play and I got the following error message: The song" " cannot be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" I went to the "D" drive and opened the song, it then duplicated itself into iTunes and began to play. Now I have a song the error message says it can't open and one that plays correctly. I have downloaded 768 songs into iTunes so far. Am I going to have to follow these same steps 768 times or is there an easier way? Thanks.

This article in the Apple Knowledge Base outlines the method for changing the location of the iTunes Music folder.
I'm guessing you didn't follow that method so if your music is still on the C drive, I'd suggest deleting it from the D drive and starting over again by following the steps in the article.
If your music isn't on the C drive any more, post back and we'll try something else.

Did you try it with the iTunes your Mac already has?
Try running Software Update in your System Preferences. That should bring your computer up to the latest software available for 10.4. You would end up with an older version of iTunes, but that may be good enough to activate your iPad.

Thanks for your prompt reply. However, the sources you gave do not seem to apply exactly to my situation. I have attached some screenshots that show what the dialogue box looks like for a pdf download, and what my settings in the Apps panel of Options are. You will note in the first screenshot that I have checked the box to handle this file type automatically; however, the next time I try to download a file of that type, the same dialogue box appears looking exactly like the one shown, so checking the "automatic" option appears to do nothing. The files to be downloaded from my Gmail messages are not generic or altered file types - they are shown as pdf, doc, docx, etc. So while your intent was good, your post did not help. Thanks anyway.

This may be an indication of a deeper resource issue.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

That could be a hardware problem with the screen digitizer but first try these troubleshooting steps in this order:
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds). No data will be lost.
Restore: Connect your device to iTunes on your computer, backup, and then select Restore to Factory.

ISync fails - what to do with this error message?

I set my iMac to autosync everyday at a certain time. I realized that the last sync was 7/27/06, and when I go to Sync tab in the .Mac system preferences, I get the following ".Mac Sync Error" message exactly as follows:
"* -[NSKeyedUnarchiver initForReadingWithData:]: incomprehensible archive (0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0)"
Any idea of what sync fails? and what I need to do ?

With the release of Mac OS X 10.4 more than a year ago, iSync no longer has anything to do with the synchronization of contacts, calendars and tasks with .Mac - that is the responsibility of .Mac Sync. You should probably post you query in the .Mac Sync forum, here:

You may be able to deal with the error message by resetting the Sync Services framework—its truth database, actually—by launching iSync, opening the Preferences… dialog, and pressing the Reset Sync History button. That will leave your data intact and your sync clients registered, but reset the truth database and framework to behave in such a way that your next synchronization event will appear to be the first event you have ever performed.
The 'incomprehensible archive' the error message refers to is likely on your Macintosh.
Before proceeding further, back up your contact and calendar files using the built in provision to do so in both the Address Book and iCal. If resetting the database does not correct your issue, you can launch System Preferences, open the .Mac pane and press the Advanced tab. In the lower left corner is a Reset Sync History button. Press that, and in the dialog which appears, configure .Mac to overwrite the data files for one OS X application on your machine at a time, starting with contacts. Make sure that you overwrite your computer data [which you have just backed up, and can therefore restore if that is necessary] with the data from .Mac.
