What steps need be done after database is moved to another machine

concurrent manager can not run anymore after i move the 'VIS' database to another machine.
what steps i need to perform at application side to correct it?

Hi,
Have you moved the database or the application as well? This sounds like a cloning / autoconfig issue, but it depends on what you have done so far.
Kind Regards,
Steve

    Problem Description: hi

can you please suggest how to shrink this LOB and what steps need to perform.
during shrinkg of LOB how much undo tablespace is require, and does it create more archive log because LOB size is 320gb.
this table having function based index also.so we will not shrink it.
we need to release the space from database this in only big LOB out of my DATABASE its took approx. 80%.
there is any way we can reclame this space with less time.

  • Please let me know what steps need to take to convert JApplet to JFrame

I have an application which needs to convert from JApplet to JFrame....Please let me know what are the steps need to take for this

I have an application which needs to convert from
JApplet to JFrame....The topic of this forum is web-start, and it
can be used to launch both applets and
    applications. An applet deployed using
web-start avoids a lot of the browser related
    problems that affect 'embedded' applets.
    This leads me to..
Please let me know what are the steps need to take for this You do not need to convert it, to launch it
using web-start, but if you are determined to
make it into a frame, it would be best to ask
how to do that on a forum where the subject
being talked about, is closer to what you are

  • What steps need follow in OWB after changing SERVICE_NAME in RAC

    Hi,
Due to some reason we are planning to change the SERVICE_NAME in the RAC environment. We have deployed near about 500 mapping and 10 process flows with the old SERVICE_NAME.Using OMBALTER LOCATION "LOCATION_NAME" SET PROPERTIES(SERVICE_NAME) VALUES ("NEW_SERVICE_NAME")
if we change the SERVICE_NAME to new one what are all the impacts.
    1. Whether all mapping and process flows will become invalid?
    2. Whether we need to re-deploy all mapping and process flows?
    3. What procedure we need to follow?
Oracle DB version 10.2.0.4 and OWB version 10.2.0.4
    Regards,
    Murali

    Hi Murali,
how did you specify address of target database during creating OWB repository (as SQL*Net string or with host/port/service name notation)?
Using OMBALTER LOCATION "LOCATION_NAME" SET PROPERTIES(SERVICE_NAME) VALUES ("NEW_SERVICE_NAME")You won't change locations address in this way (because location is already registered).
Again - how did created locations (with SQL*Net string or with host/port/service name notation)?
Anyway try to look at metalink note 434272.1 "How To Update Warehouse Builder After A Database Cloning" (this note contains reference to utility for changing location address in form host/port/service)

    Oleg

  • Provide Information on what steps have been done

Troubleshooting is the process of elimination.  When a member states that they have a problem and they have done all the troubleshooting steps, it leaves community members at a loss. We don't know where to begin and still have to ask what has been done in order to find the starting point. A "Best Practice" would be to list the problem and what has been done.
For example: I cannot get the printer (Officejet 6700 premium, - CN538A) the print an email  I sent to it.  I am sending it from my Gmail account I have already made sure that the printer is listed as the only recipient and made sure that I am typing the printer's email address correctly. I am only sending 1 attachment and it is a PDF file.  This is the first email that it failed, al others sent have printed."
This way, community members who wish to help  out will have a better understanding what has been done/eliminated from the list of possible causes.

So, When I discover the target from grid control it says like target not found.
What do I need to do?
    Thanks,
    Vishal

    Hi vishal,
    The way it works is:
OMS talks to agent using EMD_URL (i.e..port 3872) and Agent talks to OMS using REPOSITORY_URL (i.e,. port 4889 or 1159).
Both these URL info is present in emd.properties file
    location is : AGENT_HOME/sysman/config
once your agent is installed SUCCESSFULLY,
    under AGENT_HOME/bin
use the below command to check the list of targets:
    emctl config agent listtargets

    Vamsi

  • Urgent - steps need to done, when MS SQL upgraded from 2000 to 2005

SQL server is upgraded from MS SQL 2000 to MS SQL 2005.
Please let me know the steps ned to be performed at XI .

