What spec is the video output on an ipod?

Hi,
I know when playing movies on an ipod the specs are:
H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec.
MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec.
But is this the same for the video output on an ipod video 30GB version?

I searched all over on the Apple site. I cannot find what you are looking for. From what I understand, the video quality of hooking the iPod to a medium-small TV screen would be around or a bit less of the quality of a local TV station on flaky cable (depending on your provider). Just my understanding. My guess is that the stats are about the same, except, depending on the screen, the resolution and other size aspects would be different.

  • What are the specs of the video the Playbook records?

    Hello,
I'm going through the challenge of converting Playbook MP4 video files to edit them in Final Cut Pro. I was wondering if anyone could give me the full specs on the video the Playbook records. Is it 720 X 1280? Interlaced or progressive? What is the frame speed? Audio? Etc.?
Is there possibly some Blackberry site on the web that gives all this technical information?
    Thanks.

Unfortunately no matter how I try to download Supported Media Types on BlackBerry Tablets I can't - either by clicking on your link or by putting that phrase into a search engine (it appears there but will also not download). Equally I'm not really interested at this time in kinds of media I could import into the Playbook.
Now, that is odd. I just downloaded it second time from the link you posted.
    Anyway, the video is 720p, 1280 x 720.
Output to an HD television, with an HDMI cable has a resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080).
    Tablet screen resolution is 1024 x 600.
Supported video camera encoding on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet
    File format: MP4
    Component:  Video
    Code:  H.264
    Notes:
480p at 30 frames per second produces a bit rate of 2.67 Mbps.
720p at 30 frames per second produces a bit rate of 8 Mbps.
1080p at 30 frames per second produces a bit rate of 16 Mbps.
    Component: Audi
    Codec: AAC
Notes: MPEG-4 AAC at 128 Kbps, stereo (2 channels), 48 kHz sampling

  • Make appear the video tab in my ipod ??

Hi! I bought a ipod nano, And I got a problem with it, When I want add Videos from my computer I cannot do it, Or I don't know how, I saw in the ipod nano guide that I need go to itunes and then click in the little ipod that is in the right ok I already did it But i can't find the video tab in there, and I can't find the video option in my ipod too. My other question is how I can add notes to my ipod, Because I cannot see the folder for add notes when I connect my ipod, I'm really confused I you help please, can I have some way to resolve my problem? Or I have to send back my ipod?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Your iPod is not broken and does not need repair.
The iPod nano does not support videos and cannot play them. iTunes will not give you the option of putting videos onto the iPod nano as it cannot play them. What you are experiencing is normal.
    As for notes, see this...

  • The best output device for iPod?

    Hallo Everybody,
Somedays ago I have seen an heard the T+A Caruso(http://www.taelektroakustik.de/deu/ta2/caruso/caruso.htm). This was it! Yes! Internetradio, CD and iPod in a perfect Combination of Sound! - and then the cold shower - 1700 Euro not $!
Who know a ultimative solution under this price?
DENON S52 is it not! no sound calibration!

You can connect an iPod to any sound system. So the best "output device for iPod" is the same as the +best output device, period.+
I'm told you get better sound (for the purpose of feeding into a sound system) if you connect the audio output through the docking connector, instead of from the headphone jack. You get +line level audio out+ like with other audio system components.
You can do so if you have a Docking Station device with a stereo jack, or if you get a cable like this one.
[Example of cable with docking connector and mini-stereo jack|http://www.restockit.com/Cables-To-Go-IPod-Audio-Cable-Apple-Dock-Connecto r-Mini-phone-Stereo-3-5-Mm-M-White-(73679B).html?source=froogle&Bvar5=100F1&Bvar 6=100F1&Bvar7=100F1]

  • What would be the fastest os for my ipod touch 2G?

What would be the fastest os for my ipod touch 2G?

If you have iOS 4.2.1, you have the latest and last version of iOS your 2nd-gen iPod touch will run, and that's probably the optimal version compared to older releases.
    Regards.

  • I purchased an iPod touch few months back. And i am very upset with the volume output it produces. iPod being an music player, has poor volume quality then my iPhone 3gs. Can anyone pls help. How do i rectify it?

i purchased an iPod touch few months back. And i am very upset with the volume output it produces. iPod being an music player, has poor volume quality then my iPhone 3gs. Can anyone pls help. How do i rectify it?

Problem with both the speaker and earphones?
Have you tried another pair of headphones?
Yu can try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset. nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • What are the specs of the audio output in iMovie?

Using  iMovie on iPad2, what are the audio specs for the final movie output options (HD1080p, HD720p, etc.)?  Does my 16/44 WAV or ALAC audio remain as, or is it converted?

I don't have the new iPad, so I can't say if it saves up to 1080P.
But I would assume when you save to the camera roll it will save it as 1080 video.
On the iPhone 4, and older iPad it saves a 720 video, but that is the source it gets.
But I can answer about the audio.
IMovie iOS will encode the audio and video in the same format the device records.
So it will save the video as H264, and embed audio as AAC.
    These are compressed formats.
You do lose some quality in the final output.
I find this is minimal, and well worth the loss for the ability to edit on the go.
    Hope that helps.

  • How do iget hulu plus to play on my tv? I have the video outputs n it wrks for netflix not hulu plus so how do i getit to wrk?

I wrks on netflix but nothulu and inhave the video outputs

Do you have an iPad 2 or the new iPad and the Digital AV Adapter (the one with HDMI)? Those are required for Hulu to be able to output to a TV, from what I read.

  • When I updated Firefox and watched the "New Features" tour video upon restarting, my Firefox looks nothing like what's in the video

When I watched the video based on what's new on the newest version of Firefox, I realized that my Firefox window did not look like anything like what was being shown on the video.

