What song is stuck in your head?

Ever have one of those days when a song just gets stuck in your head, an "earworm" as John-BBY likes to call it?  Today my earworm was "Mr. Sandman" for the first half of the day and now I have various Santana songs stuck in my head.   Particularly "Maria, Maria".
Tell me what song is stuck in your head... if any.  Keep it PG!
Humming blissfully,

What music is stuck in your head? It can be anything. Try and keep this going!

     Hello !

William Earl "Bootsy" Collins (born October 26, 1951) is an American musician and singer-songwriter. Rising to prominence with James Brown in the early 1970s, and later with Parliament-Funkadelic, Collins's driving bass guitar and humorous vocals established him as one of the leading names in funk

  • How can you tell what song it is stuck on?

Is there a log or a way to tell what song match it stuck on? I see a lot of generic "stuck on step 2" posts, but nothing really of any substance.  I have figured out that if I delete my "Cache.db" file it appears to rebuild the match database, but I still seem to be stuck on a single track.
    Anyone have any helpful info?

Ahh ok, well that makes me feel better. I wish they would log it somewhere so we could at least track if the issue is on our end or theirs.
    I'm on 8517 of 24123.
I was adding them album by album, but it was taking forever, so i just threw them all in one directory and said ef-it.
    Thanks for the info.

  • If something small got stuck in your disk drive what steps do you take to remove it?

if something small got stuck in your disk drive what steps do you take to remove it?

Depending on the model of Mac I would first try to tilt the unit to see if you can get whatever you got stuck in there nearer the edge. Do not shake the Mac to move the object - you could cause damage to internal components.
The next best thing is to use a very fine pair of tweezers or pliers and try to remove the object. Sometimes a credit card or firm business card may also help you move the object nearer to the lip of the optical drive.
Be warned though - you are not supposed to stick anything into the optical drive yourself to try and remove something as you could cause further damage. Your best bet is to take it into an Apple Store and have them remove it. Just as another warning though - this would count as accidental damage and so is not covered under your Applecare if you have it. You'll have to pay out of pocket to get the object removed.

  • What will happen with matched songs if you cancel your iTunes Match subscription

Does anyone here know what would happen to your nonpurchaced songs if you let your iTunes Match subscription expire?  Will they be removed?

    Hi CLaCour,
I think the answer to your (and my) question can be found under 'a few iTunes Match questions'.
bigturnip said once you download the matches that were made, they are yours.  You pay for imatch and for that you can choose to use them and download to device or Mac.  Once this is done, it becomes yours.  You dont have to use the matches that are made.  He also explains about what is used in the storage.  It the uploaded (unmatched) song whitch uses up the free storage from icload

  • Is there a way for your backup to remember what songs you have downloaded with itunes match

i use itunes match, but i download the songs to my device as i have spotty service where i work and live.
i am upgrading to a larger size iphone and dont want to have to search through itunes match again and select all the songs i want to download again once i get the new phone. is there a way that itunes match will "remember" what song i have downloaded to my device and "re-download" them to the new device?
maybe via a playlist then just download the playlist? this seems like a lenghty way of doing it though.
anyhelp, tips or advice would be greatly appreciate. thanks

    No.

  • Is there a way to check what songs were played on iPod touch on a certain date?

I want to see what songs (and order they were played in if possible) on a certain date and to see what time they were played. I don't know if there is memory of plays beyond merely last time a song was played.

    You don't need an app.
You can display the Last Played time by selecting the Songs View and right-clicking on the column header bar (arrowed) and selecting Last Played on the pop-up menu. Then click on the Last Played column so that the arrow in the column is pointing downwards, so that the last song played is at the top of the list, the next one down was played before that song, etc.
As you can see, it's all there. However, it relies on three things:
that you use Sync to manage your iPod (so the last played times are synced with iTunes)
that the song is played all the way through. If you skip to a new song while the current one has 2 seconds to play, the Last Played is not changed.
if you are looking back at a distant time (as opposed to "just now") - that you have not played the song again since. In other words, if I now play "No Use Knocking" all the way through, it will then be at the top of the Last Played list, with the new time played. Look in the screenshot below; now that it has played, it's at the top of the list and "For The Love Of Money" is Now Playing:

    Hello Solid Buck,
Thank you so much for providing the details about the duplicate song issue you are experiencing.  It sounds like you would like to remove the duplicate songs that will not play on your iPhone, but when you connect it to iTunes, iTunes only shows you one copy of the song on your iPhone.
In this situation, I recommend deleting the individual songs that do not play directly from your iPhone.  I found the steps to do this on page 61 of the iPhone User Guide (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf):
Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Homesharing gives you the option of seeing only the content in the shared library, that is not already in your own library.

  • The product that I purchased is not working!!!! I need help and I've been stuck in your "Contact us loop" for the last few days and I'm getting frustrated. How do I contact you for HELP!