    hi satya kiran,
    check the below blogs,
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c90ecf8d-0d01-0010-4aa3-e6fc4da46bb3
The process to perform the migration you describe is relatively easy. While note 799058 is relevant, you should first have a look at the System Copy Guide, which applies to your system. These guides can be found on SAP Service Marketplace:
    “Release & Upgrade Info”  “Installation & Upgrade Guides”  “SAP NetWeaver”  “SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s)”
Click on “Installation”, a new window opens. Check section “Installation - SAP NetWeaver Systems”
You will see links to system copy guides for Service Release1 and Service Release 2, and separate entries for ABAP only systems, Java only systems and double stacks.
For example: the SR2 guide for ABAPJava has the title: System Copy for SAP - Systems Based on SAP - NetWeaver 7.0 SR2 - ABAPJava”
Each of this guides has a brief chapter on copying a MSSQL database. Please carefully read the guide and the SAP notes it refers to. The overall procedure for an ABAP only system will look like this:
    1. Apply note 600027 (change SQL Server collation) to your existing SQL2000 database. You HAVE to perform this step before moving the database to the new hardware.
    2. Prepare your new servers (Windows, SQL2005 installation following the SAP guidance on collation et cetera).
    3. Detach the SQL2000 database from your old system, copy the datafiles to the new machine and attach the database to the new SQL2005 server.
    4. Follow the system copy guide and run sapinst to install the SAP central instance and configure the database.
Copying the Java stack is a little bit complicated, because you have to create an export of your Java data on your old system first. This is explained in great detail in the system copy guide.

  • What programs need re-installing after upgrade to Mavericks?

    Hi.
I'm new to Mac, currently running OSX 10.7.5 Lion with Parallels 9  - intending to upgrade to Maverick.
I'm aware that files should be backed up onto ext. source before backup but ..
Will the upgrade take out Parallels and associated Windows files/programs.
Will it take out files such as Office for Mac 2011 or am I being a little overcatious?

Parallels or Boot Camp does not matter. The same answer holds. If you want the best chance of success, I would encourage the following:
    Follow proper upgrade practices;
    Remove all third-party peripherals.
Repair your hard drive and permissions using Disk Utility.
Backup your computer to an external drive.
Be sure you have at least 20 GBs of free space on your hard drive.
    Download the Mavericks installer application.
Upon completion do not run the installer, but quit the installer.
Make a copy of the installer in your Downloads folder before you proceed with installing.
Make a bootable flash drive installer.
    Install Mavericks on your computer.
Make Your Own Mavericks, Mountain/Lion Installer
    1. After downloading the installer you must first save the Install Mac OS X application. After the installer downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing.
    2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the leftside list. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list.
Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.
    3. Use DiskMaker X to put your installer clone onto the USB flash drive.
Make your own Mavericks flash drive installer using the Mavericks tool:
You can also create a Mavericks flash drive installer via the Terminal. Mavericks has its own built-in installer maker you use via the Terminal:
You will need a freshly partitioned and formatted USB flash drive with at least 8GBs. Leave the name of the flash drive at the system default, "Untitled." Do not change this name. Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. Copy this command line after the prompt in the Terminal's window:
    sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app --nointeraction
Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted. It will not be echoed to the screen so be careful to enter it correctly. Press RETURN, again.
Wait for the process to complete which will take quite some time.
My personal recommendation is that you backup your computer after making the flash drive installer, then boot from the flash drive installer, erase your hard drive, and install Mavericks. Test the system out thoroughly until you are satisfied it's working properly for you. Then restore your data from the backup you made.

  • SAP failed to start after database restored to a new machine

    Hi,
We have a SAp BW 3.5 running on a SQL 2000, recently our server is degraded and become unstable to host our BW server.
So we build another box with the same OS and DB version and patches, ran sapinst from the SAP DVD, upgraded the kernel to the same level as our current setup.
SAP started Ok with the kernel upgraded, however when we restored the backup to it, if fails.
I have attached the developer trace log, and hope someone can give us some help on diagnosing the issues

  • EULA reapears after streaming the disk to another machine with Citrix Provisioning Services

We have a Citrix Xenapp 6.5 farm and we use Citrix provisioning services to stream 1 disk to multiple servers in the farm.
We use Adobe acrobat professional X and the EULA pop-ups keeps appearing for each user. During the installation of the master image the ACCEPT_EULA property is set to "yes"
The only way to get rid of these popups is to unistall acrobat and re-install it.
Is this the only way to fix this or is there a quicker method, script or registry entry or whatever to fix this issue?

How are you setting the property? Is it command line or via the Wizard?
If CMD, then get the Admin Guide and double check your syntax.
If Wizard, verify the property is set by inspecting the UI and the installer tables with the Direct Editor.
    Post back.
    Ben

In another thread you said you had your OCP. What test are these questions for?
Along the same line as your other asking what is next, have you tried recreating this problem? It is one thing to be able to give an answer, being able to actually perform the work is what your future employer is looking for.