Do you see text links at the top?<br><br>
    * Right click a blank part of the Tab bar and then click "Menu Bar". This will remove the text links and restore the orange Firefox button.<br>
Do you want tabs on top?<br><br>
    * Right click a blank part of the Tab bar and then click "Tabs on top" to move them above the location bar.<br><br>
    * To rearrange the layout, repeat the same steps again and choose "Customize". A panel will open and while that remains onscreen, you can move elements like toolbars, buttons etc around and place them anywhere you wish. You can also drag anything you don't like into that panel and add anything you want by dragging it out of there.<br><br>

  • What happen to the video effet's?

well i love that u are able to turn ur video from black and white but on i movie o8 does not have the effet what happen

This was Apple's response to my inquiry about this...
Thank you for holding. I was able to research this issue for you and was able to verify that this is expected behavior for the Videos Application. At this time, iOS 7 does not allow devices to view the entire season of shows without pauses. We definitely want to hear your feedback about our software and would like to invite you to to submit your concerns via our site at  www.apple.com/feedback . I do apologize about the change.
    My reply:
Wow, you took a perfectly awesome feature away from your users. That's just unacceptable!
I think we, the users and people who have paid for these products, need to step up and raise **** about this. Because it's absolute BS.

  • What happened to the Video Workshop tutorials?

I have Illustrator CS3. I don't use it often so I rely on the video tutorials. The link inside the program help that used to point to the tutorials now points to "Adobe Inspire Magazine" which offers no help at all.
Oddly enough, the tutorials I'm looking for still exist in Italian. http://www.adobe.com/it/designcenter/video_workshop/ How is this fair?
I paid for all the features in CS3, one of which is access to the video tutorials. So Itialian speaking people still get help with CS3 and English speakers are bent over the barrel to cough up more money to upgrade? Not FAIR!
From inside my CS3 program help file:
To access Adobe Creative Suite 3 video tutorials, visit Adobe Video Workshop at www.adobe.com/go/learn_videotutorials. Doesn't work anymore.
Even in the CURRENT online pdf: http://help.adobe.com/archive/en_US/illustrator/cs3/illustrator_cs3_help.pdf you'll see references (including screen shots) to the video tutorials and links. (SEE PAGES 5-7 of the pdf) But they are LIES!!! As mentioned above, links now direct to a useless magazine.
Where are the 200+ videos I am supposed to have access to?
Had I purchased the DVD version of the software I'd have the tutorials on disk. I chose the download version as it was PROMISED to have all the same features. If they don't have them online anymore, I should be able to get a copy of the videos on disk shouldn't I?
    I need these tutorials.
    HELP!
    Update to above:
    Spanish version exists: http://www.adobe.com/es/designcenter/video_workshop/
    Dutch version exists: http://www.adobe.com/nl/designcenter/video_workshop/
    Sweedish version exists: http://www.adobe.com/se/designcenter/video_workshop/
Come on Adobe. Do the right thing here. Please provide the link to the english video workshop tutorials I paid for.

    No "effects" in iMovie 7.
You can always add them using iMovie 6 and export that file to version 7.

  • What settings need to be adjusted to send out Dolby digital ,DTS from inputs such as Netflix to the video output via an adaptor to HDMI?

Hi. I can only stream picture and PCM out of my Mac BookPro. What settings need to be adjusted to output Dolby Digital or DTS to an HDMI adaptor had thence onto my AV Processor?

The Audio Midi Setup utility may need to have its settings updated.
That's if you have the right adapter:

  • What's best for video output to plasma HDTV?

I'm thinking of hooking my 15' MBP up to my Samsung Plasma HDTV. The TV has input options including VGA, DVI, and HDMI.
Since I'll have to go purchase the necessary cables and/or adapters to make this work, I was curious to know which option would give me the best video quality. Or is there a difference?
    What's the best?

VGA is an analog video format. You'd be degrading your signal from digital out to analog, then your TV would likely reconvert it to digital for display on the plasma. That's definitely not the way to go.
As for the DVI vs HDMI they're both digital transport. I am not totally certain but I believe for digital video the HDMI is just a higher density tighter pack of wires than DVI (other than audio but that's irrelevant here) so it the DVI vs HDMI should be equivalent quality.
I'd just plug the DVI out from the MacBook Pro into the DVI input of the TV. The cable will cost a mint (maybe like $50). I heard through someone that Apple is carrying low cost cables, but I haven't checked it out yet. I'll step back to hear someone who knows more comment more on the DVI vs HDMI and this price part.

  • What's with the video performance?

I have a 2.8Ghz Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro from maybe a year ago or so. It can't handle 720p quicktime videos from the apple trailers site. They stutter and drop frames like crazy. My older Macbook Pro could handle the 1080p videos. The newer one has the nvidea 9600M GT video card. Is there a setting or something I'm missing? Something I need to do to optimize performance?
It's a little ridiculous that this happens, considering my PC that is over 3 years older (and wasn't high end to begin with) can handle the same videos just fine.

I'm using Firefox. Everything is the latest. These aren't flash videos. I'm talking about the download version of Quicktime videos that cause Quicktime to open and it plays in there. I did just try saving the mov file and played it with VLC without any trouble.

  • What happened to the video filter in Photoshop Elements 13?

So disappointed in Photoshop Elements 13. Just upgraded from Elements 8 with great expectations that 13 would be better and more powerful. All they did was dumb it down. Wish I could get my money back.

The Extract filter was eliminated as it has been made utterly obsolete by the new selection techniques in CS5.
