What steps do I take to give my husband my older IPAD w/o removing him from my Apple account?
I recently bought a new IPAD2. All personal data and APPS were transferred from my older IPAD to my new one at the time of purchase. I'd like to give my older IPAD to my husband w/o removing him from my Apple acct. Apple's support does not provide instructions for my situation. Does anyone have suggestions as to what steps I should take?
What you might need to do depends upon how you want the old iPad to be for him.
If he will be using your iTunes account for any purchases/downloads from the store then he can continue to be logged in with your account in Settings > iTunes & App Stores. If not then log out of your account by tapping on your id in there, and he can then log in with his own account - any apps and other store downloads that you leave on the iPad will remain tied to your account, so only your account will potentially be able to redownload them and/or download updates to your apps.
To use his own account for Messages he can log out of your account via Settings > Messages > Send & Receive - tap on your id at the top of that screen and select 'sign out' on the popup. He can then log in with his account. Similarly for FaceTime : Settings > FaceTime (tap on your id on that screen). And (if he wants to back up his content to his own account) : Settings > iCloud > Sign Out
If you want to remove all content from the old iPad so that he can start afresh with it, then Settings > iCloud > Sign Out, and then Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings

I went to set my old iPad to "restore"---and find that I have de-authorized and removed the old one from my list of managed devices in iTunes.
I have it plugged into my computer and to iTunes but it's not recognizing it so I can reauthorize it.....Usually when you connect the USB of any apple device "something" shows up....
I could use your help here again. I have tried to find out the answer to this on my own but "reauthorize" seems only to apply to computers---not devices. Thanks in advance.... -

I have new Windows 7 computer and want to connect and copy Itunes backed up folder from external HD (a year ago) to new computer and install new Itunes and new IOS. When you open a raw file it will open in Adobe camera raw. That is where you can do most of the editing. Then it will be placed inside Photoshop where you can do more if needed.
Now you can use the save for web dialog to export your image as a png or jpg to use on those sites. -

Depending on the model of Mac I would first try to tilt the unit to see if you can get whatever you got stuck in there nearer the edge. Do not shake the Mac to move the object - you could cause damage to internal components.
The next best thing is to use a very fine pair of tweezers or pliers and try to remove the object. Sometimes a credit card or firm business card may also help you move the object nearer to the lip of the optical drive.
Be warned though - you are not supposed to stick anything into the optical drive yourself to try and remove something as you could cause further damage. Your best bet is to take it into an Apple Store and have them remove it. Just as another warning though - this would count as accidental damage and so is not covered under your Applecare if you have it. You'll have to pay out of pocket to get the object removed.

You don't have to do anything to the netgear.. the Express cannot wirelessly extend non-apple networks. You must plug the Express in by ethernet and create a new wireless network.. this can be the same name (SSID) and security as the netgear so it can become a roaming network.

You will need to remove the address as your rescue email address first, which you can do by logging into your account via http://appleid.apple.com, selecting the Password & Security section and answering the security questions.

You can then try putting it as your primary email address, which you can do either via that site, by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and logging into, or via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes. I don't know if an additional MPEG-2 QuickTime component is required under Lion, you'll have to check that yourself. So, in the end, it's MPEG-4.
