Use Story to create a script for subtitle text

I have found a way to use the Speech Analysis through After Affects to create subtitles. However, the film I am making is a documentary and in a foreign language. We have the transcripts of the translated speech and I need to get that into Premiere and eventually After Effects to create the visual subtitles.
I have seen some threads on using Story to enter transcripts, but I'm new to this Story application and can't figure out how to use it for what I want. I need to assign the text I have to a specific place on the clip. Can Story (and/or Premiere) do this and how do I do it?
I have assigned a scene number then some text, but nothing is showing up in the clip's metadata with the script assigned to it.
Any suggestions? Any other ideas for getting text assigned to timecode points for subtitles?

What Size Drive for Media Cache?

Hi there,
I'm about to edit a large project (5TB of 4K RED footage and counting) on a laptop and am intending to use the setup below for disks. Ideally I would have gone for a "4 disk" setup, but I've maxed out my eSATA connections and would have to use USB for anything else. If coincidentally you can see any problems with this configuration please let me know!

Personally, I wouldn't dedicate a disk or a volume to media cache and DB - I believe that money is better spent on the main media volume's speed and capacity. In your case, since you don't seem to plan to have a relatively fast main media volume (e.g. an eSATA RAID0), a separate drive for media caching and database may have a performance benefit. The size of it depends on the size of your projects, how complex your project and timelines are, how much rendering they require. Usually even a small disk (under 100GB) will do just fine for the purpose; the current "sweet spot" is around 256GB SSD and 500-750GB 7200rpm mechanical drive.

What size partition for Leopard?

I am thinking of installing Leopard on a partition by itself. Three questions:
1. What components should be on the "Leopard" partition? Can "users" be somewhere else?
2. When installing from the CDs, can I split things between two different partitions?
3. What overall size should I make the "system" partition so that it is big enough to accommodate future updates (but not wasting valuable HD space that I could be using for something else) ?

1. Yes, the user account can be somewhere else. It is now an advanced option in the Accounts preferences.
2. The installation is from a DVD and you cannot "split" the installation. It must be to a single volume. Splitting the installation has never been an installer option.
3.Leopard requires at least 6.5 GBs for a pretty minimum installation - no languages, no Asian fonts, and two printer driver sets - GutenPrint drivers and one other family. Plan on additional space for OS X and I would say not less than 20 GBs unless you store applications on the startup volume (recommended) in which case at least 30 GBs.

Here's something that is very odd. I took two photographs and sized them to 640x480 pixels. As level 10 JPGs, the resulting files were 196kb and 116kb. Loaded them onto my iPod Touch. An iPod cache folder was created and I found the two files that it created for my photos. Each file was 656kb!
How can you take a 196kb file and a 116kb file and make it 656kb? What the heck is this software doing to these image files?

What CGI scripts are recommended for form2email?

My site is on register.com. I'm trying to use a script from form2email.net which was recommended by that host. The Dreamweaver code for the form looks fine to me. The script (written in Perl) executes, goes to a thank_you page, sends an email with correct from, to and subject. But the body of the email has no data except for the value of the submit button and info the script adds to any email it sends. I modified the script for my app using Notepad ++, changing only user-specified fields that had to be changed. I'd appreciate thoughts on what might be wrong, or a recommendation for a form2email script that works well with Dreamweaver.
register.com says they can't help with "coding problems," though they recommended the script, and I couldn't find help for my problem at the developer's site.

The reason why you're getting just 'Submit: [Send]' in your e-mail is because you're closing your actual form before your 'submit' button and starting another form just for the 'submit' button.

With respect to digital images, there really is no size in inches. The size is given as number of pixels horizontally and vertically. In iPhoto '09 you click the little "i" inthe lower right side of the window and it will display information related to the selected photo, including the pixel dimensions. I do not have iPhoto '11 installed so I don't know if it is the same there.
In some applications, such as preview, it has something additional called Dots per Inch (DPI) which you would think would allow you to convert the pixel dimensions to inches. It is not a real thing, though. The DPI is determined by how large or small you have chosen to print your photo and the capabilities of your printer.
There is also something called Aspect Ratio, which is usually expressed in inches x inches such as 6x9 but that doesn't mean the size on the screen or when printed is 6x9. It is the ratio of the pixel dimensions. When cropping your photos, you will have several standard aspect ratios to choose from plus any custom ones you create.
In iPhoto '09, after you choose Print, in the Print Setting window are the settings for the size you want the photo printed. You want to shoose a setting with the same aspect ratio of your photo. Otherwise, iPhoto will resize and/or crop your photo to fit the size you have chosen.

I'm planning on buying a smaller SSD and was looking for suggestions on the best size to buy. I have a 13" Late 2011 Macbook Pro, i5. 8gb RAM. 500gb HDD.
What I'm doing is replacing my 500gb HDD and moving that to my optical bay just for general storage. I'm going to set up my new SSD as the boot drive. I want to boost my performance for as little money as possible. I know that I can put 16gb RAM in and get significant improvement, but really want to get rid of the HDD as the boot drive. I suggest that you get at least a 240 GB SSD. SATA3, of course!
Larger SSDs are generally much faster, and the price is now dropping (to the point that I have just purchased an 1Tb Crucial M500 SSD for less than 400 €). The price difference between a 64 GB SSD and a 240 GB SSD is now minimal, and you will enjoy more space!
Two years ago, as soon as I purchased my late-2011 MBP, I immediately did the same, moving the original 750Gb HD to the optical bay, and installing a 240Gb Vertex-2 SSD in the main bay as system disk.
The space was just enough, as I have Bootcamp and Windows 7, too, so I divided it half-and-half, and a 128Gb storage is just barely enough for either OSX and Wndows-7 64 bits Pro...
You could survive with a 128 GB SSD if you do not need Bootcamp. Indeed, I always recommend to install Bootcamp and Windows 7 to all Mac owners, so you get the best of the two worlds. I love OSX, but for certain tasks Windows is still vastly superior (using Autocad, for example)...
Curiously, instead, I prefer OSX for Office...