The product that I purchased is not working!!!! I need help and I've been stuck in your "Contact us loop" for the last few days and I'm getting frustrated. How do I contact you for HELP!

Probably the best place to start is the right forum for your product. This is the forum for Distiller Server, a long dead product used by big companies, and probably not what you have. If you can't find the right forum, please let us know the FULL name of what you paid for (please check your invoice, as Adobe have many similar products), and we can perhaps direct you. Good luck!

  • When i sync my ipad to itunes I get a message on the screen 12 songs did not sync to ipad see itunes for more information. how do I determine what songs did not sync where in itunes is this information stored

the old version of itunes had a drop down box listing songs that did not sync newer version does not how can i see what songs did not sync,  The box message on the screen says 19 items did not sync to your ipad, see itunes for more information.  Where do I look??

    Hello Tonchee
If you are seeing an Apple ID that is not yours, then you have purchased content on your iPad that is tied to that Apple ID. You would need to know that password or remove the content that is associated with that Apple ID.

  • "Newborn" sound track in iMovie - what song is it?

The iMovie sound effects include one called "Newborn".
It's a jazz piano arrangement of some old standard, I think.  But what is the song?
I'm wondering if "Newborn" refers to Phineas Newborn, though the piece doesn't seem to be in his style.
Here's a youTube video with the music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2s1LaIbBFvM
    Thanks!
    Hal

The D. D. Hanke song is based on the Newborn track.  I have found a couple of other instances of this.
Shine Your Light seems unrelated, I agree.
But, just to clarify, I am trying to identify the song being played in the Newborn track itself.  The Newborn track is all jazz piano, so you can't tell what song it is unless you happen to recognize the tune.  I am guessing from the style that it is a song written between say 1920 and 1960.
Is there some way to ask Apple who is playing the Newborn track?  Someone must know that, because Apple bought the rights from that person.
    Thanks!
    Hal

  • How do I choose what songs will be on my shuffle.

I also own a classic ipod that holds lots of songs.  I wanted something smaller to take to the gym.  I connected my new ipod shuffle registered it then it automactically started downloading songs from my library.   I have certian songs selected or checked to go on my classic, not all my songs are on my classic from my library.  How can I choose what songs will be on my shuffle?  Do I have to uncheck all my songs then check only the songs from my library that I want on my shuffle?  If this is the case that is a bummer...because it would mean that I would have to redo all of the selecting again for my classic.  Please tell me this is not the case!  Does anyone know how to go around this so I don't have to reconfigure everything everytime I want to synch different songs to put on my shuffle...there has got to be a way...I don't think that apple would be that uninformed to let this happen...Maybe I need to load a whole different itunes for my shuffle and have two seperate programs????

Depending on the type of iPod you are using, "Other" can be various things such as Album Artwork, Notes, Contacts, Firmware etc. or files that are on there if you are using the iPod as a removable storage device.
If you feel that Other is being incorrectly reported then try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes

  • In genius, it says: Genius is unavailable for the song...  No matter what song it is, it keeps on saying that

In genius, it says: Genius is unavailable for the song...
Then, underneath, it says "Choosing Update Genius from the Store menu will update your genius results. If after updating, iTunes is still unable to create a genius playlist from this song or artist, please choose another one.
The point is, that no matter what song or what artist I choose, even after updating, this message still pops up!

Thanks to the tip from squane about repopulating the library, GENIUS IS WORKING AGAIN!
It does seem to be related to having started iTunes Match. My guess would be the songs that did not make it to the cloud may be the culprit, but I'm not sure.
The steps are a little involved, but here's what I did:
    1) Go through the iTunes Match process
    2) Click the cloud icon in the sort bar at the top of itunes
    3) Select all the songs that were matched (if you're like me, you'll have about 50 songs/booklets that did not make it to the cloud for various reason -- so it's important not to select these at this point).
    4) Delete, and, of course, do not select "also delete this song from the cloud" (I'm doing this because I have a MacBook Air with an SSD drive, so I can't afford the space to have my 94 GB of songs on my drive).
If you haven't tried this before (only keeping the cloud version), you might try it with one song just to test. After the local version is gone, you still see the song but you need to be connected to the net to listen to it.
Now, all your songs, except the ones that did not make it to the cloud, are off your local drive.
    5) For all the things you want to keep, but did not make it to the cloud, I right clicked on each item, selected "Show in Finder", and dragged it to a folder on my desktop so that I'm sure not to lose it in subsequent steps.
    6) Quit itunes
    7) Go to your Music/iTunes folder
    8) Delete all files that begin with iTunes (so iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Music Library.xml, * Extras.itdb, * Genius.itdb)
I'd recommend backing up these files somewhere before deletion just in case...
    9) Restart iTunes
    10) Turn on Match
    11) Turn on/update Genius
At least for me, this process fixed Genius being unavailable for any song I tried, even those songs that were the basis of previous Genius song lists that I have saved. It still shows as unavailable for certain songs like before, but all the songs it previously worked for work again.
